Chapter - 3049

Killer Wolf could only relent. "Well... all right, then."

Zeke's attention shifted back to Quinlan and Squirrel, and he proposed, "Would you two mind accompanying me on a little trip?"

Their response was an immediate refusal.

Quinlan lazily replied, "No time; can't you see we're busy?"

"This is an order. Dare you not obey?"

A chuckle escaped Quinlan's lips when he heard that. "Hehe, you might be able to command your subordinates, but you certainly have no authority to command me."

"I am ordering you as your master."

Quinlan found himself speechless.

A sense of sorrow enveloped his expression. How could he have forgotten that Zeke was his master? It was a painful realization that would linger in his heart.

Reluctantly, Quinlan and Squirrel had to comply with Zeke's request.

Following the path marked by the Nightingale Squad's Eighteen, they swiftly arrived at their destination.

The location was a secluded village deep within the mountains, where the air was filled with birdsong and floral fragrance. It was difficult to fathom that this seemingly tranquil village was under the control of the Netherworld.

As they arrived, the evening was descending the sun setting in the west, casting a dimming light.

Suddenly, a cottage's front door swung open, revealing an elderly woman.

Upon spotting Zeke and his companions, the old woman trembled involuntarily, her gaze evasive. However, she quickly regained her composure, turned around, and began to retreat.

On closer inspection, Zeke noticed something peculiar-there were two shadows emanating from her, an eerie phenomenon.

Zeke gave a smile that didn't reach his eyes and inquired, "Ma'am, are you not taking a stroll today? Why are you heading back so soon?"

The elderly lady paused, her head unmoving as she asked, "Who are you? What brings you here?"

"Just passing by here, looking for a drink of water," was Zeke's response.

The old lady replied indifferently, "There's no water here. Hurry on your way. This is not a place for you."

Zeke's smile remained faint as he questioned, "I'm curious to hear why this is no longer a place we should be."

The old lady retorted irritably, "Hmph, ignore the advice of your elders, and you'll face the consequences. I can't be bothered with you all."

With that, she began to retreat back into the house.

In a swift move, Zeke took a step forward, deliberately stepping on the old lady's shadow to her right. A piercing scream erupted from her lips, and she froze in place, her body trembling like a leaf.

"W-What are you doing? Get away from me now! I'm an old woman. If something were to happen to me, you... you wouldn't be able to afford it."

Zeke calmly asserted, "Ma'am, I didn't touch you. You can just go back to your house. I won't stop you.'

"Y-You..." the elderly lady stammered.

"What, still not admitting it? Don't think I don't know your secrets. Here's your chance now. Call your companions to help. Who knows, you might still have a chance to survive."

D*mn it!

The old lady cursed under her breath. "So, you actually know about the Shadowbone Sect!"

She then shouted into the distance, "Someone, come quickly, there's danger!"

The voice, loud and bell-like, resonated through the air, completely different from the voice of an old lady.

Soon, the chaotic sound of footsteps emerged from all directions, as hundreds of people surged in like a tidal wave, enclosing them entirely.

Without exception, every one of these people was a member of the Shadowbone Sect.

Quinlan, who had been engrossed in discussing card-playing strategies with Squirrel, only cast a glance at them after being surrounded by numerous individuals from the Shadowbone Sect.

"Shadowbone Sect of the Netherworld, huh? Heh, the most insignificant faction back in the day has now grown in scale, throwing its weight around in the mortal world."

At Quinlan's mention of "Shadowbone sect," the villagers' expressions underwent rapid changes.

"Who are you people, and how did you come to know of our existence?" questioned a person who appeared to be the village chief.

"We are the ones who will obliterate you," Zeke declared, taking a forceful step that caused the elderly lady's shadow to dissipate on the spot.

The elderly lady's eyes rolled back, and she collapsed onto the ground.

The villagers' expressions shifted abruptly, now filled with rage.

Without warning, Zeke had eradicated a fellow member of Shadowbone sect right in front of them.

D*mn it! How audacious and arrogant of him!

"Kid, how many of you are there? We outnumber you by a hundredfold. Do you really think you can stand against us?" The village chief's voice was cold.
