Chapter - 3169

Blade sat outside the deserted house, sipping tea amidst the cold wind.

They could no longer discern the taste of tea or feel any difference between hot and cold. Yet, they were willing to go through the motions to experience the feeling of being normal again.

When he had finished the pot of tea, two ghostly figures gradually approached from a distance before finally stopping just ten meters away.

Without a doubt, the newcomers were his friends, Webster and Woody.

The two men dared not draw close recklessly.

Blade chuckled. "Is this a sign that you don't trust me, old friends?"

Webster grinned at him. "Well, better safe than sorry. Given that we're meeting in this unfamiliar environment, it's best to be cautious."

Woody seconded, "It's not that we don't trust you, Blade. We're just worried that there might be others lurking around, unbeknownst to even you."

"Rest easy. I've scouted the area several times, and there's no one hiding in the shadows. But if the two of you are still uneasy, feel free to investigate by yourselves," Blade replied.

Webster and Woody took him at his words and carefully examined the surroundings.

Given their meager capabilities, it was naturally impossible for them to detect the presence of Zeke and Sole Wolf.

Failing to detect any danger, they relaxed their guard. They sat down and enjoyed tea with Blade, admiring the view and engaging in conversation.

That was their only form of entertainment.

As time passed, they were almost done drinking tea.

Webster started, "It's getting late, Blade. Shouldn't we start off to the Holy Place now?"

"Yeah, it's indeed about time. Let's go," Blade replied.

Thus, they all prepared to set off.

However, no sooner had Webster and Woody taken a step that they suddenly shuddered and halted in their tracks. They swung their eyes to the left.

They had just startlingly noticed a surge of positive energy coming from the left.

Their first thought was that there were humans lying in ambush all around them.

D*mn it! If there are really people lying in ambush around here, we're in big trouble. We're both absolutely top-notch in terms of capabilities among the humans, at least invincible in the Ultimate Class. If even we didn't notice the other party's presence, their capabilities must be several times greater than ours. Could we still survive when targeted by such powerful warriors?

Their only hope then was they were mistaken, and no one was lying in ambush.

Alas, it was always one's greatest fear that came to pass.

Two figures emerged from the dense and distinct darkness of the night. "Wouldn't you two have some more tea?"

Sure enough, there are others here!

A loud buzz filled Webster and Woody's heads, and their first instinct was to flee.

However, as Zeke unleashed a surge of energy, it bore down on them like a towering mountain. They were instantly pinned to the ground, rendered immobile.

Despair promptly inundated them then and there.

Oh God, how could these two men's energy be so intense and heavy that we are absolutely powerless to resist? We're doomed. Now that we've encountered supremely powerful warriors, escaping is out of the question. Even a swift death would be a luxury. Oh yes, Blade. It was that d*mn Blade who screwed us over!

They cut their eyes at Blade.

With an apologetic expression, Blade said, "I'm sorry, gentlemen. I had no other choice either."

What a b*stard!

Webster gritted his teeth so hard that blood seeped from between them. "How dare you betray us! Just wait. Master is going to rip you into pieces!"

"I'm afraid Master might be unable even to fend for himself this time," Blade lamented.

At once, Webster and Woody fell silent.

He makes a good point. Master might not necessarily be these two humans' match. We're truly dead.

Zeke and Sole Wolf stepped forward, carefully and seriously scrutinizing Webster and Woody.

Aware that they had no chance of surviving, Webster and Woody decided to end their own lives.

Zeke immediately restrained them more strongly with his energy.

Both of them promptly found it hard to breathe, let alone do anything to commit suicide.

"Gentlemen, we need to borrow your identities now. We hope you can accommodate us," Zeke stated.

Webster and Woody were extremely frustrated.

Is this borrowing? This is coercion! But how can identities be borrowed? And why do they want to borrow our identities?
