Chapter - 5887

After Tara mentioned that a peculiar poison coursed through her veins, Charlie swiftly utilized his reiki to investigate. As he suspected, the reiki within her was identical to the strange poison present in Zeba Salazar's body.

Charlie let out a sigh, remarking, "Morgana has yet to lay eyes on you, yet she has already poisoned you. That’s quite typical of her."

He continued, "Your poison mirrors that of the four marshals. While I may not be able to cure it immediately, I'm confident that I can uncover a solution before it’s too late."

Tara furrowed her brow and asked, "Do the four marshals also have this poison in their bodies?"

Charlie confirmed, "Not only do all four marshals carry the same poison, but there's also a time bomb within them. If Morgana truly takes you in to cultivate you, your destiny will likely mirror theirs."

As he spoke, Charlie recounted the situation of the Soul Palace inside Gideon Alastair's body.

Gazing at him in disbelief, Tara asked, "Did Lord Mirren truly set up a self-destructing formation in the Soul Palace of the four marshals?"

Charlie retorted, "Do you really think I would lie to you?"

Tara nodded, convincing herself of Charlie's words.

When Charlie first attacked her, he mentioned the Soul Palace. Although she didn’t understand then, it seemed clear to her now. Furthermore, even without having seen the things inside the Soul Palace, she felt certain it aligned with the Warriors Den’s modus operandi. They had always been like that—exploiting every last shred of worth, even posthumously.

With this thought in mind, Tara's emotional turmoil settled a bit.

Given the alternative of being trapped in the Soul Palace by Morgana with a set-up that could turn her into a human bomb, being caught by Charlie didn’t feel quite as dire.

At that moment, Tara's mind turned to her family. With a hint of anxiety, she asked Charlie, "Mr. Wade... does that mean I’ll never see my family again?"

Charlie reassured her, "If I ever have the chance to defeat Morgana, I will grant all of you your complete freedom, including freeing you from the strange poison. At that point, you’ll be able to reunite with your family."

Tara nodded softly.

While unsure if Charlie could genuinely defeat Morgana, she suddenly found herself hoping fervently for that day to come.

The Decker family's tragic fate had been shaped entirely by Morgana over the centuries. To regain her freedom, Morgana's demise was the only path.

If she could find her freedom once more, her immediate desire would be to reunite with her mother.

Her father had taken her away from her mother when she was just one year old. Since then, Tara hadn’t seen her mother, and her memories were long faded—she couldn’t recall any details about her at all.

Yet, the absence of her mother in her life had left her with a profound sense of loss.

In the past, the thought of searching for her mother felt dangerously rebellious, as the Decker family's rules strictly forbade anyone from seeking her mother's whereabouts.

However, she was no longer under the Warriors Den's control. If given the chance, she was now willing to try and find her mother.

Noticing her contemplative expression, Charlie said, "Zeba Salazar, one of the four marshals, has also surrendered to me. However, like you, she bears Morgana's strange poison within her. I will ensure she is settled in China to train in peace. Once we resolve this issue, I’ll bring you to China so you can meet each other. Perhaps you two can assist one another."

Charlie then mused aloud, "Zeba Salazar, Tara Decker—you two seem quite fated."

Taken aback, Tara asked quickly, "Mr. Wade, are you really planning to take me to China?"

Charlie replied, "I’m not sure yet. I may allow you to leave Morocco with the others, or I might bring you back to China with me."

Tara quickly implored, "Please, Mr. Wade, take me back to China! My father once told me I was born there! It’s possible my mother still lives in China!"

Charlie inquired, "Do you wish to find your mother?"

"Yes!" Tara affirmed decisively, then added, "But please don't misunderstand, Mr. Wade; I don't intend to seek her out immediately upon arriving in China. I will follow all your instructions."

Charlie stated, "If you collaborate with me to accomplish my goals, I can consider bringing you back to China. I can also assist if you want to find your mother."

Tara expressed her gratitude, saying, "Thank you, Mr. Wade! I will fully cooperate with whatever you need!"

Charlie instructed, "The senior executives of the Cavalry Guard are in the conference room awaiting us. Let's go meet them. Tonight, we’ll begin the evacuation plan."

"Understood, Mr. Wade!" Tara promptly replied.

...

Meanwhile, in the conference room, the Cavalry Guard leaders had been anxiously awaiting their meeting.

Chance Yarrow had summoned them but refrained from mentioning Charlie. Instead, he initially discussed the details of the blood transfusion plan.

When the leaders heard that the blood transfusion plan was set to proceed, their spirits sank, akin to eggplants touched by frost; they felt defeated and despondent.

They recognized the implications of this plan and understood that if enacted, it would mean a permanent separation from their families.

Unfortunately, they found themselves powerless to change this impending fate.

Once the orders for a major blood transfusion went out, everyone would be forced to comply, or they would face death for themselves and their families.

After Chance Yarrow finished outlining the plan, he addressed everyone: "We have a chance to completely alter this situation, but I need to know if you brothers are ready to stand with me, Chance Yarrow."

Upon hearing this, everyone expressed their willingness.

To them, the prospect of a major blood transfusion was their worst nightmare, and they were eager for a chance to overturn it. They were willing to take the risk, provided the success rate was considerable. If there was little hope for success, nobody was ready to gamble with their families' lives.

However, Chance Yarrow chose not to divulge further details. He only asked everyone to remain patient, insisting that an opportunity would soon present itself.

Confused, the group chatted among themselves, feeling anxious about what Chance Yarrow meant by waiting for an opportunity.

Suddenly, the door to the conference room swung open.

Everyone turned to see Charlie entering, accompanied by the formidable Captain Decker.

While they didn’t know Charlie, they recognized Tara. Seeing her enter prompted feelings of anxiety among them; they feared she had discovered their discussion about pursuing an alternative to the major transfusion.

Consequently, everyone rose respectfully, saluting her and saying, "Greetings, Captain Decker!"

In response, Tara announced, "From this moment on, I renounce all ties with the Warriors Den and will no longer act as Captain of the Warriors Den. If you choose, you may refer to me as Miss Decker."

The room fell silent in shock.

Tara, the Captain of the Right Army Governor's Office, had suddenly declared her severance from the Warriors Den in front of everyone! How could she make such an announcement? Additionally, why was she declaring this before them, considering their lower status and power?

As confusion reigned, Charlie unexpectedly asked, "If I were to offer you and your families a chance to break free from the Warriors Den's control, would you accept?"
