Chapter - 3340

"Oh, Aretta, I've been framed! Although I did rob that shameless scoundrel called Zeke, I didn't take anything from him. On the contrary, he's the one who stole from me."

Before Aretta could speak, Zeke had already taken the lead and said, “Anvindr, you spout nothing but nonsense, taking advantage of my status as a mere novice cultivator. Thankfully, Octantis was willing to stand up for me. Otherwise, where would I voice my grievances? I fear I would have fallen into your hands long ago."

His words elicited sympathy from everyone present. Vela also came over and offered a word of comfort.

"Zeke, you have made many sacrifices for the human race, even defending us all from the ferocious Cloud Tiger. We will never forget your kindness."

Zeke gave a gentle smile, "You truly are understanding, Vela."

At that moment, Aretta, who had been silent, suddenly asked, "He helped you guys fend off the attack of the ferocious Cloud Tiger and saved your lives?"

Vela gave a slight nod, recounting the details of the incident meticulously.

After a moment of silence, Aretta responded with a faint hum. This response, however, was noticeably less hostile, something everyone could sense.

"Anvindr," called Aretta.

"Yes, Aretta?" There was a plea in Anvindr's eyes as he looked at Aretta, hoping she would believe his words.

However, Aretta said coldly, "Anvindr, regardless of whether your words hold truth. or falsehood, I have no desire to investigate this trivial matter. Compensate Zeke and offer him an apology. Let's put this matter to rest.”

"But, Aretta, I..." Anvindr was incomparably distressed.

He had nothing of value to offer. All my magical objects have been stolen by Zeke, so what could I possibly offer as compensation?

Seeing that he made no move, Aretta said impatiently, "What's the matter with you? I'm in a hurry to get on the road. If I hadn't bumped into you, do you think I would have stopped? Don't think I'm unaware of your little schemes. It's not necessarily through robbing others that one gains rewards, understand?"

She had already spoken quite frankly.

Clearly, she was aware of Anvindr's habitual offenses. She understood that once he entered the Secret Realm of Mount Kush, he would choose to rob cultivators, vying for their treasures.

Anvindr took a deep breath, knowing that she wouldn't believe him no matter what he said. He could only nod helplessly.

"Sure thing, Aretta, but, could you possibly lend me a thing or two of value? I was truly robbed, and I don't have anything of worth left on me."

At this point, Anvindr was so upset that he wanted to cry, but no tears came out.

After a moment of silence, Aretta found it odd that Anvindr really didn't even have his storage ring anymore, but she didn't dwell on it.

After all, in the Secret Realm of Mount Kush, encountering formidable enemies and being robbed was quite normal. It was an inevitable occurrence. Being able to save one's own life was already quite fortunate.

Aretta casually tossed out a blue crystal and said, “All right. Consider this as compensation. However, think of it as a loan from me. You'll have to find a way to repay it in the future."

The blue crystal was entirely translucent, emanating a pure blue light and aura.

This was the crystalline core of a ferocious beast.

Its functions were numerous, it could be used for refining tools, cultivation, and so on.

The value of this one was likely substantial, given the power of the crystal. With just a slight sense, one could tell it was equivalent to the strength of a Sun and Moon Class cultivator.

Even Octantis found himself desiring it.

After receiving the crystalline core, the expression on Anvindr's face had turned significantly gloomy.

He truly hadn't expected that Aretta would casually throw away such a treasure.

It seemed that after Vela narrated the deeds of Zeke earlier, Aretta also developed a bit of fondness for Zeke.

He gently touched the blue crystal, his heart filled with immense regret.

"I'm sorry, Zeke. Here, this is for you!”

Anvindr glared fiercely at Zeke, tossing the crystal straight at him.

Even though it was an apology, it came across as incredibly arrogant.

"Thank you!"

Zeke's face broke into a delighted smile, and he quickly expressed his gratitude to Aretta.

Upon seeing Zeke's actions, Aretta gave a slight nod.

"My friend, there's no need for formalities. I hope you find good fortune in the Secret Realm of Mount Kush. The greatest enemy within it isn't our own kind, but the ferocious beasts. This is not only a message for you but for everyone else as well."
