Chapter - 2887

Picking up the bone, Squirrel showed it to Zeke and the others while squeaking away, seemingly in explanation.

"Squirrel is saying that this bone is the bone of an ancient supreme being and is exceedingly hard. With our capabilities, we'll never be able to break it," the King of Dragons translated.

Zeke shared a look with Quinlan. "Is this really the bone of an ancient supreme being?"

Quinlan nodded. “Yes. Regretfully, it's too ancient that the spiritual energy on it has long since dissipated. It's no longer of any use. But its toughness is downright remarkable. It's a perfect material to forge divine weapons. If the King of Dragons were to use its fire seed, it may be able to refine this bone."

"In other words, it won't be able to destroy this bone with its capabilities alone?" Zeke asked.

Again, Quinlan gave a dip of his head in affirmation.

Zeke shifted his gaze to Squirrel's two massive front teeth. “I don't believe it can damage this ancient supreme being's bone, considering his petite stature when even a being as powerful as the King of Dragons isn't capable of it."

"I don't quite believe it either," the King of Dragons seconded.

Squirrel swept a disdainful glance over Zeke and the others. Then, it opened its mouth and sunk its teeth into the bone.

Crack! Boom!

Following a crisp snapping sound, the bone broke.

As the ancient supreme being's bone cracked, a bolt of thunder and a crack of lightning manifested, striking the ground beside Squirrel.

Consequently, an enormous dent appeared underneath Squirrel's feet even as the soil was burnt and turned jet-black.

Unable to escape in time, Squirrel was blasted by the remnant might of the thunderbolt and tumbled several times, ending up with a mouthful of dirt.

After taking a few rolls on the ground, it stood up and dusted itself. Sticking its hands on its hips, it stared at Zeke arrogantly and squeaked.

You're afraid now, huh?

"How adorable!" Lacey exclaimed.

That rendered Zeke speechless.

I reckon you must have misunderstood the meaning of "adorable." With a bite, it broke an ancient supreme being's bone and even sparked a thunderbolt. Such capability makes it a being we admire and idolize. Damn, one can never judge a book by its cover, for appearances are often deceiving!

Never had he imagined that such a pint-sized body actually contained invincible energy.

Going up against a warrior-like being like Squirrel would only be courting death.

Zeke, Quinlan, and even Fortuna promptly developed a healthy dose of fear toward Squirrel.

Squeak! Squeak! Squeak!

Squirrel started squeaking once more.

"Squirrel said it'd spare us if we were to leave immediately. Otherwise, it'd devour us whole, erasing us from existence," the King of Dragons translated.

Needless to say, Zeke was unwilling to leave empty-handed.

Besides, if they were to leave right then without obtaining a divine weapon, death would be the only end awaiting them.

He briefly mulled it over before saying to the King of Dragons, "King of Dragons, try asking Squirrel why it didn't stop Theos and the others when it was so powerful but allowed them to steal its chestnuts."

The King of Dragons squeaked out the question, and Squirrel squeaked back. its answer in turn.

"Squirrel claimed that Theos stole its chestnuts while it was away, so it didn't know about it. Otherwise, it would've long since devoured Theos and the others,” the King of Dragons translated.

Zeke's brows knitted together, for he caught something amiss. "If it didn't see Theos stealing its chestnuts, why would it suspect us? Put the question to it, King of Dragons.”

The King of Dragons did as ordered.

Squirrel started hemming and hawing. In the end, it panicked and threatened fiercely, "You better get the hell out of here! Otherwise, I'd really devour the lot of you. Grr!"

"Aw, it's so cute!" Lacey purred.

"I, too, feel that this squirrel isn't as powerful as we think. If it could really defeat us easily, it should've attained full sentience ages ago, considering its capabilities. But it's evident that it's only half-sentient at present and can't even communicate with us telepathically," Quinlan interjected.
