Chapter - 3341

Aretta's words caused ripples in everyone's hearts.

Indeed, in the face of a greater adversary, they should have set aside their differences and united as one.

However, it seemed too early to discuss such matters at that time.

After all that, Aretta vanished without a trace. Alongside her disappearance, the oppressive gale that had been swirling around them gradually subsided to a calm.

Anvindr's eyes were filled with resentment as he glared at Zeke and Octantis, making it clear that he hated both of them.

Between the two of them, the person he despised most would be Octantis, without a doubt.

That came as no surprise, for Zeke hadn't intended to kill him, but Octantis almost made a move against him. Thus, it was no wonder that he harbored greater resentment toward Octantis.

"Just you wait. You'll better hope I don't run into you again, Zeke, Octantis. Today, I merely didn't have any magical objects with me. But once I do, you'll regret crossing me!"

Having said that, Anvindr hastily made his escape.

Octantis glowered at the man's retreating figure, his expression turning icy.

"Don't let me see you again, or I'll kill you!"

He was also resentful toward Anvindr. The latter's parting words, particularly, completely infuriated him.

"Don't be upset, Octantis. Peace brings fortune," Zeke said with a smile.

He didn't care about Anvindr's words, paying it no mind inwardly.

Unexpectedly, Octantis only grew increasingly enraged at Zeke's attempt at consoling him.

He countered furiously, "Do you think I couldn't have taken him down? If it weren't for your mediation today, Zeke, I could have even defeated Aretta."

The corners of Zeke's mouth twitched.

You sure are stubborn, aren't you? If it weren't for timely intervention earlier, a civil war would have broken out among humans. my

In truth, he didn't mind them fighting, but the Secret Realm of Mount Kush was teeming with ferocious beasts, so the strength of humans was relatively insignificant in comparison.

In order to preserve everyone's strength, he had no choice but to intervene.

"All right, since everything is settled now, I'll take my leave first."

Seeing that the matter had been resolved, Zeke had no intention of staying any longer. As he spoke, he made to leave.

Upon seeing that, Octantis immediately frowned. "Zeke, why don't you follow us? What if you were to run into danger again? At least with us around, we can protect you."

Since his previous plan of having Zeke scout ahead had become useless, Octantis didn't want him to leave, let alone hand the compass to him again.

This was his magical weapon, and he had almost lost it once. He dared not recklessly hand it over to anyone else again.

Moreover, Zeke had survived numerous close calls, leaving him feeling uneasy. This time, he was determined to take matters into his own hands as it was the only way he could rest easy.

Zeke could easily discern his thoughts and simply responded with a sly smile upon hearing that.

"Your concern for me is truly flattering, Octantis. To be honest, I'm not sure if that Cloud Tiger did anything to me. After all, its power is immense. For everyone's safety, I'm willing to leave you all. Please don't dissuade me anymore."

His words deeply moved Vela and the others.

He's truly noble! For the sake of humans, he's going out all, willingly risking everything!

In Vela's heart, Zeke seemed more like an idol at that moment.

"How about I protect Zeke?" She bit her lip lightly and stepped forward with a hesitant expression on her face.

"No way!" Octantis blurted reflexively.

"Why not, Octantis?"

"You are a disciple of Southern Martial House, and your safety is important. Being with Zeke isn't safe. If anything were to happen to you, how could I explain it to the elders?"

Octantis' words were a mix of truth and falsehood, but there was a hint of sincerity in them.

Vela was too weak and was probably on par with Zeke. Therefore, going with the latter was far too risky.

He couldn't quite understand what had gotten into Vela that she would even consider protecting Zeke.

Unbeknownst to him, when a woman idolized someone, she could lose her sanity, much like a stars truck fan.

The candidness and righteousness exhibited by Zeke all this while had thoroughly convinced Vela that he was a great hero.
