Chapter - 3586

Zeke gradually regained his clarity.

Who cared about ancient times?

Who cared about immortals or anything else?

What he truly cared about were the citizens of Eurasia and his own wife.

If he couldn't even protect his own wife, how was he supposed to protect the people of his nation?

If word about this got out, he'd be seen as nothing more than a joke.

Does anything else matter? Is finding ways to grow stronger that important?

What's all this cr*p about Worldly Immortals and some godd*mn Palace of Annihilation?

"Ha ha ha!"

Suddenly, Zeke let out a hearty, confident laugh.

He didn't realize how his eyes had become as clear as water in an instant.

That vast black river was not actually far; in fact, it had already vanished.

Zeke looked down and realized for the first time that he had never paid attention to what was beneath him, as he was too engrossed in going after the river-which was, in fact, right beneath his feet.

With a swift grasp, he scooped up a handful of water.

His hand began to evaporate directly.

"Is this the River of Annihilation?"

Zeke let out a mocking laugh.

"No, this is just a river flowing along the Great Pryncyp; a river that can make people stronger. That's all."

In an instant, the demonic energy that had been lingering within Zeke's brow dissipated.

However, his strength had become even greater.

A power of obliteration, like never before, surfaced within him.

His hand began to heal.

With annihilation came rebirth.

This was the Power of Restoration.

So, this is the true power of annihilation. No, it's annihilation AND rebirth.

Annihilation alone isn't enough!

"I'm coming for you, Nine-Tails."

Zeke's gaze turned profound and shadowy as a cold smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth.

Crash!

Everything before his eyes shattered in an instant as time began to flow in reverse.

Time seemed to rewind to the moment he first stepped through the door.

"You?"

A cry of surprise rang out.

That seemed to have come from the Worldly Immortal, his voice bearing the weight of time and worldliness.

"I get it now, Worldly Immortal," Zeke said to the void. "The Palace of Annihilation's river is actually beneath your feet. Can't you find it?"

After a lengthy silence, the Worldly Immortal finally spoke. "Whether it is or not, perhaps everyone has their own answer. My current form is that of a Demi-Emperor. If you can find her and convince her to return to the Palace of Annihilation, I, too, can attain enlightenment. But if you can't, perhaps remaining in slumber here is all that awaits me."

"Is this... your past form?" Zeke narrowed his eyes.

"It is. I've cultivated Three Temporal Forms, but my current form has yet to return. It was affected during a great battle with the Demon Lord. You must be careful. This Demon Lord is incredibly cunning and is also a Demi- Emperor warrior."

"Demi-Emperor?" Zeke's expression subtly shifted.

Never had it crossed his mind that the Demon Lord could actually be a Demi-Emperor warrior.

It makes sense, though. This explains why he attacked me back then. His powers even managed to break through realms and implanted dark energy within me.

"Where will your future form be, then?" the man asked once again.

"Perhaps my future form doesn't exist in the river of time ahead, given that humanity... may have no future."

No future?

Zeke was completely taken aback.

"Why?" he asked urgently.

"You're under the impression that the ancient war was merely a battle between immortals and demons, aren't you? You're oversimplifying things. It's not just demons and the beasts as our enemies. We immortals have more adversaries than you can imagine. The true enemy originates from the other side of the dark, vast cosmos-the clan of obliteration."

The World Immortal continued, "Having seen your memories, I know that your sole desire is for Eurasia to be stable and its people to be free from worries. But when a true catastrophe descends upon the world, who can truly save themselves? Back in ancient times, no one could isolate themselves from the world, let alone in this current era. In the thousands of vast realms, no one can escape their fate. It's about time for this world to face its destiny... They... are coming back..."

Zeke was momentarily stunned.
