Chapter - 3138

The opulent and extravagant Whittaker estate was engulfed in a frenzy.

The inspection police officers, disheveled and injured, struggled to enter but were halted by the vigilant security team at the gates.

"Under Mr. Whittaker's orders, the Whittaker family is on Grade SSSSS alert. Entry to the Whittaker estate is prohibited. Violators will be dealt with mercilessly! We advise you to ´leave peacefully, or don't blame us for showing no mercy," said the security guard.

"Enough of this nonsense!" the inspection police officer snapped. "The head of the Whittaker family is on his deathbed, and he sent us back for help. How can he give orders to you? Let us in quickly. If anything happens to the head of the Whittaker family, you won't be able to bear the responsibility!"

Nevertheless, the security guard remained resolute. "Please don't make things difficult for us. Cooperate with our work. If you don't leave, don't blame us for taking strict action."

As his words hung in the air, he brandished his baton, indicating his readiness to enforce their rules.

There were roughly thirty security guards at the entrance, each exuding an air of toughness and capability. In contrast, the inspection police officers numbered only ten and were heavily wounded. In a potential confrontation, they stood little chance against the vigilant security guards.

The inspection police officers found themselves in a dire predicament, trapped between two unfavorable options.

Just as the situation appeared bleak, an enraged voice suddenly reverberated from within the Whittaker estate. “Who is causing this disturbance at the gate?"

The voice belonged to none other than the Whittaker estate's butler.

Moments ago, Braxton had received a frantic call from Fergus. The call had been abrupt and incoherent, leaving him utterly perplexed. As he was about to initiate a citywide search for Fergus, the clamor at the entrance only added to his mounting frustration.

Upon spotting Braxton, the inspection police officers' spirits were rekindled, and they pleaded, "Mr. Braxton, please help us. Save us."

Braxton furrowed his brow, surveying the battered inspection team. Their desperate pleas hinted at a connection to Fergus' distress call, a notion that nagged at him.

He inquired urgently, "Help? What precisely is happening?”

The officer swallowed hard before speaking, "Mr. Fergus... is in grave danger. Mr. Braxton, you must dispatch reinforcements immediately...”

Braxton realized that this was no time to involve outsiders. He responded with a commanding tone, “Come inside and explain.”

Braxton led them into the Whittaker estate, prompting the officers to divulge the details. "Please, tell me what occurred."

One of the officers obliged, saying, "Someone... has inflicted severe harm upon Mr. Fergus. He implored us to return and seek your assistance. Please, waste no time and rescue him."

Braxton urgently questioned, "Was it the Xenos family who assaulted Mr. Fergus?"

The officer shook his head, clarifying, "No, it was not the Xenos family."

Braxton clenched his fists, his voice filled with determination, "Hmph, in this realm, only the Xenos family can contend with the Whittaker family. Those who dare harm Mr. Fergus are courting their own destruction. I hereby grant you full authority within the Whittaker estate. Mobilize all available resources to save Mr. Fergus. Success is the only outcome we will accept; failure is not an option. If any harm befalls Mr. Fergus, you shall answer to me."

The officer wore a solemn expression, conveying, "Mr. Braxton, it might be futile. Even with the combined might of the Whittaker estate, we may not stand a chance against the adversary. Perhaps it is best if you personally intervene. We believe that sheer force may not resolve this situation."

Oh?

Braxton inquired, surprised, "Is the enemy exceptionally formidable?"

The officer nodded gravely, disclosing, "Indeed. We... couldn't even approach the individual; we were grievously injured without getting near."

In the end, Braxton made a resolute decision, his teeth gritted, "Extensive preparation pays off. It appears that Druno and Drados must be deployed."

The officer interjected anxiously, “Braxton, both Druno and Drados have already..."

A shiver coursed through Braxton's frame, and he stared at the officer in disbelief. "What has happened to them? Please don't tell me they failed..."

The officer nodded solemnly.

This is ridiculous!

Braxton couldn't fathom it. "The strength of Druno and Drados is renowned. They were elite even within the palace. Over the years, Mr. Fergus invested substantial resources in their training. Their power ranks among the highest in Eurasia..."

Just then, the officer interrupted Braxton, revealing the grim truth, "To be frank, Mr. Braxton, Druno and Drados didn't even withstand half a move against the adversary. The two of them didn't even approach their opponent; they perished just taking a few steps."
