Chapter - 3189

"Wait!" Zeke suddenly waved his hand. "Listen."

What? Felix was taken aback for a moment.

Zeke said, "Listen carefully."

The scene immediately fell silent, with everyone straining their ears to listen.

Boom, boom, boom!

In the distance, they could hear the faint, muffled sounds rapidly approaching.

They all wondered what that sound was.

Felix knew something was off about the sound. and immediately ordered his subordinates. "Send someone to check the situation."

"Understood!" his subordinates replied.

Taking advantage of that moment, Zeke pulled out his phone and made a call.

He was indeed calling the president.

The call connected quickly.

Zeke said, "Mr. President, there's something I'd like to confirm with you."

The president replied, "Speak."

"May I ask if it was you who appointed Felix to succeed the position of prime minister?”

"That's right. I have formally notified him."

Zeke was speechless. What's going on? What game is Mr. President playing? Didn't we put in a lot of effort to set up a trap? Didn't we invite the oversight advisor, state secretary, and others to repel the decision to allow Felix to succeed as the prime minister? Why did Mr. President suddenly change his mind, allowing Felix to succeed as prime minister?

Zeke couldn't help but laugh and cry at the same time. “Um... What exactly are you trying to say, Mr. President?"

The president said, "Oh, it's nothing really. I just think Felix has both good character and exceptional abilities, capable of shouldering

the position of prime minister. That's why I let him inherit the position. What's the matter? Do you have any objections?"

"Mr. President, you may not fully understand Felix. This guy lacks integrity. He's lawless, abuses power for personal gain, and cannot be trusted with important responsibilities. Of course, this is not the most important thing. Most importantly, he abused his power for personal gain, and used military force to suppress me on his own accord."

"Oh?" The president feigned surprise, saying, "He dared to commit such a heinous act? I really must have misjudged him. Is Felix currently surrounding you? Is he nearby?"

Zeke nodded. "That's right."

"Turn on the speakerphone. I want to talk to Felix."

"Felix can hear you, Mr. President."

The president reprimanded, "Felix, you are audacious. I appointed you as the prime minister to serve the people. Yet, you're abusing your power, even suppressing the Great Marshal. What punishment do you think you deserve?"

Felix snapped, "I think you're the one who deserves punishment for daring to impersonate Mr. President! It's a crime deserving of death! I will report this matter truthfully to Mr. President. Just wait, you and Zeke will be punished!"

"You b*stard!" The president was furious. "Felix, you have quite the nerve."

"You don't scare me." Felix impatiently said, "If you're brave enough, tell me your name. I'll come find you."

"No need. I will contact you again.”

The call ended.

Felix glared at Zeke. "Hmph, do you know it's a capital offense for someone to impersonate Mr. President?"

Zeke also laughed. "I'm not sure if I'm guilty of a capital offense, but you're certainly doomed for insulting Mr. President."

At last, Zeke understood why the president wanted Felix to inherit the position of prime minister.

The president was worried that the matters of the state secretary and oversight advisor would be exposed, startling Felix. If Felix learned of their plan, he would escape, which wasn't what the president wanted.

Hence, it was a better choice to allow Felix to succeed as the prime minister first so he wouldn't bolt.

At worst, they just needed to get rid of him when the time came.

Felix couldn't be bothered with idle chatter anymore. With a grand wave of his hand, he commanded, "Everyone, listen up, turn this bastard into ashes-"

Before he could finish speaking, his phone suddenly rang.

Upon hearing Felix's command, all the soldiers immediately loaded their tank shots, ready to fire.

However, upon glancing at the incoming call number, Felix shivered all over. He quickly gestured with his hand. "Stop! Stop right now."

The incoming call wasn't from just anyone. It was from the president.

Felix's heart was in a state of turmoil. Why is Mr. President calling me right now? Is it a coincidence? Was it really the president on the phone earlier? No, it must've been just a coincidence. It must be!
