Chapter - 2937

Quinlan smiled. "Weren't you being stubborn before? Do carry on."

Aged Ginseng suddenly slapped its mouth hard. "I deserve to die! I've endangered the life of the DemiEmperor's descendant! I deserve death! I'm only alive by the grace of the heavens. Since I've dared to think of sullying the blood of a DemiEmperor's descendant, I deserve to be smitten! I am willing to bear the consequences of my actions. Please punish me, great Demi-Emperor!"

Quinlan looked at Lacey with a grin. "You know, this Aged Ginseng has lived for a very long time. If you consume it, it'll definitely improve your physique. I daresay you can enter the ranks of the martial artist right away if you wanted."

Lacey's expression shifted slightly.

Even though Aged Ginseng was a plant, it was now a humanoid shape.

How could Lacey possibly stomach eating something human-like?

Lacey immediately waved her hands. "No! Absolutely not! I can't just eat it! Besides, it did not even hurt me. So... it's fine."

Just then, Pietro and Zeke were engaged in a conversation through their spiritual senses. "Ginsengs believe that all the things in the world benefit from Demi-Emperor and that it's Demi-Emperor's spiritual energy that is holding the universe in place, nourishing all beings.

"Master, how do we deal with Aged Ginseng?" asked Zeke.

Pietro replied, "Ask it to join you and proceed to the ancient battlefield."

"I don't think Aged Ginseng has much fighting prowess," said Zeke. "I'm worried that it would only drag us down."

Pietro said, "Don't worry. It may seem weak on the surface, but the reality is that it is more powerful than all of you. The power of Ginsengs lies in its strong, rhizome-like roots. The roots of the young ginseng seedlings can penetrate through Heavenly Stone. I believe you've witnessed the power of Heavenly Stone firsthand. Even Squirrel's teeth are no match for the stone. Also, this Aged Ginseng has lived for millennia, and its roots have to be quite strong. However, the ancient battlefield is rife with danger. If you accidentally trigger a Restrictive Spell, there's no guarantee that Aged Ginseng's roots can break it."

"Secondly," added Pietro, "Aged Ginseng was a prized possession of the King of Eurasia. I think it will be quite familiar with the King's aura. Since the king blew himself up and fell on the ancient battlefield, it's likely that he may have left all or part of his legacy behind. Aged Ginseng will easily detect traces of the king's legacy. If you can obtain the king's legacy, your strength will skyrocket. I reckon the benefits are self-evident.”

Zeke nodded. "Thank you for your guidance, Master. I have benefited from this. However, Aged Ginseng may not willingly put himself in harm's way and follow us to the ancient battlefield."

"After the demise of King of Eurasia, nobody has since set foot into the ancient battlefield. Nobody has retrieved the king's remains either," said the water man. "Aged Ginseng is a loyal subordinate of King of Eurasia. I doubt it'd want to see the remains of the King just lying there. If anything, I think it would agree to accompany you to the ancient battlefield to retrieve the king's body."

Zeke nodded. "I understand."

He then turned to look at Aged Ginseng.

Right now, Aged Ginseng was apologizing profusely to Lacey.

Zeke then asked, "Aged Ginseng, let me ask you this. Are you willing to follow us to the ancient battlefield?"

Aged Ginseng looked at Zeke in surprise. "You want to go to the ancient battlefield?"

Zeke nodded.

"The ancient battlefield is full of dangers and there are Restrictive Spells everywhere. If you were to stray into one of the Restrictive Spells... To be precise, you will accidentally trigger a spell by mistake. When that happens, you will definitely perish. But why do you need to go to the ancient battlefield?"

"We're going on a hunt for a certain divine weapon," replied Zeke.

Aged Ginseng pondered over this for a moment and said, "I can accompany you to the ancient battlefield, but you have to agree to one condition."

"Tell me what it is," said Zeke. "I'll do my best to fulfill that condition if it is possible."

Aged Ginseng eyed Lacey and replied, "I hope that the descendant of Vassilios can stay here and receive the protection of my descendants. The ancient battlefield is very dangerous. If anything were to happen to her, even the death of my race won't be able to atone for my sins."
