Chapter - 3422

Morvran shook his head. "Unfortunately, there's nothing I can do. It would have been better if there were fewer depraved spirits in the late stage."

Everyone fell into silence.

The possibility of encountering five late stage depraved spirits was indeed real.

Morvran was confident, but not to the point of boundless arrogance. He thought there was some truth to Zeke's words.

"In that case, we'll require a significant formation, an annihilation formation," Zeke said.

"An annihilation formation?" A glint flashed in Morvran's eyes. That's indeed a good idea.

"Zeke, could you discuss the arrangements with Quincey? We're from Dominion Sect, and we aren't very familiar with formations. Do you have the ability to set up such a formation?" Morvran asked.

"Of course. but it comes at a hefty price." Zeke said. His expression remained calm, but inside, he smirked with wicked amusement. It's time for Quincey to bleed! Setting up a large formation like that is extremely challenging, and it requires a multitude of formation flags. Didn't Quincey just trick me into coming here? Given the circumstances, I should make him pay a bit for it, to ease the resentment in my heart.

With that in mind, Zeke had Anvindr relay some information to Morvran about the annihilation formation.

After hearing this, Morvran was also somewhat moved.

"All right. I'll have Mr. Quincey come over."

He called for Quincey, who came over somewhat bewildered. I just left to set up the formation not long ago. What could he possibly need me for now?

In the next moment, his eyes widened, filled with utter shock.

"Mr. Quincey, I need your help to set up an annihilation formation. We need to eliminate some depraved spirits to ensure our exploration goes smoothly. I estimate that we'll need to take down dozens of depraved spirits in the mid-stage of Sun and Moon Class, and hundreds in the early stage. That's to ensure a successful exploration."

"Absolutely not!" Quincey shouted out, his expression filled with anxiety. "Morvran! This requires a tremendous sacrifice, and there's no guarantee of success!"

"Oh?" A chill flickered in Morvran's eyes, his voice growing somewhat colder as he asked, "Anvindr, a fellow disciple from your sect, assured me that the formation would be successful. You're not trying to deceive me, are you?"

Quincey's body stiffened. He gazed blankly at Anvindr, gritting his teeth. This guy actually told the truth! He's setting me up! Success is indeed attainable, but the cost is steep! To eliminate such a multitude of depraved spirits, at the very least, five thousand formation flags are required!

Quincey was heartbroken after having already negotiated a deal with Zeke and parted with three thousand formation flags. At that moment, the thought of shelling out another five thousand was simply unthinkable.

However, under the overwhelming presence of Morvran, Quincey felt somewhat intimidated.

"Ah!" Quincey had no choice but to let out a heavy sigh. "Morvran, it's possible!"

"Hmm?" Morvran looked over curiously, eager to hear what Quincey would say next.

"However, I want a bigger share," he said. "The twenty percent we discussed before needs to be increased."

Morvran stroked his chin, hesitating for a moment before he nodded in agreement.

"As long as your formation is effective, there's no harm in giving you an additional ten percent. However, I believe that if you wish to demand an extra ten percent profit, then you'll need to eliminate more depraved spirits. Take out more than twenty of the mid-stage of Sun and Moon Class!"

Over twenty? Quincey was dumbfounded, staring in disbelief. That will require even more formation flags! Moreover, for some unknown reason, Morvran seems to think my usefulness has diminished, or something to that effect. The way he looks at me now lacks the previous courtesy.

He didn't know the reason, but Zeke certainly did.

The promise Zeke made to deal with a late-stage depraved spirit had significantly increased Morvran's fondness for him.

After all, they only needed a mere ten percent of the profits to deal with a late-stage depraved spirit. It was as if they were contributing more than they were profiting.

Under such circumstances, it was clear that there were some objections to Quincey taking a thirty percent share of the profits.

Zeke and the others snickered among themselves. They were furious at Quincey for tricking them into going there. Since Quincey was finally getting some retribution, they were more than happy to see him bleed a bit more.

Observing Zeke and the others seemingly laughing at him, Quincey took a deep breath, gritting his teeth.

"All right! No problem! However, they also have to contribute. They have to assist in setting up some formation flags and arranging an annihilation formation!" Quincey said.
