Chapter - 2867

Quinlan cried out in distress, "We can't escape. I can feel a pure gust of power honing in on our energy as if it's monitoring our every move. If our energy fluctuations become too noticeable, it will alert whoever is behind it, and they might intervene."

What?

Frowning, Zeke asked, "Quinlan, are you saying that the pure gust of power is targeting our energy?"

Quinlan nodded. “That's right."

Zeke quickly added, "Does that mean that we'll no longer be their targets if there is no energy in our bodies?"

Quinlan responded, "In theory, yes."

"Where is Lacey? Where is she? Hurry, release her," Zeke urged. "She doesn't have any energy, so she won't be targeted by Terrachus. Hurry, let her escape!"

Quinlan nodded in agreement. “Yes, you're right. Well, at least one of us gets to escape alive."

He waved his hand, revealing a narrow spatial passage in front of him.

Lacey walked out of the spatial passage.

Back when the parallel universe exploded, Quinlan made the effort to extract its spatial passage.

The spatial passage was pretty complete, so he was able to hide Lacy within it.

The moment Lacey emerged, she saw King of Dragons being beaten to a pulp.

Taken aback, she blurted out, "What happened to King of Dragons? Isn't it the strongest among us? Why is it getting beaten up?"

Zeke urgently whispered to her, "Lacey, stop asking questions. Run for your life. Run as far as you can. Head to Theos Island and seek out a sailor named Zander Keach. He will ensure your safe passage away from this place.”

Lacey bobbed her head. "Okay. Come, let's leave now. It's dangerous here."

To her surprise, Zeke shook his head. "I'm sorry, Lacey. I can't keep you company anymore. You'll have to rely on yourself from now on."

Huh?

Lacey gaped incredulously. "Zeke, what are you talking about? Let's escape together! How could you-"

Zeke interjected urgently, "Lacey, we've been targeted. The moment we try to escape, our enemy will catch wind of our actions. None of us will be able to escape by then. You still have a chance to escape, so leave right now."

"No!" Lacy sounded determined. "If you stay, then I'll stay, too."

"Listen to me, Lacey."

Zeke tried to persuade Lacey to change her mind but to no avail.

What should I do to make her leave?

Right then, a pure gust of power suddenly enveloped Lacey.

Zeke's heart sank. Shit. Terrachus has discovered Lacey. He's using his power to envelop her. Is he planning on beating her up like what he did to King of Dragons?

Naturally, he wouldn't just watch the woman getting tortured to her death.

Clenching his fists, he was prepared to go to battle with the enemy once the latter took action against Lacey.

Nevertheless, the pure power didn't do anything bad after targeting Lacey. Instead, it started rotating swiftly around her.

Slowly, Lacey shut her eyes.

Knitting his brows, Zeke asked worriedly, "Lacey... are you all right?"

Lacey nodded. "I'm fine. Something feels different, though. It's as if a gust of wind has swept away the impurities from my body, leaving me feeling lighter."

The burst of wind she was talking about was naturally the gust of power.

Did Terrachus take the initiative to get rid of the impurities in Lacey's body? Seriously? What is he getting at? Does he favor women over men, or is it hoes before bros?

Terrachus stopped torturing King of Dragons and gathered his power on Lacey's body, rotating around her.

Lacey visibly relaxed further, letting go of any lingering tension.

A long while later, Terrachus finally spoke up in a trembling voice. "Who are you? Where did you come from?"

What is going on?
