Chapter - 2988

Sole Wolf's voice reached his ears.

After tremendous effort, Zeke finally managed to open his eyes.

The worried gaze of Sole Wolf fell within his sight.

Seeing Zeke open his eyes, Sole Wolf finally breathed a sigh of relief. "Zeke, you're finally awake. You almost scared me to death earlier."

Zeke studied Sole Wolf from head to toe and noticed that he was completely unharmed. He could not help but feel puzzled.

Sole Wolf had just been burnt to a crisp, then frozen until pustules formed, almost to the point of being unrecognizable as a human.

Even if he had regained his peak condition, his physical recovery speed should not be that fast.

Zeke quickly voiced the doubts in his heart.

Sole Wolf explained, "Zeke, what we just experienced was merely an illusion. We didn't actually teleport anywhere. We've been in the same place all along. There's no extreme cold, nor extreme heat, and our bodies are unharmed."

Zeke nodded thoughtfully.

Sole Wolf continued, "We should have realized earlier that it was all an illusion. Have you forgotten that you won't be affected by the death aura of death spirits at all? But in that environment, you were affected by it. What a huge oversight on our part, we didn't even notice..."

Zeke did not explain anything to Sole Wolf.

In fact, what just happened wasn't a real illusion, but a test set up by the King of Eurasia.

The pain endured in the illusion was real, testing both will and body. It just did not harm the body.

Suddenly, Zeke thought of something and quickly asked, "Sole Wolf, where is Lacey?"

Sole Wolf quickly reassured, "Don't worry, Lacey is very safe now. She's guarding the entrance of the cave."

Guarding the cave entrance?

Battling discomfort throughout his body, Zeke managed to stand up with great effort. He looked around and only then realized that he was inside a cave.

A person stood at the entrance of the cave. It was none other than Lacey.

Outside the cave, a fierce battle was raging, with the incessant roar of explosions filling the air.

Upon noticing Zeke getting up, Lacey was filled with joy and surprise. “Zeke, you're finally awake. Do you know you've been unconscious for over two hours?"

Zeke kept apologizing, “I'm sorry, Lacey. Lacey, are you okay?"

Lacey nodded, "Don't worry, I'll be fine. Zeke, you seem to be hurt, quickly sit down and tend to your injuries. Don't worry, the enemy can't hurt you."

Forcing a smile, Zeke reassured, "Lacey, don't worry, I'm not hurt. I just encountered something I can't even explain."

At this moment, he had reached the entrance of the cave. Looking out, he saw a fierce battle unfolding outside.

Quinlan, Aged Ginseng, Squirrel, and Draco formed a solid line of defense, warding off the attacks from Theos and Tiger King.

Draco's strength had significantly recovered. Although there was still a considerable gap compared to his peak condition, he could still hold his own in this line of defense.

Aged Ginseng was indeed powerful, but his strength lay in breaking through solid defenses. His offensive power was his weak point.

This bore a striking resemblance to that of Squirrel.

Sole Wolf and Killer Wolf were too weak. Even if they were sent to the front lines, they would only serve as cannon fodder. Therefore, the two were assigned to guard the cave entrance with Lacey.

In fact, Lacey alone was enough to guard the cave entrance.

If the enemy dared to barge in, they would have to confront Lacey.

But if Lacey were to be attacked, it would trigger her survival instinct, potentially causing harm to the attacker.

One could say, Lacey was like a door with Eternal Class power.

Unless the enemy destroyed the entire mountain, there was absolutely no way for them to break into the cave.

Seeing that Aged Ginseng and Quinlan were almost unable to hold on, Zeke patted Lacey on the shoulder and said, "Lacey, let me go out and help them."

Lacey was somewhat worried. She looked Zeke up and down before starting, "Zeke, your body..."

Zeke smiled slightly, "Don't worry, there won't be any problems."

All right then.

Lacey reluctantly stepped aside. "You must take care of yourself. Safety is paramount."
