Chapter - 3013

Chapter - 3013

Killer Wolf asked, "Zeke, why are you telling me all this?"

He had the impression that Zeke was explaining everything to him for a reason.

"Killer Wolf, your father was also a member of Nightingale Squad," Zeke replied solemnly.

Killer Wolf was shocked beyond belief. "But my father sacrificed himself for the country, didn't he? Is he really alive?"

Zeke nodded. “That's right. He belonged to the third division of Nightingale Squad."

Tears were already streaming down Killer Wolf's face. "My father is actually still alive. He is still serving under the Great Marshal."

"Your father is getting older, and I have tried more than once to persuade him to retire and enjoy his remaining years at home, but he has ignored my suggestion," Zeke said patiently.

Hearing that, Killer Wolf quickly said, "Zeke, you don't have to explain it to me. No one understands my father better than me. If he stays idle at home, it's as good as signing his own death warrant. It is better to let him thrive as he is."

Zeke smiled with relief. "Indeed. I'm glad you understand."

Meanwhile, Sole Wolf's voice message was broadcast across Eurasia via a special frequency channel.

The channel was, in fact, encrypted with Grade SSSSS encryption, making it impenetrable to interception. Even if someone were able to intercept the signal, they would be unable to decipher its contents.

The signal was received by one phone after another, with the recipients ranging from Zeke's "enemies" on the surface to ordinary merchants, office workers, and even farmers.

There were also some recipients who were long believed to be "dead" and should not exist in the world anymore.

Everyone had the same reaction after receiving the news. They were overwhelmed with excitement, their faces streaming with tears.

After hiding for so long and bearing the burden of humiliation for so long, they finally had the opportunity to exact their vengeance.

A storm was slowly brewing in Eurasia.

As autumn approached in Oakheart City, the weather grew colder.

The temperature that morning felt. even colder, especially after the previous night's rain.

Three figures stood out in the desolate and chilly streets. Two elderly people and a young child braved the cold wind to collect bottles.

Despite the cold weather, the three individuals were dressed in thin and inadequate clothing.

In comparison to the two elderly people, the young girl in the middle was wearing thicker clothing, but the clothes she was wearing belonged to the two elderly people.

The two elderly individuals were only wearing thin clothing and shivering from the cold.

A passerby happened to come across the scene, and when they saw the two elderly people and the young girl, they were overcome with emotion.

"I never would have imagined that the former Great Marshal's in-laws and daughter would have fallen to the point of scavenging for trash. It's truly tragic and lamentable," the passerby commented.

Indeed, those three individuals were none other than Lacey's parents, Daniel and Hannah, along with her daughter, Missy.

They had returned to their home in Oakheart City, but due to the accusations of Zeke betraying Eurasia, the people of their hometown treated them as public enemies. They were not welcomed or accepted, and they were eventually driven away.

Left with no other options, they were forced to make a living by scavenging for garbage.

Missy, who was about eight or nine years old at the time, was wise for her age. She took the initiative to assist Daniel and Hannah in their garbage scavenging.

Hannah couldn't help but feel upset.

Not only was the child still young and had no parents, but she was forced to live in poverty with them, relying on garbage scavenging to make ends meet.

As her grandmother, she felt a deep and piercing pain in her heart.

Feeling sorry, Hannah tenderly said to Missy, "Darling, you do not need to go garbage scavenging with us. Your grandfather and I are up to the task. It is a good chance for us to get some exercise and stay active."

However, Missy took a deep breath and said, “Grandma, I'm fine, really.”

Hannah was surprised when she heard Missy's voice.

She furrowed her brows and inquired, "Missy, why does your voice sound so weak?"

"Grandma, I feel so tired..." Missy replied.

She began to sway and fall to the ground as she spoke.

With quick reflexes, Daniel caught Missy in his arms. "Missy, what's wrong? Don't scare me like this. Missy, your forehead is very hot!"

Hannah, too, became flustered and quickly touched Missy's forehead.

In an instant, Hannah's face turned pale.

Missy's forehead was scorching hot.

"Oh no! Missy has a fever, and it seems quite severe."
