Chapter - 3443

With a determined look in his eyes, Zeke lifted Vesper's emerald sword, placing it against his chest.

He thought that since he was bound to die in the demonic camp eventually, he preferred it to happen straightforwardly.

"You're calling me insane?" Ves[er stared intensely at Zeke, her eyes filled with turmoil.

It seemed as though another soul was engaged in a struggle with her in her mind.

Just as Zeke said, Vesper's capriciousness was extreme.

In simpler terms, it could be described as dissociative identity disorder.

For reasons unknown, Vesper's delicate body began to tremble, and her beautiful eyes started to redden.

Biting her lip gently, she abruptly withdrew her longsword. With a swift wave of her hand, she dispersed a medicinal mist onto Zeke's wound. healing it instantly.

The medicinal mist, it seemed, was no ordinary thing.

Zeke was stunned, deeply gazing at Vesper.

After a moment of silence, he asked, "Why? You intended to kill me, yet you also harbored a desire to save me. You clearly held back your strength when you injured me because you knew your medicinal mist could heal it."

Vesper paid him no mind, moving off to a corner by herself. Lonely, she sat down and curled up. Burying her face, she unexpectedly started to cry.

Zeke didn't understand why the prodigious demonic cultivator was so heartbroken.

It truly baffled him.

However, being soft-hearted as he was, he approached and sat next to Vesper, squeezing out a smile that he thought was gentle. "Vesper, if there's something on your mind, feel free to share it with me.”

Vesper's sobbing ceased. She cast a glance at Zeke with her reddened, beautiful eyes, offering him a melancholic smile. "What is there to talk about? It's all in the past. I should've let bygones be bygones. Didn't you say I was a ruthless and heartless demonic cultivator? Yet, I can't forget those past events. Isn't it ironic?"

Zeke furrowed his eyebrows. "Actually, I didn't mean it that way. It's just that I think your personality is too-"

"Too, what?" Vesper scoffed, her demeanor icy as she said, "This is what I truly am. It's that you just find it a bit abnormal." Zeke's brows furrowed more intensely as he remained silent.

Vesper continued, "Zeke, did you really think I allowed you to live unscathed and converse with me because of your charm?"

"Hmm..." Zeke hesitated slightly. "Isn't that the case?"

Vesper was taken aback. I've encountered narcissists before, but never one this bad.

She couldn't help but sneer, "You're so full of yourself!"

"Then why don't you tell me the reason? Can't you be straightforward about it?" Zeke said, "Fine, I'll be straightforward."

Vesper snorted, "Back then, in my faction, there were three top prodigies. I was one of them, and another was a senior I had a crush on. However, he turned out to be a spy sent by an orthodox sect. After he was exposed, he was personally executed by the Demon Lord. I miss him dearly. You only share a slight resemblance with him, but you two's temperament are strikingly similar, which made me inevitably think of him."

Vesper didn't hold back on divulging everything.

What about the last top prodigy?" Zeke asked curiously.

His attention was not entirely focused on the one whom Vesper had a crush on.

Truthfully, he had already speculated as much. All Vesper said was only confirming his suspicions. As a result, he wasn't particularly curious about it.

"Are you sick in the head?" Vesper was taken aback.

She had assumed Zeke would question her about her crush, and she had already prepared her response, but to her surprise, Zeke didn't even ask about it.

That certainly made her somewhat angry.

"Why do you say that?" Zeke was also taken aback.

They stared at each other, their eyes filled with surprise.
