Chapter - 3396

"Vela, I've warned you time and time again. Don't blame me for being ruthless."

"Hey!"

Vela's face turned pale. Did Octantis mean he would also harm her?

"Ha!" Vela chuckled self-mockingly after a moment of bewilderment. "I thought you, Octantis, were a righteous person. I didn't expect you to be the same as those demonic cultivators. I can't believe I used to respect you as a senior. If you want to take action, go ahead. I'm not scared of you!"

As she spoke, a steadfast determination surfaced in Vela's beautiful eyes. Her pretty face displayed a resolve that was ready to face death, standing upright in front of Zeke and the others. She drew out her own weapon for battle.

Octantis clenched his fists, his gaze filled with hesitation and inner conflict.

Had it not been for Vela, being on Zeke's side, he would have struck long ago. There was no way he would have given Zeke the time to prepare his defenses.

He felt that he had already sacrificed too much for Vela.

He had given her a considerable portion of the heaven's energy he had collected before, regardless of others' opinions.

Vela had been repeatedly going against him. Even though he was quite fond of Vela, at this moment, his patience was wearing thin.

"Vela, I would never harm a fellow disciple. After I knock you unconscious, I will deal with Zeke and his followers. I promise I will explain everything to you later. You'll understand the hardship I have been going through."

With a sigh, Octantis steeled his gaze, readying himself to take action.

Suddenly, Vela pulled out a badge, instantly crushing it in her hand, while simultaneously beginning to transmit a message through telepathy.

"Master, if I die, it must be Octantis' doing!"

Carrying her voice, the badge turned into starlight and disappeared.

After doing all this, she took out a dagger and placed it against her own neck, smiling sadly at Octantis.

Octantis, go ahead. As long as you dare to strike, I'll take my own life. You don't need to kill me."

A chill ran down Octantis' spine.

He recognized that badge. It was used to convey final words to one's master before perishing. She only had one, and he also had one.

He didn't expect Vela to use it directly and say such words.

If Vela truly perished, when he returned, he would definitely be unable to explain himself and would be killed by Vela's master.

He knew how much Vela's master adored her.

Even if his master tried to stop her, it probably wouldn't have made a difference.

"Is it worth it, Vela?" There was a noticeable tremor in Octantis's voice.

He didn't dare to kill Vela, even though his original intention was just to knock her unconscious.

It had backfired on him. Even if he managed to harness heaven's energy, he wouldn't gain much benefit from it. After this, it was likely that Vela would become his sworn enemy.

Unable to bear it any longer, Zeke swiftly moved to Vela's side, promptly taking the dagger from her.

"Vela, what are you doing? He just wants heaven's energy. Why not give it to him? Your life is far more precious."

Zeke also felt a tinge of regret, for not stopping Vela in time, allowing her to pressure Octantis with the threat of death.

If Octantis were to unleash his fury, he feared that Vela might not survive.

"Zeke, I've let everyone down," Vela sobbed remorsefully, "It's all my fault that everyone is in such a dangerous situation. Everyone has put in so much effort to hunt down the heaven's energy."

Zeke took a deep breath, appearing helpless.

It wouldn't be an issue if he had handed heaven's energy to Octantis as he had the authority to do so.

However, in that case, the team's unity would probably be shattered. Even if Anvindr and Elvis didn't have much objection, they would still feel uncomfortable deep down.

Moreover, even if he gave it to Octantis, would Octantis really let him go?

"Heaven's energy is just an external object." Zeke sighed. Finally, he took out heaven's energy and looked at Octantis, asking, "Octantis, if I give you heaven's energy, will you spare my people?"

Upon seeing Zeke back down, Octantis scoffed.
