Chapter - 2916

Zeke uttered, "I'm glad you know that."

Both sides stood their ground, refusing to back down.

Theos sneered and let out a cold snort. "I highly doubt you can continue without needing rest. Once you shut your eyes, it'll be your doomsday! Tiger King, Leopard King, we'll take a break first while you keep watch!"

Tiger King and Leopard King inclined their heads in acknowledgment. "Leave them to us, don't worry!"

Theos cast a disdainful glare at Squirrel before lying down to rest.

Squirrel cautiously approached Zeke, saying, "I-I'm starting to feel tired. I can't hold on much longer. What are we gonna do?"

Quinlan turned his attention to Zeke.

At this stage, they could only rely on Squirrel's powerful teeth. If it were to close its eyes, Theos would take its life for sure.

Time was running out.

Feeling aggrieved, Zeke cast a glance at the river. Why aren't you showing up? Did I make a wrong judgment? Could it be that the one residing in the river is not actually him?

Zeke felt utterly helpless now.

Just when Zeke was at a loss, the ground suddenly rumbled. Is that an earthquake? How can an earthquake occur. in this place, though?

The seismic activity grew stronger and stronger, even awakening the slumbering Theos and the others.

Everyone turned their gaze in the direction of the sound.

In the distance, a pitch-black cloud was rapidly approaching in mid-air, shrouding half of the sky.

What on earth is that?

When the dark cloud came closer, everyone was thunderstruck. It's the death aura! An overwhelmingly thick cloud of death aura!

The death aura was now dozens of times, even hundreds of times, stronger than before. It had become so dense that it formed a dark cloud, ominously hanging over the sky, poised to descend upon the mortal realm at any moment.

Even from this distance, both people and primordial beasts struggled to breathe under the weight of the suffocating death aura.

Quinlan's terror was palpable, his throat parched with fear. "We're doomed. We're doomed! I don't think I can endure such an overwhelming death aura. Master, spirit pill! Please give me a spirit pill! Only a spirit pill can save my life now!"

The current circumstances posed a genuine threat to Quinlan's life.

Zeke did not dare to be careless. In this critical moment, he gave a spirit pill to Quinlan.

As for Zeke, he remained composed. In fact, he was even somewhat delighted. What perfect timing! The death aura doesn't have an effect on me and Lacey.

He even thought of seizing the opportunity to finish Theos and his cohorts off.

Theos and his allies grew anxious as the death aura descended, and they resorted to covert telepathic communication.

"D*mn it, what are we going to do next?"

"Sh*t, the death aura is too overwhelming! Even if we can withstand it, we won't be able to deal with Zeke and his people after."

"You fool! If the death aura is close enough to affect us, that means Zeke and his group will suffer the same fate. I have a strong intuition that they won't be able to withstand such a dense concentration of death aura. They will be consumed by it."

"Yes, that's a possibility. Even if Quinlan can endure it, Zeke might not."

"Ha! Let's watch them being consumed by the death aura then."

Theos took a deep breath and said, “I currently exist only in the spiritual sense, as my true body hasn't appeared, so my power is on par with Zeke's. However, there's a possibility that I might be consumed by the death aura later on, and I hope you all can assist me when the time comes."

Tiger King responded, "Don't worry, we're comrades on this battlefield. We'll not stand idly by and let you perish."

Theos said, "In that case, I thank you in advance. As long as I manage to get out of here alive, I'll gift all of you the precious spirit pills I've kept for years."

He did not believe they would protect him without any benefits. Therefore, he felt it necessary to promise them some rewards in return.

Upon hearing the words "spirit pills," Tiger King and the others' eyes lit up right away.

In their hearts, they silently vowed that as long as they could survive the ordeal, they would go all out to rescue Theos.
