Chapter 5911

"Reattach his hand?" Jack was taken aback by Charlie's nonchalant words. He was aware that Charlie possessed the power to enable Victor Steel's severed hand to regrow, but the method he was familiar with involved a miraculous remedy known as the remodeling pill. Subconsciously, he asked Charlie, "Mr. Wade... are you... planning to give Victor Steel a remodeling pill?" "Yes!" Charlie responded with certainty, his smile unwavering. "Only the remodeling pill has the capacity to regenerate his severed hand." Jack couldn't help but inquire further, "So... does that mean that regrowing a hand requires a very costly remodeling pill?" Charlie affirmed, saying, "Even simply regrowing a finger requires a whole remodeling pill. You could think of it this way: only a complete remodeling pill can activate the body's regenerative abilities. As for how much regeneration occurs, that falls within the parameters of the pill—it's like a buffet; regardless of whether you eat more or less, the cost remains the same." Jack involuntarily gasped, "That's incredibly wasteful... After all, this man is Morgana's descendant. Even if he receives a pill, he won't be able to use it for himself, so why squander it..." He quickly added, "Mr. Wade, I don't mean anything negative by that, but I just think it’s a pity to utilize such an expensive pill on an enemy." Jack had experienced the wonders of this pill first-hand. It could restore a broken hand or, in his case, even remake a body damaged beyond recognition. If Charlie were to auction it off, the value would far surpass that of the rejuvenation pill. Using it on an adversary felt like a misuse of resources. Charlie calmly smiled and replied, "While this elixir is undeniably valuable, its effects are astonishing. It's not meant for sale in any case. However, I do possess a substantial amount of it. When taken normally, it has no effect. It's worth employing one to frustrate Morgana." Jack paused, unsure how to articulate his thoughts, and simply sighed, "Hey... Mr. Wade... If we're correct, Morgana must have severed Victor Steel's left hand, and you’re going to use the elixir to restore it. Morgana might not show any signs of emotional response." He continued, "Then there’s Victor Steel himself. You assisted him in regrowing his left hand, and he wouldn't dare keep it from Morgana; he’d undoubtedly inform her right away. If Morgana suspects his intentions, she might replace him immediately. In the end, it seems Victor Steel would gain the upper hand without merit..." Charlie chuckled and said, "Don’t worry, Inspector Lee, I won’t let anyone take advantage of me that easily. Friends and family are one thing, but enemies won’t be given a chance. I’m aware of all this, so there’s no need to fret." Seeing Charlie's confidence, Jack realized he must have a plan in mind and ceased his inquiries. With the Tiger Guards from Naples and the Cavalry Guards from Nigeria openly present in Morocco, Charlie no longer found it challenging to track their movements. At this moment, Victor Steel was in an office at Moore Trade, strategizing next steps with Leo Grant. Victor Steel understood that he could not conceal his arrival in Morocco from the enemy. If they truly intended to eliminate him, he, Leo Grant, and the Tiger Soldiers accompanying him might not be able to fend them off. Nonetheless, Victor Steel felt he had no choice but to come. The raid on the Moroccan base had already been a significant failure, and Tara's disappearance was an even bigger misstep. Although the Lord had solely ordered the Three Elders to sever his left hand, Victor Steel feared this was merely a tactic to delay punishment. If the Lord remained irate, he would eventually have to deal with him after this incident.

By volunteering to venture into the most perilous location, he intended to demonstrate his loyalty to the British Lord, at the very least to salvage some semblance of favor. While this course of action carried risks, it felt preferable to idly waiting to die in Nigeria. If he were to perish at the hands of the enemy, he would have met his end loyal to the British Lord, who would naturally ensure his family was looked after. In contrast, his elder brother’s death had resulted in his remains being buried on-site, with his family imprisoned—house arrest for life. Even children as young as a few years had been confined until their dying days. Morgana might not directly order their deaths, but she would prevent him from marrying or having children to continue his lineage. At this time, Leo Grant expressed his concern. "Governor, we must hold our ground here. If the enemy comes, the Three Elders won’t be able to arrive quickly, and they may not be able to confront the enemy effectively." Victor Steel was unwilling to divulge his true thoughts to Leo Grant, thus he responded firmly, "I am fully accountable for the Morocco incident. If I don’t do everything in my power to rectify it, how can I face the Lord?" Leo Grant replied, "I'm equally committed to serving the Lord, but I worry that my sacrifice could be in vain. It would be ideal if you act as bait while the Three Elders can secretly ambush the enemy." Victor Steel shook his head, explaining, "You don't understand the Three Elders. Their importance is such that if any issues arise, the Lord must personally address the threats posed by such enemies in the future. Therefore, the Lord cannot risk the Three Elders unless it is absolutely necessary. The enemy is evidently more cunning and formidable than anticipated. If the Three Elders come quietly, who ends up ambushing whom becomes a different matter entirely." Leo Grant nodded and said, "Then I will secretly prepare more Tiger Guards and do my utmost to ensure your safety, Governor!" Victor Steel smiled wryly and said, "General Grant, I appreciate your concern." Leo Grant respectfully stated, "This is all part of my duties." With a sigh, Victor Steel said, "General Grant, please go take care of your responsibilities. I need a moment to rest." "Understood." Leo Grant replied, "Governor, feel free to reach out if you need anything. If not, I’ll leave you to your thoughts." As Leo Grant turned to exit, Victor Steel hesitated briefly but ultimately called out, "General, thank you for your assistance." Leo Grant immediately responded respectfully, "Governor, just let me know what you need." Victor Steel continued, "Please go to the city of Casablanca and see if you can find any prosthetic limbs available for purchase. I need one; my left sleeve feels empty and awkward." "Not a problem," Leo Grant replied promptly, "I'll check it out. There’s still some time before dark, so I believe there’s no immediate danger. Governor, please stay inside." "Okay." Victor Steel nodded. After Leo Grant left, he instinctively rolled up the sleeve of his left arm. The clean, wound surface peeked through the fabric, resembling a medical specimen cut open, making him instinctively retch. He muttered to himself, "I wonder if I'll ever have a chance to regrow my left hand in this lifetime..."
