Chapter - 3318

"Fine."

With a helpless shrug, Zeke said, "Do as you please."

One of the team members suggested, "Captain Octantis, since we arrived, we haven't had a proper feast to celebrate our first expedition out of the mountains. I heard that the meat of Cloud Tigers is delicious. Why not seize this opportunity and have a feast?"

The rest of the team members also chimed in, "Yes, Captain, we agree. It's time to celebrate our first victory?"

Octantis said, "No, we just killed a Cloud Tiger. The smell of blood will attract other enemies. Everyone, quickly gather the Cloud Tiger's meat. We'll go somewhere else to cook and eat it."

Everyone complimented in unison, "The captain's foresight is truly commendable."

"Indeed, he is the captain we personally chose."

"Do as the captain said."

Zeke spoke again. "If I were in your shoes, I would never eat the meat of the Cloud Tiger."

At this point, Octantis was somewhat infuriated and embarrassed.

"You've repeatedly gone against us, is it because you look down on us?"

Zeke said, "I'm not trying to oppose you. I'm only doing this for your own good."

For our own good?

Octantis gave a bitter smile, "Alright then, why don't you tell us how this is for our own good? Are you insisting that we starve to death here?"

Zeke said, "Everyone knows that Cloud Tigers are a united race and have never shown mercy to their enemies. In fact, they possess a unique ability they can detect the scent of their companions from a great distance. If you've consumed the flesh of a Cloud Tiger, its companions would be able to smell it. Once you encounter each other on the battlefield, you will surely face tremendous hostility from them. This is also why we never eat Cloud Tiger meat."

Octantis, however, couldn't be bothered with Zeke's advice. "Hmph, I've set my mind on eating this Cloud Tiger today. If the Cloud Tigers target us, then so be it. Whoever targets us will be killed. As humans, the last thing we should fear is the enemy! Do everything as I've instructed!"

Octantis subordinates stepped forward one after another, slicing off pieces of meat from the Cloud Tiger's body as trophies of victory.

Zeke clearly noticed that Cloud Tiger cub would occasionally glance at the slain Cloud Tiger, a glimmer of light flickering in its eyes.

Zeke immediately concluded that the Cloud Tiger cub had undoubtedly awakened its spiritual intelligence. It had been enduring in silence for the sake of survival, and its patience was remarkably strong.

It could even watch, wide-eyed, as their loved ones were killed and eaten without uttering a word.

Often, such demonic beasts are the most terrifying. This Cloud Tiger cub is certain to bring a deadly disaster upon the team. Ah, forget it. Let's just let the cub teach these people a good lesson. If they don't experience hardship now, all that awaits them will be death once they step onto the real battlefield.

Thereafter, the group, carrying their spoils of war, left the scene.

After traveling for half a day, at Octantis's suggestion, everyone took a break right. They set up a fire and began to roast the meat of the Cloud Tiger.

The tantalizing aroma of the barbecued meat quickly filled the air, capturing the undivided attention of everyone present.

Once the meat was thoroughly cooked, Octantis announced, "The food is ready." Everyone immediately began to eat ravenously, as if they had starved for days.

"Mmm, the taste is excellent, better than any delicacy I've ever had."

"No wonder the Cloud Tigers we used to hunt down were never allowed to be eaten by us. The instructors must have kept them all to themselves because they are extremely delicious."

"In the future, we must hunt for more Cloud Tigers on the battlefield so that we can bring back some meat for our fellow disciples to taste.

"What's so special about Cloud Tiger meat? I've heard that the meat of a Flying Lions is the most delicious. Let's hunt a Flying Lion one of these days to taste it."

"Alright, it's a deal!"

Everyone began to envision a bright future, yet no one noticed that the claws of the Cloud Tiger cub had already burrowed into the ground.

Zeke had been sitting off to the side, meditating and cultivating. He turned a blind eye to the delicious delicacies in front of him.

Octantis handed Zeke a piece of meat, saying, "There, you don't have to push yourself so hard. Eat something first to fill your stomach. We'll give you some guidance later. I assure you it'll be more useful than ten years of toiling away on your own."

Only then did Zeke open his eyes. He glanced at the Cloud Tiger meat and shook his head. "I'm sorry. I don't eat Cloud Tiger meat. You guys go ahead. I'll take a look around!"

As he spoke, Zeke rose to his feet. Under the watchful eyes of the crowd, he walked away.
