Chapter - 2873

When Quinlan opened his eyes to see Zeke standing where he was, his brows wrinkled subconsciously. "Zeke, don't tell me that you managed to expel the death aura faster than I did?"

As Quinlan was the strongest among the humans there, he thought he would be the first to finish.

Unexpectedly, Zeke replied, “I wasn't affected by it at all.”

That's impossible!

Quinlan exclaimed, “The death aura attacks all flesh. As long as you're breathing, you will be corroded by it. Unless... you're not human?"

What the..?

Zeke retorted, "That's impolite of you to say that! I'm indeed unaffected by the death aura, and so is Lacey."

Quinlan replied, "As a descendant of Vassilios and someone who carries his blood, it isn't a surprise that she isn't corroded by it. But, for the same to happen to you doesn't make sense unless you, too, are a descendant of Vassilios."

The curious Zeke asked, "Was there a Demi-Emperor with the surname Williams in ancient times?"

Quinlan shook his head. "I don't know. By the time I was born, the age of Demi-Emperors had passed."

"Haha!"

The King of Dragons' voice suddenly rang out. "He's not the descendant of any f*cking Demi-Emperors. I know why he isn't being corroded by the death aura."

"Why?" Zeke asked quizzically.

"Give me two spirit pills, and I'll tell you."

"In your dreams."

"In that case, you'll never know the real reason."

"So be it. All that matters is that I'm unaffected by it."

The King of Dragons was at a loss for words.

Zeke continued, "Lacey, order the King of Dragons to tell me the reason why I'm not being corroded."

Lacey did as she was told. "Drax, tell me quickly why is he unharmed by the death aura?"

The King of Dragons was pissed.

He is obviously interested to know the reason! And now, he's making use of Lacey to force me into revealing it. Humans are just shameless scums! F*ck!

With a bitter look on its face, the King of Dragons explained, "The faith energy Zeke possesses is continuously dispelling the death aura. On top of that, he has absorbed some Fortuna, which facilitates the process too. To be honest, even if the death aura is many times more intense than what we're experiencing now, he will still remain unaffected by it."

gave The King of Dragon's words everyone an epiphany, including Quinlan.

"Wait, you have faith energy in you? Who in the world are you? Why would someone worship you?"

Zeke explained, "I'm Eurasia's Great Marshal, protector of the nation's peace."

Quinlan furrowed his brows. "Eurasia? Great Marshal? What are those things? Are they really strong?"

In no mood to explain, Zeke shifted his gaze to Sole Wolf.

The latter and the others had just regained their composure after expelling the death aura from their bodies.

Sole Wolf heaved a sigh. “D*mn it, it feels terrible to be eaten away by the death aura."

Quinlan added, "The rest of our journey will get more difficult, as we'll have to release energy continuously to keep the death aura out."

Sole Wolf was frustrated. "If we were to use our energy that way, we won't be able to unleash our full power in the event of danger. Also, releasing energy continuously will make us a target for our enemies. I don't think this is a good idea."

Quinlan replied, "We don't have a choice. You'll be killed by the death aura's corrosion if you don't do it. That's our only way to survive. But don't worry, our enemies will experience the same thing as us."

"Fine." Sole Wolf shrugged his shoulders in resignation.

Thereafter, Zeke ordered, "Let's move ahead now. Don't fall behind. everyone."

With that, the group continued on their journey.

Half an hour later, Zeke stopped abruptly. "Wait, something's wrong."

Everyone grew wary at once.

Zeke asked, "Take a look around. Doesn't this place look familiar?"

Scanning the surroundings, they were quickly taken by surprise. "F*ck, we seem to be back where we started.”

"There's no doubt about it. We are definitely back in the same place.”
