Chapter - 5903

Upon hearing that the Governor had arrived, Darius Talmidge immediately fell silent and gestured to his deputy. The two promptly went out to greet him.

At that moment, Victor Steel also entered. As the two came face to face, Darius Talmidge's subordinates bowed deeply to Victor Steel, placing their palms together, and addressed Darius Talmidge, saying, "Sir, this is the Governor!"

Though Darius Talmidge held the title of special envoy, he knew he was far from being at the Governor's level. In fact, even when interacting with the lieutenant, he had only heard his voice but had never met him in person.

Now seeing Victor Steel, he was uncertain of his identity and responded with respect, "I am Darius Talmidge, the last general, honored to meet the Governor. Please show me the tiger head token."

Victor Steel wasted no time and pulled out a token made of pure gold from his pocket with his right hand. The token bore no text, only a vividly crafted tiger head. As Victor Steel touched the fur above the tiger's head, the token seemed to come alive, causing the tiger to shake its head and roar.

There are only five tiger head tokens throughout the Warriors Den, each held by one of the five governors of the Five Military Commanders' Office. This token was crafted by Morgana using spiritual energy and contained an illusion formation. Only a true master can activate the formation by touching the fur on the tiger’s head; if the token falls into other hands, it lacks this power. This token is crucial for the Governor of the Five Military Commanders' Office to validate his identity.

Although Darius Talmidge had never seen the tiger head token before, he was aware of its existence and attributes. Now that he was witnessing it firsthand, he had no doubts and promptly knelt on one knee, declaring, "General Darius Talmidge will fully comply with the Governor's orders!"

Victor Steel nodded, tucked the token back into his pocket, and asked, "Is everyone here?"

"Everyone is present!" Darius Talmidge replied respectfully and added, "Please follow me to the warehouse for the briefing, Governor!"

Victor Steel spoke curtly, "Lead the way."

"Yes, sir!"

Darius Talmidge bowed and escorted Victor Steel to the warehouse.

Hundreds of Tiger Guards from Naples and Cavalry Guards from Nigeria were already assembled in formation.

The Tiger Guards were Victor Steel's direct troops, and the Cavalry Guards from Nigeria had previously encountered him. As he entered, everyone immediately knelt and respectfully announced, "Welcome, Governor!"

Victor Steel motioned for everyone to stand and stated coldly, "The situation is urgent, so I’ll be direct. I've summoned you all to Morocco today to investigate what transpired at Duke Mining last night, along with the whereabouts of Duke Mining's Cavalry Guards, Dead Soldiers, and their families."

He then glanced at Darius Talmidge and said, "As you are the special envoy here, you know the situation best. Please share the clues you have gathered."

Darius Talmidge nodded nervously, wiping away cold sweat, and said, "To be honest with the Governor and everyone here, I am also puzzled by the events at Duke Mining. I can share my general understanding of the situation."

He continued, "Duke Mining only produces one product: finished phosphate. All phosphates are transported directly from Duke Mining to the railway freight station at Casablanca port via the Moroccan National Railway. My trading company owns a transit warehouse there, where all imported goods that have cleared customs and those awaiting clearance for export are stored. Our employees handle the necessary customs procedures.

"Duke Mining sends a train full of phosphates to Casablanca every afternoon. Since its last production line upgrade and resumption of operations over three years ago, everything has been running smoothly without any incidents. Yesterday afternoon at approximately 6:10 PM, the final train of phosphates arrived at the station, and everything appeared normal; the quality and quantity matched standard practices. After the incident yesterday, we quickly obtained the driving record of the train and compared it to prior records. From the arrival of the train at Duke Mining to its departure after loading, no irregularities were noted.

"Last night, according to the established plan for the large blood exchange, I was driving the convoy to Duke Mining to transport the first group of participants to the airport when the explosion occurred just as I arrived."

Victor Steel responded coldly, "Let’s discuss what happened after the explosion. What is the current situation with the Moroccan government?"

Darius Talmidge replied hurriedly, "The explosion attracted the local police's attention last night. Given the severity of the incident, they immediately escalated the matter to national authorities. The capital, Rabat, dispatched an investigation team that arrived at Duke Mining early this morning to conduct a preliminary investigation. Currently, there are no reported casualties, so they have provisionally classified this incident as a production responsibility accident. They are seeking the person in charge of Duke Mining, as they find it strange that someone disappeared at the same time the enterprise was destroyed. However, they have not disclosed this to the media, which considers it merely a major safety incident."

Victor Steel inquired, "Who is in charge of Duke Mining? Is it one of the missing Cavalry Guards?"

Darius Talmidge explained, "There are six individuals in charge who reported to the local government; five of them are Cavalry Guards, while one is with us. However, we fear letting the nominal person in charge speak to the government, as we're concerned they might detain him for questioning."

Victor Steel nodded and remarked, "We certainly can't handle them now. You noted that yesterday afternoon the train's footage indicated everything was normal, yet by 11 PM the entire Duke Mining area was deserted. In just a few hours, it’s implausible for over 10,000 people to evacuate that quickly. The only logical explanation is that someone has already initiated a discreet evacuation while maintaining regular supply operations to avoid detection."

Darius Talmidge quickly agreed, "What the Governor said is absolutely correct; I believe the facts align with your assessment."

Victor Steel continued, "Therefore, I will split you into three teams, each responsible for investigating a specific direction."

On hearing this, everyone stood up and replied in unison, "We respectfully follow the Governor's orders!"

Victor Steel instructed, "The first team should focus on Duke Mining to determine if anyone has visited in recent days. Check all available cameras along the route, and confirm whether any satellites have captured images of Duke Mining recently. Compare these with earlier satellite images for any obvious anomalies.

"The second team will investigate all individuals and vehicles that exited Duke Mining in recent days. Even if tens of thousands of people moved in smaller groups, it’s impossible to completely conceal the truth. Examine every detail, as clues will surely emerge regarding where everyone who left Duke Mining went.

"The third team will conduct a thorough search radiating out from Duke Mining into the surrounding areas. Tens of thousands of people cannot just vanish; they must be hiding somewhere in Morocco. Even if we have to dig deep, we must locate them!"
