The Amazing Son in Law/

Chapter - 5914

Victor Steel was thoroughly frustrated by Charlie's remarks, yet at that moment, he found himself unable to even scold Charlie, let alone resist or seek revenge.

He had initially been filled with excitement watching his left hand gradually regrow, witnessing this extraordinary miracle unfold right before his eyes.

However, who could have predicted that Charlie would force him to endure the pain of losing his hand for a second time?

What’s worse is that Charlie’s actions were far more brutal than those of the Three Elders.

The Three Elders, who were his great grandfathers, had a certain level of sympathy for their younger kin. They cut cleanly and precisely, resulting in neat wounds, and most importantly, the pain was manageable.

But Charlie was not his great grandfather, and he showed no special consideration. His method of cutting off Victor's right hand felt like the brutal strike of an axe used for chopping wood.

What Victor Steel found most difficult to accept was that losing his right hand would have a far greater impact on his life than losing his left.

As a right-handed person, he performed the majority of tasks that required fine manipulation with his right hand. Without his left hand, his life would be minimally affected, but losing his right hand would mean he would have to relearn how to pick up food with chopsticks, which would significantly disrupt his daily life.

At that moment, Victor’s heart burned with hatred towards Charlie. He despised his cruelty and the tricks he employed. He could hardly fathom the existence of such a malicious person, who, for the sake of a prank, wasted something so valuable!

Seeing the murderous intent in Victor's eyes, Charlie smiled and warned, "I suggest you soften your gaze. If you continue looking at me like that, I’ll dig out your eyes. The only reason I’m keeping you around is so Morgana can see the left-right swapping technique with your hands. Your eyes are of no consequence."

Victor Steel trembled in fear, and his expression shifted from that of a fierce wolf to that of a pitiful dog.

With tears welling in his eyes, he looked at Charlie, trying to soften his expression to appear harmless.

Noticing his submissive demeanor, Charlie smiled with satisfaction, then pressed his foot down on Victor's chest, sneering, "I hope this experience teaches you a valuable lesson: there’s no such thing as a free lunch! Before you expect anything to fall into your lap, look in the mirror and ask yourself if you truly deserve it."

Victor could only nod repeatedly, tears streaming down his face as he cried out, “I don’t deserve it! I don’t deserve it!”

In that moment, he felt a mix of despair and resentment within him, wishing for Charlie, the harbinger of bad luck, to leave quickly so he could report to the Lord as soon as possible.

Satisfied that his message had been received, Charlie said, "Don’t forget your task. You must convey the message I instructed you to pass on. If you don’t, I’ll chop off your left hand the next time."

With that, Charlie ignored him and turned to leave.

No one in the Tiger Guards present noticed Charlie’s departure, and nobody realized that Victor Steel, having lost too much blood, had turned as pale as a sheet.

When Charlie severed Victor's right hand, he didn’t stop the bleeding but left a small amount of energy within Victor's body. That energy would preserve his life in a critical moment, but it would only sustain him, nothing more.

When Charlie encountered Jack, he couldn't help but ask, "Mr. Wade, did you really give the Reshaping Pill to Victor Steel?"

Charlie nodded with a smile, "Yes, I did. At first, this brat didn’t believe me and refused to take it, so I forced it into his mouth. Once he saw his left hand regrow little by little, he quickly capitulated."

Jack winced at the thought and sighed, "That guy is truly fortunate."

"Not really," Charlie replied with a smile. "After he took the Reshaping Pill and his left hand regrew, I then chopped off his right hand."

"What?!" Jack exclaimed, "You...you chopped off his right hand?"

"Yes," Charlie said with a grin. "I don’t have any connection to him, so there’s no way I could give him the pill for free. Morgana had his left hand chopped off, right? So, I let his left hand grow back and then cut off his right one. I wanted to show Morgana that she can’t outmatch me. If she doubts it, she can give Victor another Reshaping Pill, and once his right hand regrows, she can cut off his left again. Otherwise, anyone who sees Victor will think she lost to me through Victor’s two hands, and I’ll use his left hand to smack Morgana in the face."

Jack slapped his forehead, struck by emotion: "Mr. Wade, you’ve truly invested a lot just to slap Morgana in the face..."

As he spoke, he couldn’t help but admire: "But this has to be the most incredible form of face-slapping I’ve ever heard of. If this gets out in the Warriors Den, Morgana’s reputation will take a serious hit. In that sense, your pill is definitely worth it."

...

Ten minutes later, Leo Grant rushed back from the city center.

He had finally bought Victor Steel a prosthetic hand that served no practical purpose. The prosthetic was made of silicone, easily placed over his wrist, but it couldn’t grasp or hold anything—merely a cosmetic piece similar to an artificial eye.

At that moment, Victor Steel was on the verge of fainting, extremely weak. Luckily, the bleeding from his wrist had suddenly stopped, allowing him a moment to breathe a sigh of relief.

Just as he sensed that the power restraining his vocal cords was gradually fading, he heard a knock on the door followed by Leo Grant’s voice announcing, "Governor, I’m back."

Victor Steel shouted desperately, "General Grant, hurry! Save me!"

Upon hearing the distressed call for help, Leo Grant was immediately alarmed, kicking the door open and rushing inside.

The room was already immersed in blood. Governor Victor Steel sat on the floor, cradling his right wrist with his left hand, a look of agony etched across his face.

Leo Grant didn’t see any signs of a struggle; he merely noted Victor holding a blood-soaked wrist. Initially, he didn’t grasp the situation and asked, "Governor, what happened to you? Didn’t the elder treat your wrist? Why is it bleeding again?"

Victor Steel yelled in frustration, "Open your eyes and see which hand this is!"

Standing face to face with Victor, Leo Grant found his left hand adjacent to Victor’s right, and he responded in confusion, "Isn’t that your left hand? Governor, what are you talking about?"

Victor Steel exploded in anger, "Look carefully! This is my right hand! It’s my right hand! A mysterious man came earlier and cut it off!"

"What… What is happening? Am I dreaming?!"

Leo Grant was bewildered. After sorting out which hand was which, countless questions raced through his mind. The most pressing question was that before he left, Victor had a missing left hand, yet his right hand was intact. Now he was saying a mysterious person had severed his right hand, but hadn’t it been his left that had been removed by the elder? How could it be possible for it to appear now? Had he been seeing things?

It was no wonder Leo Grant was in shock. If anyone else found themselves in such a situation, they would likely feel equally bewildered, caught in a reality that seemed too bizarre to comprehend.

Seeing Leo still in shock, Victor Steel snapped, "What are you standing there for? Help me up! I need to report to the Lord immediately!"
