Chapter - 2931

Surprisingly, Theos didn't rush toward the Apex River either. Instead, he slowly turned to look at Erebus.

Erebus' heart skipped a beat when he saw Theos staring back at him. Sh*t! Sh*t! Theos wants me to be his lab rat, doesn't he?

As it turned out, Erebus was right.

"What are you waiting for? Drink from the river," Theos ordered.

"Um... Master, I'm not thirsty. I don't need to drink," Erebus replied frightfully.

"I ordered you to drink first so that I'll know if the water is safe," Theos said.

"I..." Erebus was tongue-tied.

"Don't forget that we had already signed a master-servant agreement. You'll suffer a horrible death if you disobey me," Theos uttered.

A wave of misery washed over Erebus. There's nothing left for me to say. I must obey his words.

With that in mind, Erebus slowly made his way toward the river. Fortunately, the pulling force in Apex River seems to have disappeared. Now, it's just an ordinary river.

Erebus jumped into the river, and everything seemed fine.

Therefore, he started to drink the water in the river.

Theos, however, wasn't in a hurry to get into the river. Instead, he stayed on the shore for a while to make sure everything was all right before drinking from the river.

The group continued forward after they had all finished drinking.

None of them knew what was awaiting them up ahead.

Meanwhile, Zeke had also crossed Apex River and continued his journey toward the ancient sector.

The further he and the others walked, the better the environment became.

At first, it was a barren land with no signs of life. After that, they started walking through bushes and forests.

In the end, they seemed to have arrived in a beautiful and scenic place filled with cheery sounds of chirping birds and the sweet scents of beautiful flowers. Needless to say, it was a peaceful and serene view.

Since it was an ancient battlefield on Theos Island, none of them expected such a place to exist.

Lacey was fascinated by the beautiful scenery, and she picked a bunch of flowers along the way.

Zeke was worried sick when he saw that. This place seems too peaceful and relaxing. I can't help thinking that danger is just around the corner.

It turned out that Zeke was right to be worried.

As he was walking, Lacey's hand, which he was holding in his hand, suddenly disappeared. I was holding Lacey! Where did she go? What's happening?

Zeke turned around in shock and learned that Lacey had disappeared into thin air. F*ck! D*mn it!

Zeke's heart was racing wildly when he asked Sole Wolf and Killer Wolf, who were behind him, "Sole Wolf, Killer Wolf, where's Lacey? What happened just now?"

Sole Wolf and Killer Wolf were stumped. "Lacey just vanished! We didn't see what happened!"

"Look for her!" Zeke demanded.

The three of them immediately split up and looked for Lacey.

However, there wasn't a single sign of human life in the area.

Squeak! Squeak! Squeak!

Squirrel suddenly squeaked. "Something fishy is going on here. There's something underneath the ground."

"What's the matter?" Zeke rushed toward Squirrel.

Squirrel started squeaking again.

King of Dragons translated and said, "According to Squirrel, its paws can sense everything that's going on under the ground. Moments prior, it heard Lacey shouting for help from underneath the ground."

Underground? Zeke immediately stared at the ground and cursed, "F*ck! Lacey must've fallen under! How did that happen? Sh*t! Something's definitely underneath."

Zeke wanted to smash the ground open, but he was worried that he might hurt Lacey. At that moment, he was at a loss. F*ck...

Suddenly, Killer Wolf let out an agonized scream, and the lower part of his body sunk into the ground.

Fortunately for Killer Wolf, he was a warrior, so he could use his energy to prevent getting pulled under completely.
