Chapter - 3490

After speaking, he glanced at Aretta once more, arrogantly raising his head to look down upon her.

"Aretta, this duel is between me and Zeke. It had nothing to do with you. You shouldn't interfere nor dissuade him further, or I will kill you!"

"Kill me?" Aretta scoffed as if she had heard a joke. "A duel is fine, but unless you swear a Heaven's Oath, I won't agree to this duel."

"Zeke." She slowly turned toward Zeke and asked, "What do you think?"

Zeke gave a slight nod. "Aretta is right. If it's going to be a one-on-one fight, you must make a Heaven's Oath."

"Do you not trust me?" asked Wade coldly.

Isn't that stating the obvious?

Zeke and the others exchanged glances. Even he rolled his eyes.

Seeing him react like that, Wade smirked. A hint of embarrassment and anger flashed in his eyes.

He's merely an insignificant being, yet he has the audacity to challenge me time and again. I can't bear it any further.

"Okay, isn't it just a Heaven's Oath?"

Taking a deep breath, Wade made a Heaven's Oath again.

Quickly, the Heaven's Rule accepted it and shifted.

Only then did Zeke feel relieved. Holding the star compass, he gave Aretta a slight bow.

"Rest assured, Aretta. I won't lose!"

"You won't?" Aretta was taken aback. She couldn't understand where Zeke got his courage from. Could it be the divine power to absorb other people's powers? But that ability is practically useless when up against a prepared cultivator.

Aretta remained silent, doubting whether Zeke could actually pull it off. Deep down, she really wanted to stop Zeke.

However, there was no choice now.

Vesper also glanced at Zeke worriedly. Yet, her expression remained composed, as if she was indifferent to Zeke's situation.

"Zeke, if you are not trying to stall for time and seriously want a one-on-one duel with Wade, you don't need to go through all this trouble," said Vesper slowly, her tone revealing a slight tinge of mockery. "You can't even handle one of his blows."

Darn it!

Zeke's mind went blank as he stared at Vesper in disbelief.

Is this woman really on our side or Wade's? Why is she undermining her ally's morale?

Upon seeing the look in Zeke's eyes, Vesper frowned.

"Let's go." She sent a telepathy message.

"I have a way to get you out of here. When the time comes for the Secret Realm of Mount Kush to close, I can take you to a secluded place. Then, we..."

"What are you trying to do?" asked Zeke, taken aback.

Vesper's tone turned serious. "When the time comes, stay by my side for a year. I'll share all my cultivation with you and help you reach that class."

Zeke could tell that Vesper was not lying.

When she said she would do something, she meant it. There wasn't a shred of falsehood in her words.

Zeke frowned deeply.

"Stop kidding around, I know you have more to tell me, but the one-on-one duel is what matters most now. On behalf of the orthodox cultivators, I must fight for a chance of survival!"

At this point, Zeke took a deep breath and gazed solemnly at the others.

"Vela, Aretta, Elvis, and all of you, don't worry about me. I'll be back soon. Please, don't interfere. If he doesn't break his promise, I'll have the chance to defeat him."

After he finished speaking, Zeke finally turned his gaze toward Vela and nodded.

"Vela, I'll just borrow your star compass and give it right back to you!"

"Zeke, there's no need. I..." Vela opened her mouth, hesitating to say something.

In the end, she said, "Zeke, remaining alive would be the best promise you could give to me."

Zeke paused for a moment before laughing heartily.

"Okay! Don't worry, Vela!"

At the other end, Wade was growing somewhat impatient. Angrily, he snapped, "Zeke, stop dawdling! No need to make such a fuss over matters of life and death. If you're going to die, just get on with it!"

Zeke looked at him coldly.

"Okay, I'm on my way!"

Once he finished speaking, he flew toward Wade while holding the star compass.
