Chapter - 3147

Northern Wolf clenched his teeth and retorted, "Maximus, you're burning bridges behind you, being ungrateful. Aren't you afraid of suffering in the afterlife?"

Maximus dismissed such concerns, stating, "Matters of the afterlife are of no concern to the living. It's a waste of effort. However, since we are comrades in arms, I won't let your death be in vain. Share your final words, and I'll do my best to fulfill your last wish."

"Are you so sure you can kill me?" Northern Wolf challenged.

Maximus glanced at his subordinates, who swiftly drew their firearms, aiming them directly at Northern Wolf.

"Joining the Cygnus Room requires exceptional abilities, indeed. But even if you were a superhuman, you wouldn't withstand a hail of bullets, would you?"

Northern Wolf acknowledged, "Of course, I can't endure that. However, do you think joining Cygnus Room only demands physical strength? No, it also demands intelligence and strategic thinking. Lord Maximus, I'm well aware of your ambitious nature, so I made preparations in advance."

As soon as Northern Wolf concluded his statement, Maximus' subordinates suddenly looked at him with terror-stricken faces, their eyes widening. One of them stammered, "Lord Maximus, you..."

Maximus' expression shifted, and he demanded, "What's happening?"

A bodyguard pointed at Maximus' forehead, trembling as he spoke, "Lord Maximus, there's a sniper aiming at you. The laser dot is right on your forehead."

Maximus became even more flustered but quickly regained his composure. He took a deep breath, composed himself, and locked his gaze onto Northern Wolf. "Northern Wolf, I'm impressed. The talents from Cygnus Room are indeed extraordinary."

"Likewise," responded Northern Wolf.

Maximus continued, "Northern Wolf, my earlier words were just a jest. Please don't take them to heart. It's time to board the ship and depart. I've already secured a property for you abroad. You can live overseas, indulge in fine dining, and enjoy the rest of your life."

Northern Wolf, however, chuckled coldly, saying, "I can't afford to enjoy your favors. I still want to live a few more years. Maximus, this is where we part ways. I hope we never cross paths again."

Maximus shrugged, offering no further words.

With that, Northern Wolf turned and swaggered away.

Maximus' subordinates looked to their leader for guidance on the next steps. However, Maximus gestured for them not to act hastily.

Jokes aside, a laser dot was currently aimed at his forehead, and had no doubt that the sniper wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger if provoked.

The person arranged by Northern Wolf was likely to be just as ruthless and determined as himself.

Moreover, Maximus' objective today was to save his son, not to eliminate the Northern Wolf.

Once Northern Wolf was out of the danger zone, the laser dot on Maximus's forehead disappeared.

Maximus swiftly ordered, "Quickly, transfer the Prime Minister's body onto the ship."

His subordinates promptly moved the body onto the prearranged vessel. Afterward, Maximus dismissed everyone from the boat and sailed alone into the depths.

Once he ensured no one was around, Maximus set the ship to autopilot and brought the Prime Minister's body into the cabin.

The ship's interior was set up like an elaborate altar. At its center lay a large formation surrounded by white wax candles, red loach blood, and wind chimes traditionally used for summoning spirits.

Thick smoke had filled the entire space, and the eerie sound of wind chimes sent shivers down one's spine.

And there was also a corpse.

However, Maximus had long since grown accustomed to this.

He positioned the Prime Minister's lifeless body in the center of the grand formation and sat cross-legged with his eyes closed, whispering incantations while clutching a burning talisman.

This continued for several minutes, with Maximus hearing strange gulping sounds emanating from the Prime Minister's throat.

Maximus' excitement grew. He knew he had established a connection with Black Reaper and was on the verge of summoning it. He continued to chant with even greater intensity.

Finally, after another ten minutes, the "corpse" of the Prime Minister abruptly sat up halfway and opened its eyes.
