Chapter - 3537

A pass for forbidden grounds?

Zeke and the others exchanged glances.

There were actually forbidden grounds here in the Ancient Graveyard?

"There are five forbidden grounds here in the Ancient Graveyard, belonging to the Five Great Orthodox Sects."

Emerald Sword God noticed Zeke's confusion and slowly explained, "These five forbidden grounds were once the places where ancient immortals fell. Even now, they still hold some power, to varying degrees.”

Just as he was about to continue speaking, a bell's toll suddenly echoed from the distance.

Dong! Dong!

If Polaris were here, he would surely discern that this bell toll was strikingly identical to the one from his borderland.

However, what set this apart was that as the chimes rang out, a mysterious force instantly filled the heaven and earth. Much like Heaven's Rule, it was intangible and invisible, yet its impact was profound.

The chimes rang out, echoing with an ancient and distant resonance, carrying with it a sense of melancholy.

Zeke felt as though he could hear echoes of the ancient war within the tolling of the bell, the countless scenes of cultivators fighting valiantly amidst bloodshed.

When he looked down, there was a sea of corpses beneath his feet.

The scenes of days gone by seemed to surface, filled with nothing but sorrow...

Thud, thud!

The pounding of horse hooves echoed, countless neighs ringing out from the horizon.

As Zeke and the others looked over, their eyes widened in shock.

Suddenly, countless white pegasi were seen flying in from the distance.

Atop the horses were men whose heavy armor gleamed, radiating a blinding white light. That brilliance, piercing through the clouds, was incredibly majestic.

The sacred white light pierced through the gloomy sky, radiating an unparalleled majesty!

"The Pegasus Feathered Celestial Guards." A trace of complexity flashed in the eyes of Emerald Sword God, and deep within them, a hint of respect was also hidden.

He silently gazed at the herd of pegasi, his emotions seeming incredibly complex.

Zeke and the others momentarily held their breaths, staring blankly at the group of Pegasus-feathered Celestial Guards.

As they moved closer, Zeke saw that the white horses were actually nothing more than decaying skeletons, their once majestic form now reduced to bone. Similarly, the knights atop them were nothing more than crumbling, decayed bones.

From a distance, the army radiated an aura of grandeur and orthodoxness, emanating a sense of solemn sanctity.

However, as the group drew closer, that aura turned into one of death and decay.

It seemed as though they didn't belong in this era, that they should have faded away long ago.

"Attack!"

"Kill them!"

Originally, none of the knights spoke.

However, in that instant, it seemed as if endless war cries were ringing out from that direction.

The white-armored knights, gripping their massive spears, radiated a profound intent for battle as well as a terrifying murderous intent as they sped off into the distance.

They managed to avoid Zeke and his group.

The sight was particularly breathtaking.

They were like a grand meteor shower, streaking across the sky.

Boom!

Their powerful aura was overwhelming!

Zeke drew in a deep breath, a glint of respect flashing in his eyes.

Even though they were a distance away, he still bowed toward these figures.

Elvis, Vesper, and the others also fell silent, respectfully bowing toward these figures.

These men were their ancestors from the Ancient Immortal War.

They were once the glory of mankind.

From what it looked like now, all that remained was some fragmented spiritual consciousness, yet it still retained an unbounded dominance.

They were the glorious legacy of the human race!

They were the sort of warrior Zeke admired and strived to become!

Not at all like Emerald Sword God, who was a selfish and self-serving individual.

"Is that the war bell?" Zeke asked with a bitter smile.

These vestiges of human glory must have been summoned due to the war bell ringing.

Emerald Sword God slowly nodded, a helpless smile gracing his face.

"They believe that the ancient war is still ongoing. Little do they know, it already ended long ago..."

Sighing, he watched the direction where the Pegasus Feathered Celestial Guards had gone in, his expression somewhat grim.

"Had they chosen to follow me back then, they wouldn't be devoid of hope for revival now. I could have awakened them all. Alas, they were ultimately the guards of the Feathered Celestial, not mine. Whenever the war bell tolls, they will heed its call, venturing into the vast world to combat the enemies of mankind..."

Zeke's expression subtly shifted. "So... how did the war bell ring? Why does it still ring even now?"

Indeed, if the ancient war had already ended, why would the war bell chime once again?
