Chapter - 2879

Meanwhile, the death spirits were free to unleash fatal attacks on them.

That would be a very unfair battle.

Looking at Quinlan, who was engulfed by death aura, Zeke asked, “Quinlan, how much longer do you need to expel the death aura?"

Quinlan gasped for breath. "About... about an hour...”

An hour...

Zeke couldn't wait that long.

Theos and his gang might have already found the divine weapon within an hour.

Zeke was beside himself with anxiety.

Suddenly, an idea popped into his head. He quickly took out a spirit pill and said, "Quinlan, I'll crush this spirit pill and release its spiritual energy. Absorb all of it. Perhaps, it can purge the death aura from your body."

Quinlan glanced at the spirit pill and said with a sigh, "Let's hope it works. Okay, I'm prepared."

Zeke crushed the spirit pill in his hand.

In an instant, a massive wave of spiritual energy surged out. It was so dense that it condensed into a liquid state.

Quinlan swiftly absorbed all the released spiritual energy.

When the spiritual energy permeated his body, every inch of his cells seemed to relax. He felt extremely comfortable and energized as if he had just taken a ton of health supplements.

Simultaneously, the death aura that had been wreaking havoc within him was immediately suppressed by the spiritual energy. It became inactive and was ultimately expelled from his body.

This entire process took less than a minute.

Quinlan stood up with excitement. He stretched his body, overwhelmed by exhilaration.

"The spiritual energy is so f*cking powerful! It completely expelled the death energy in just one minute," he exclaimed. "Spiritual energy is truly the bane of death aura! I think half a spirit pill's worth of spiritual energy would already be sufficient to purge a Celestial Class death spirit's aura. Zeke, give me a spirit pill just in case!"

Zeke scoffed. "Is it appropriate to address your master by his name?"

Quinlan had no choice but to swallow his pride for the spirit pill's sake. "Master, would you be so kind as to bestow upon your apprentice a spiritual pill?"

Zeke responded, "I don't have any."

Quinlan was speechless.

"I've already addressed you as 'Master.' What more do you want?"

Zeke responded, “Usually, it should be the apprentice who presents their master with offerings, and not the other way around. In this world, only a father would sacrifice unconditionally for his son. If you address me as your daddy, perhaps I'll consider granting you a spirit pill.”

Amused, Lacey couldn't help but burst into giggles.

What is with men and their desire to humiliate others by making others address them as "Daddy?" Who would have thought that even the almighty Great Marshal would find himself in this same predicament?

However, while other men enjoyed being called "Daddy" by women, Zeke was the only one who wanted an irritable old man as his son.

Quinlan felt immensely humiliated. "Zeke, don't you think you've gone too far? After all, I am your senior and a respected ancient warrior.”

“Haha! Forget it then. Let's continue our journey."

Quinlan's face fell once again.

A few minutes later, when Lacey was falling behind, Quinlan seized the opportunity and ran up to Zeke, whispering, "Daddy, can you kindly bestow upon your child a spirit pill? It'll protect me from being killed by the death aura."

Zeke gaped at Quinlan in shock.

Oh my goodness! Quinlan is truly going all out for the sake of the spirit pill. He threw all dignity aside and actually called me his daddy. Looks like I have no choice but to give him a spirit pill now.

Zeke took a deep breath. "What did you just say?"

Lowering his voice, Quinlan repeated, "Daddy..."

"Louder! I didn't catch that," insisted Zeke.

Quinlan grew anxious and shouted, "Daddy, please grant me a spirit pill so I won't get killed!"

Lacey was at a loss for words. Zeke is being such a bully.

Along the way, Zeke also encountered several death spirits. However, the death spirits did not focus entirely on attacking them.

Zeke let Quinlan deal with the death spirits. They briefly engaged Quinlan in battle before giving up and converging toward the south.
