Chapter - 3141

Maximus quickly inquired, "Where is the Prime Minister's body now?"

The inspection officers exchanged uncertain glances before simultaneously shaking their heads. "W-We don't know."

"Worthless fools!" Maximus cursed. "You failed to protect my son, and now you're clueless about the location of the Prime Minister's body. Do you prefer to end your lives, or shall I assist you?"

The inspection police officers fell to their knees, pleading, "Lord Maximus, we realize our mistake. Please give us a chance to make amends for our wrongdoings. Please spare our lives. We beg of you!"

Snap!

But Maximus, in one Swift motion, twisted off an officer's head. "I spared your lives, but who spared my son's life?"

The remaining inspection police officers took several steps back, their fear palpable.

In their desperation, they tried to assert their rights. "Lord Maximus, you... you can't kill us. We are inspection police officers, public servants of the nation. Let's not even mention that your Whittaker family holds no official position in Eurasia; even if you did, you wouldn't have the authority to enforce the law, let alone take our lives..."

"Haha!" Maximus laughed, his chilling laughter sending shivers through everyone present. “Are you debating rights with me? Sorry, but you're not qualified. A hundred years ago, the entirety of Eurasia was under our control. Although times have changed and dynasties have shifted, our influence still subtly permeates, hidden in every corner of the nation. We are the true puppet masters, and you, you're not even worthy of being our dogs!"

With those words hanging heavily in the air, Maximus issued a command. "Obsidian Tigris, kill them!"

"Understood!"

Suddenly, numerous individuals clad in black emerged from every corner, engaging the inspection team in a fierce and deadly battle.

Obsidian Tigris was an elite team of assassins personally trained by Maximus himself.

During his period of solitary training, Maximus had enlisted Obsidian Tigris to protect him. Their strength had grown significantly during this time, and a few mere inspection police officers were no match for them.

Amidst the chaos, agonizing screams filled the air as several inspection officers met their end in pools of blood.

Maximus, taking a deep breath, found himself strangely drawn to the scent of blood. He couldn't help but frown, uncertain why he had developed such a fascination with it.

Moreover, an inexplicable desire to embrace savagery, to consume raw flesh and drink blood, surged from the depths of his heart.

He knew this desire was far from normal. With a forceful effort, he suppressed the craving.

Maximus returned to his place of solitary training and ordered Obsidian Tigris, “Secure the estate. No one is allowed to enter or leave the Whittaker estate without my permission."

"Understood!"

The assassins of Obsidian Tigris dispersed, stealthily positioning themselves throughout the Whittaker estate, ensuring no one could enter or exit freely as Maximus resumed his quest to locate the Prime Minister's corpse.

Persistence paid off, and after extensive investigation, he finally discovered the location of the body: Cygnus Room.

Cygnus Room was a highly confidential facility, meticulously designed by the Great Marshal himself. It was a place of strict discipline, and even Maximus and the Prime Minister did not have unrestricted access.

However, no secret was absolute in this world. In his early years, Maximus had managed to win over a Cygnus Room staff member, investing a significant amount to turn him into his informant within the organization. A thousand days of training is for a moment of use. Now, that spy was about to prove his worth.

Maximus adjusted his emotions and, using a specialized communicator, contacted his informant. The communicator connected swiftly, and Maximus asked, “Northie, how have you been lately? Is it convenient to talk now?"

A deep, resonant voice responded from the other end, "May I ask who is speaking? It seems we are not acquainted."

"Northern Wolf, you have an uncanny talent for forgetfulness," Maximus countered. "Remember when we crossed Mount Snow together, traveled along the Jeahron River, and had a grand time at Lommore Tower? Have you forgotten all of that?"

These phrases, “crossed Mount Snow together," "traveled along the Jeahron River," and "had a grand time at Lommore Tower," were a secret code between Maximus and Northern Wolf.

Only when Maximus used this code phrase could Northern Wolf confirm his identity and ensure that Maximus was not contacting him under duress.
