Chapter - 2924

Zeke's expression turned grim once again. "What did Gods do that we humans have to keep them imprisoned?"

The water man laughed bitterly. "What did they do? They once invaded the humans and tried to wipe out the entire race! You tell me why we're keeping them imprisoned."

They tried to wipe out the entire human race? That's crazy!

"This place, Theos Island, used to be a battlefield where human warriors and God warriors fought against each other in a gruesome war," the water man elaborated. "Countless humans died at that time, and nearly all the human warriors were annihilated. Meanwhile, Gods only grew stronger without sacrificing much. But at one crucial. moment, the surviving human warriors created a formation by selfdestructing their spirit pills, and that was how they managed to contain Gods. Unfortunately, the formation has become much weaker after so many years, and we won't be able to keep Gods at bay for much longer. Once Gods escape, the lives of the human race will be threatened again."

Utter shock swirled within Zeke as he heard that.

So, there used to be many warriors in the olden days, but nearly all of them died fighting Gods. It's no wonder we don't have many warrior descendants now. The bloodlines were severed since long ago.

Theos Island-where humans and God used to battle-was now a place for humans to cage Gods.

"Are other humans equal to you in strength?" the water man asked. "If there were a few billion warriors of your caliber, then you might stand a chance against Gods."

A few billion warriors of my caliber? Is he joking? And even if there were that many people, we only might stand a chance.

The power of Gods was unimaginable.

Zeke sighed. "I'll be honest with you, Master. I'm the top warrior to currently exist, and there are only about ten other people in this world whose strength is on par with mine."

Hmm?

The water man was taken by surprise before heaving a disappointed sigh. “I knew it. I just knew it. Mankind's warrior bloodlines had ended long ago, so naturally, there wouldn't be any more warriors now. Once Gods emerge, the human race can do nothing but accept its inevitable destruction."

"Back then, I'd already predicted that after humans had lost all their warriors, all I could do was buy them more time-not help them avoid their tragic fate. It looks like your time has finally come," he added, sounding anguished.

Zeke and the others felt their stomachs drop.

Our time has come? Are we humans about to be wiped out? That can't be!

"Nothing is certain, Master! Surely, there's hope for us humans, right?" Zeke asked hastily. "Please guide us for the sake of the human race."

The water man shook his head. "There is no hope. The fact that mankind has continued to survive for thousands of years after the war is a miracle in itself. God warriors will soon re-emerge, and to them, humans are as feeble as ants. If you decide to kill an army of ants, do you think they'd survive?"

"Master Pietro told me that as long as I reconstruct dragon vein, we'd still have a sliver of hope in protecting Eurasia and preserving the human race."

"Reconstructing the dragon vein isn't a bad idea, but it's certainly not easy. I'll have you know that it took hundreds of Eternal Class warriors and hundreds of years just for mankind's dragon vein to materialize," the water man explained. "Your chances are low even if your entire race were to combine forces, let alone if you were to attempt it on your own."

"It won't be easy, but that doesn't mean it's impossible," Zeke insisted. "By the way, you mentioned hundreds of Eternal Class warriors. What rank is this class, exactly?"
