Chapter - 3359

"It was that black temple. We thought it held some sort of opportunity, so we decided to venture in during the daylight. Not only did we set up a combined formation for protection, but we also took numerous precautions, always ready to flee at a moment's notice." As the woman spoke, fear began to creep into her eyes. Voice trembling, she said, "But that black temple was so strange. As soon as my senior entered, he melted away. Even his soul shattered. There were even creatures from the Dark Swamp appearing around us and surrounding us. After enduring two days of intense battle, everyone was utterly exhausted and eventually wiped out. Only I, using the Faux Death Technique, was fortunate enough to escape this calamity narrowly."

At that point, she couldn't help but sob uncontrollably.

Zeke let out a sigh and offered words of comfort. "The Dark Swamp is treacherous. Perishing is one of the anticipated outcomes. I'm sorry for your loss."

"Indeed. No one wants to see such a thing happen." Elvis shook his head/ "But since it has already occurred, we must accept the reality. Don't be too heartbroken. We will protect you."

Everyone comforted her continuously for quite some time until, at last, the woman finally managed to stop sobbing.

At that moment, Zeke and his two companions' faces turned considerably solemn as they began to ponder the matter of the black temple.

"There's no library available to reference the relevant information."

"Perhaps we don't have the authority to access the relevant information. Those top prodigies might have a slight inkling."

"Zeke, should we continue onward, or should we stay outside? After all, Demonic Lotus has little to do with us. We've already gained quite a bit from being outside, which could be considered a decent opportunity."

Upon hearing their words, Zeke gave a shake of his head. "No, I feel it's still necessary to press on. We can't back down just because of some dangers. How did those top prodigies manage to penetrate the frontier, and why did they venture in? Is it merely for the Demonic Lotus? There's definitely something amiss here. We must fight for it!"

Zeke glanced at the other three and continued solemnly, “I won't force any of you. If anyone wants to back out, feel free to leave. I'll provide you with some flags imbued with concealment formations, enough to ensure your safe escape. However, if you choose to stay, you must not think of retreating easily.”

Upon hearing that, everyone exchanged glances.

Anvindr was the first to step forward, smiling as he said, “Zeke, we've spent quite a few days together. Despite our previous disagreements. I've come to realize that you are a man of great integrity. I believe it's worthwhile to follow you in this quest for an opportunity. I'm not leaving."

His actions were beyond Zeke's expectations.

"All right."

With Anvindr stepping forward, Elvis also let out a hearty laugh.

"Zeke, I had originally planned to venture deep into the hinterland. Retreating at the first sign of trouble isn't my style. If worst comes to worst, I'll just avoid that black temple in the future. You've said it yourself. Those top prodigies didn't just stumble into the frontier's heartland. It must have been more than just the allure of the Demonic Lotus. There has to be some grand opportunity at play. Otherwise, not everyone would have been so eager."

The trio had no intention of backing down at that point.

And so, everyone's gaze returned to the woman.

The woman's face showed signs of discomfort and hesitation. It was clear she was somewhat reluctant to venture further into the heartland. After all, she had experienced a life-or-death battle.

After a moment of silence, the woman let out a soft sigh. "Since all of you have decided to press on, I'm willing to follow. However, I hope you can look out for me as my abilities are currently limited."

Her abilities are limited? Zeke couldn't help but chuckle, as he had already sensed the woman's strength. Once she recovers, she'll be a formidable Sun and Moon Class warrior. She must be skilled. Otherwise, she wouldn't have escaped from death. She's likely a formidable presence even among the Duality Sect cultivators.

Figuring she was just pretending to be weak, Zeke dared not underestimate her.

"What's your name, my friend?" Zeke asked for the woman's name.

"My name is Frostine Beaulieu, and I hail from Duality Sect."

"What's your expertise?"

"Bewitchment Technique and Frost Technique."
