The Amazing Son in Law/

Chapter - 5912

Chapter - 5912

The initial phase of amputation is the most excruciating and challenging.

For many years, he had been a healthy individual without any physical issues. Then, in an instant, he lost some limbs, and this was a devastating psychological blow.

Victor Steel was no exception.

For someone like him, the hardest part is the psychological acceptance of his disability, followed by the physical adaptation and compensation for it. Many individuals in his situation often experience a prolonged period of depression.

Victor Steel was known for his arrogance and had risen to the position of Governor of the Right Army Commander's Office. He had once been full of life, but now, like a bucket of ice water dousing him, he suddenly found himself disabled.

As he sat in despair, lost in thoughts, a knock at the door interrupted him.

Checking the time, he realized it had been over an hour since Leo Grant had left. Assuming Leo Grant had completed his task and returned, he quickly said, "Come in, the door is unlocked."

The door opened slowly, and Victor Steel called out, "Did you bring it? Let me try it."

Victor Steel had little hope regarding something he could acquire in a place like Casablanca. He merely wanted to obtain something to manage the situation without drawing attention from others, so he found it unsurprising that Leo Grant returned so swiftly.

What he did not expect was that the figure who entered after the door opened was not Leo Grant; it was a strange man who appeared much younger and wore a mask.

Victor Steel’s heart dropped, and he exclaimed, "Who are you? How did you get in?!"

Charlie smiled and replied, "Governor Steel, there's no need to be alarmed. I'm not here to target you. Your security is of no concern to me; I can come and go from this place as I please."

Upon hearing his title, Victor Steel immediately responded with suspicion, "You... you know who I am?"

Charlie chuckled and said, "I've only heard your name; this is my first time seeing you in person."

His demeanor suddenly shifted, becoming cold as he stated, "General, if you cooperate with me peacefully and don’t alert anyone, I won’t harm you. In fact, I have prepared a wonderful gift for you that I hope you will accept with gratitude."

Victor Steel scrutinized Charlie and cautiously asked, "You... were you the one behind the Duke Mining incident?"

Charlie answered coolly, "Yes, that was me. I believe the Governor has acquired Tara's sword, correct?"

Victor Steel, now increasingly anxious, inquired, "Are you here to kill me?"

Waving his hand, Charlie replied, "I just told you, I have a great gift for you and brought it just for you."

Then, observing Victor Steel’s empty left sleeve, he added with a smile, "It looks like the Governor has had some trouble with his left hand. What happened? Did Morgana’s people do that?"

Flustered, Victor Steel questioned Charlie, "How... how do you know that?"

Charlie smiled again, "I've been keeping tabs on Morocco and Nigeria. Any movements generally don’t escape my notice."

Continuing, Charlie asked, "How did the Governor lose his left hand? Was it due to the failure at Duke Mining?"

Uncertain about Charlie’s intentions, Victor Steel asked, "What exactly brings you here?"

Charlie grinned, "I came to witness the Governor's presence in person, but I didn’t expect to find you disabled. Losing your left hand must be quite difficult."

Anxiety coursed through Victor Steel, but he masked it with a calm facade, saying, "Sir, if you have something to say, please be direct."

Charlie nodded, sat across from him, and smiled, "To be honest, I’m here to offer you some warmth."

As he spoke, he revealed a pill and casually remarked, "Governor, take a look at this. It’s called a Remodeling Pill. As the name suggests, it’s meant to reshape the body. Don’t think that just because you’ve lost a hand, you cannot recover. Even if you were to lose everything, as long as you take this pill, your limbs will regrow."

"Remodeling Pill?!"

Victor Steel’s eyes widened as he stared at the pill.

He had been pondering that if he wanted to become whole again, the only solution was to obtain a Remodeling Pill.

Aside from that, nearly every other possibility seemed out of reach.

Yet previously, he had been pessimistic about such a pill, understanding its rarity and cost. How could he possibly acquire something so miraculous?

Looking at Charlie, he managed a bitter smile, "Sir, please don’t jest. The Remodeling Pill is said to be a life-saving miracle drug. If you possess it, even if you are reduced to just a brain, you can be restored completely. I can’t imagine Lady Mirren would have access to such a valuable pill. How can I trust a single pill you’ve presented?"

Without a word, Charlie tossed the pill to him. Victor Steel instinctively reached out to catch it, but he realized that he only had one right hand left. He managed to grasp it with his right hand, instinctively inspecting the pill.

He could smell the rich fragrance of the elixir, confirming its authenticity, but he still hesitated to fully believe it.

Charlie then encouraged him, "Just take the pill; it won’t be long before your severed hand grows back."

Victor Steel questioned, "We've never met, and we’re at odds. I truly don’t understand why you would want to help me or how I can be assured there’s no trickery with this pill."

Charlie replied sarcastically, "I could have come here without anyone noticing and could take your life whenever I wish. Given the vast difference in our power, do you really think I would need to come here to deceive you?"

Victor Steel probed cautiously, "But why would you give me this pill? Is it to make me betray my Lord?"

Charlie smiled and replied, "Rest assured, I offer you this pill today with no strings attached. I simply have a strong disdain for Morgana. Since she took your hand, I intend to help you regain it!"

He then asserted, "You have three seconds to take the pill, or I’ll take it back. Remember, there won’t be another opportunity like this."

Victor Steel hesitated, struggling internally for a long moment but ultimately lacked the courage to ingest the pill from this stranger.

As a member of the Mirren family, he understood well how the Lord exerted control over everyone. In addition to using his family as long-term hostages, there was also a method of control through poison implanted in their bodies.

As part of the Mirren family, he was spared from taking the poison, leading to his concern that the pill Charlie handed him could be another form of control. If that were the case, hoping to regain his power in the future would become nothing but a sweet illusion.

Noticing Victor Steel's fear, Charlie grew somewhat impatient. Suddenly, he dashed to Victor Steel's side, snatched the pill from his right hand, and covered his mouth with one hand. With a swift slap, Charlie forced the pill into Victor Steel's mouth.

Watching him panic, Charlie remarked lightly, "Don’t be so anxious. You’ve just lost a hand, so the pill will act quickly. Just wait for five or six minutes, and you’ll see your left hand regrown."
