Chapter - 3146

The entire construction of the Cygnus Room had been personally designed and implemented by Crimson Wolf. No one knew Cygnus Room better than him.

With Crimson Wolf's assistance, Northern Wolf effortlessly absconded with the Prime Minister's corpse, and not a soul within the Cygnus Room was any the wiser.

Following this successful operation, Northern“ Wolf promptly contacted Maximus.

"Lord Maximus, I have successfully secured the body. Please make arrangements for the exchange location immediately."

Maximus expressed his surprise, "That fast? I was expecting to wait a few days."

"Let's save the small talk and proceed with arranging the time and place as soon as possible. The Prime Minister's corpse is a highly sensitive matter, and the longer I hold onto it, the greater the risk of complications," Northern Wolf urged.

Maximus, however, remained cautious, inquiring, "Northern Wolf, are you absolutely certain everything is in order? You're not playing games with me, are you? Why don't you send me a picture of the Prime Minister's body?"

"You ask too many questions. Let's just initiate a video call."

"Very well, I'll make the arrangements immediately. Meet me at Pier Nine in ten minutes."

“Understood, I'm hanging up now.”

With that, the call concluded.

Ten minutes later, Northern Wolf arrived at Pier Nine, carrying the Prime Minister's lifeless body.

This dock had originally belonged to the Whittaker family but had been abandoned.

In fact, the Whittakers intentionally allowed it to fall into disrepair, as a neglected dock could generate more revenue than an operational one.

They had frequently used this deserted dock for smuggling operations, which had greatly enriched their coffers.

Upon reaching Pier Nine, Northern Wolf noticed a flickering beacon of light on a long abandoned, dilapidated ship. He recognized it as a signal from Maximus indicating his location.

Northern Wolf quickly made his way onto the ship and gently placed the Prime Minister's body on the deck. He scanned his surroundings with nerves on edge and called out, "We crossed Mount Snow together, traveled along the Jeahron River, and had a grand time at Lommore Tower. Show yourself, old friend."

Footsteps echoed, and several figures emerged from the darkness, encircling Northern Wolf.

It was none other than Maximus.

The first thing that caught his gaze was the person being carried on Northern Wolf's back.

However, the body was concealed inside a sack, preventing any identification of their true appearance.

Maximus approached, eager to inspect the sack, but Northern Wolf stopped him, saying, "Lord Maximus, please wait."

A frown etched itself across Maximus' visage as he questioned, "Northern Wolf, what's the meaning of this?"

Northern Wolf chuckled. "Lord Maximus, have you arranged for a ship to facilitate my escape abroad? We had an agreement, and I've delivered the Prime Minister's body as promised. I can't remain in Cygnus Room any longer, so you need to find a way to get me out of the country.”"

Maximus reassured him, saying, "It's a minor detail; I've already made all the arrangements."

With that, he clapped his hands, and soon a beam of light illuminated the vast expanse of the river surface. Upon closer inspection, one could discern that it was the glow from a submarine's lamp.

Northern Wolf laughed, remarking, "Lord Maximus, you truly are extravagant, even owning a submarine."

"It's a minor matter. May I examine the body now?"

"Please, go ahead.”

Without delay, Maximus instructed his subordinates to open the sack, revealing the lifeless form within.

It was indeed the Prime Minister.

Maximus breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that his son's life was now secure.

Consequently, Northern Wolf announced, "Lord Maximus, I'll be departing now. We will cross paths again in the future."

Suddenly, Maximus posed an unexpected question, "Northern Wolf, where are you planning to go?"

"Haven't I already told you? I can't stay in this country any longer; my plan is to go undercover abroad," said Northern Wolf.

Maximus sighed, "Northern Wolf, I don't believe that going abroad will keep you safe either. I intend to send you somewhere even safer."

"Where's that?"

"The afterlife."

Northern Wolf's pupils immediately constricted, and he cautiously took a step back, demanding, "What do you mean by this?"

"Northern Wolf, I am well aware of Cygnus Room's capabilities. Sooner or later, they will trace this operation back to you and apprehend you. Don't think that fleeing abroad will ensure your safety; they can locate you anywhere in the world. Once they capture you, they will undoubtedly trace it back to my family. In short, as long as you remain in this world, I will never have peace of mind," said Maximus.

Subsequently, he concluded gravely, "So, I intend to send you to the afterlife. Only then can I truly find peace."
