Chapter 3571

Vesper would never act like this, nor would she bother to explain herself to him. Additionally, she wouldn't be so ruthless toward him. The scenes of life and death that had unfolded previously were still fresh in Zeke's memory. Vesper was a true friend, not an enemy. Even if she harbored feelings for him and felt a pang of jealousy, she would never unleash such a potent intent to harm him. "You're not Vesper!" Zeke suddenly burst into laughter. Subsequently, his gaze hardened as he asked, "Emerald Sword God, where exactly is her soul?" Vesper's expression subtly shifted. She froze in place as a spiritual body emerged from behind her. It wasn't Emerald Sword God, but a woman wearing a luminous white tiara. She had pointed ears, reminiscent of an elf. There were nine fluffy white fox tails behind her. Despite her unusual appearance, she still managed to look somewhat adorable. She was strikingly beautiful, her captivating eyes held a seductive allure. A mere glance could ensnare anyone, leaving them utterly enchanted and unable to look away. Her delicate neck and charming demeanor further enhanced her irresistible charm. However, her aura didn't quite match. She embodied a unique purity, yet beneath that surface lay a discernible hint of darkness. Underneath this shroud of darkness, there was scant sign of life. She was draped in a stunningly thick, beautiful robe of pure white as if she had just emerged from a land of deep ice. Zeke was utterly astonished. She was not Vesper, after all. However, her demeanor and vibe did not differ from Vesper. She looked quite similar to Vesper, but their personalities were worlds apart, making her almost unrecognizable at first glance. "Who are you?" The other party covered her mouth, chuckling with a hint of playful mischief. "I didn't expect you to actually figure it out. Actually, Vesper and I were originally one. Back then, our souls had merged. Now, it's just that I've gained control, which is why I want to kill you as a tribute to the Emerald Sword God."

Zeke's face turned pale. "So, are you implying that everything you said before was just to deceive me?" "No, no, no, it's all true." The nine-tailed woman laughed, her beautiful eyes sparkling with a cold light. "I am the true subordinate of Demon Lord. It's just that previously, Vesper was too reckless, almost causing my demise. Fortunately, she knew I was about to seize her soul, so she left you first. Unexpectedly, we meet again." At that moment, everything made sense: Vesper's capricious behavior before and her unnatural expression after they entered the Ancient Graveyard. Her smile had notably faded. Zeke had spent some time with Vesper and had come to understand her to some extent. He initially found her behavior rather strange, thinking it was Vesper revealing her true self. Alternatively, it might have been his own sense of helplessness about his uncertain future. He didn't realize it was because of the fusion of their souls. He also didn't know why this was happening. Why was there another soul residing within Vesper's body? The owner of that soul, the woman standing before him, seemed to have possessed Vesper's body. In truth, Zeke himself wasn't sure whether it was possession or not. He didn't fully understand the concept of soul fusion, and therefore, he couldn't access more detailed information. All he knew was that the current Vesper seemed to be nothing more than an empty shell. He attempted to sense any presence but found no trace of other souls or vital energy. Furthermore, the aura emanating from this woman was indeed peculiar. Since she claimed to be affiliated with Demon Lord, he naturally assumed she must be teeming with vital energy. Other than the ancient spirit that reawakened within the Secret Realm of Mount Kush, which had minimal vital energy, Zeke had never encountered a person entirely devoid of it.
