The Amazing Son in Law/

Chapter - 5917

Morgana's concerns are quite valid.

The Three Elders possess extraordinary power, and they are on the brink of opening the Soul Palace, which will undoubtedly enhance their abilities even further.

In fact, they are Morgana's strongest allies besides herself.

However, the Three Elders are currently confronted with a significant issue: they have no access to the Eternal Evergreen Pill.

Without the Eternal Evergreen Pill, living beyond 200 years becomes exceedingly difficult for them, meaning their remaining lifespan is actually shorter than Morgana's own.

If the Three Elders were aware that a mysterious adversary possesses a miraculous medicine like the Reshaping Pill, they would be greatly intimidated. Their reputation and ability to instill fear would be compromised, and should they pursue immortality along with the Eternal Evergreen Pill, their desires might lead them toward the enemy. This could result in them being beyond Morgana's control.

Even though the Three Elders are all part of the Mirren family, Morgana knows that the allure of immortality is hard for anyone to resist.

Thus, the incident involving Victor must be kept under wraps at all costs. It must remain unknown to the Three Elders, the Warriors Den, and any others in the Mirren family.

Aemon recognized that Morgana's worries were not without merit.

When working for a superior or a relative, the underlying motivation is largely financial. If key employees discovered that their rivals could effortlessly spend vast sums—like hundreds of billions on someone from their side—they would find it unbelievable. Earning that kind of money could take several lifetimes!

With this in mind, Aemon couldn't help but exclaim, "That scoundrel truly is despicable! This was all part of his plan! He's harming the enemy while also inflicting major wounds on himself!"

He adjusted his wording and added, "No, he's harming the enemy while inflicting a staggering loss on himself!"

Morgana responded with a grim expression, "No one knows how many Reshaping Pills he possesses. If he has a Phoenix Vine, it wouldn't be difficult for him to refine dozens."

She looked at Aemon with cold resolve, "This must not happen again. I suggest we order Victor to act swiftly! Additionally, find out who else knows about this besides him. If his aide is already aware, have him cut off his left hand and compel him to take poison. Upon his death, he will be posthumously honored as a General of the Cavalry, with his family receiving the same benefits."

Aemon asked cautiously, "Lord, what should we do about Victor?"

Morgana stated, "With both hands gone, it's impossible for him to remain as the Governor of the Right Army Commander's Office. Appointing a man without hands as Governor would be a subject of ridicule among the Mirren family members. He should surrender his position and tokens, and then retire from the Right Army Commander's Office. Does he have a younger brother?"

Aemon nodded, "Yes, he has a younger brother named Sebastian Mirren, who currently manages internal affairs for the Right Army Commander's Office."

Morgana replied, "Let Sebastian take over as temporary Governor and evaluate his performance. Plus, ensure he provides extra care and support for Victor and his family."

At this, Morgana scoffed, "Such a useless person should be executed as a warning. However, Victor has already vanished, and many might suspect my involvement in his execution. Allowing him to retire can serve as reassurance to everyone. If two Governors disappear in quick succession, the role of Governor will become perilous."

Aemon breathed a sigh of relief and quickly responded, "Thank you, Lord Mirren, for your mercy."

Aemon differs from Morgana in that he still cherishes the familial bonds of the Mirren family. Having served Morgana and with no descendants of his own, he feels a heightened sense of responsibility towards the family’s future. He deeply regrets the thought of Victor’s execution. If Victor is left abandoned after losing his hands, he would certainly live a life filled with despair. With more support, at least he could maintain a decent quality of life.

Morgana regarded Aemon pointedly, "Aemon, your strong feelings for the Mirren family are commendable, and I appreciate that. However, you must realize that the Mirren family has vastly expanded under my protection over the past few centuries. The larger the family grows, the harder it is to control and manage them. There will always be individuals who overstep their boundaries, simply because they bear the surname Mirren. Therefore, I believe that future disruptions in the Warriors Den will arise from our own family members. Sometimes, you must be harsh when necessary. If you treat your nephew like a son, then when you have hundreds or thousands of nephews, can you remember each one personally? The loss of a few among them is not catastrophic for the continuity of the Mirren bloodline, but can serve as a lesson to keep the others in line. Otherwise, the Warriors Den and the entire Mirren family could collapse, overtaken one by one by our enemies."

Although Aemon did not entirely agree with Morgana's perspective, he respectfully replied, "I understand."

Morgana sighed and stated more solemnly, "Time is becoming increasingly critical, and the situation is escalating. If I fail to secure the Millenium Return Pill, I will soon enter true middle age or even old age. There's a chance I might find myself making sacrifices like my master once did, abandoning everything and everyone around me for the sake of breaking through to immortality. When that time comes, I will entrust the Warriors Den and the Mirren family to you. There are far too many members of our family, much like countless birds in a cage. If the cage can no longer contain them, they will all attempt to fly off in different directions. To manage them successfully, one must possess an iron grip. The occasional death or injury among them will not significantly affect the survival of the Mirren bloodline, yet it can serve as a warning to keep them in check. Otherwise, the Warriors Den and the entire Mirren family may face ruin, collapsing one by one before our enemies."

Aemon quickly replied with respect, "Master, I believe you will certainly discover the recipe for the Millenium Return Pill, just like Lord Morvel, and extend your life for another 500 years. I have no desire to lead the Warriors Den; I simply wish to remain loyally by your side until my dying breath!"

Morgana acknowledged this with a faint nod, "I know you are loyal. If I genuinely have the opportunity to acquire the Millenium Return Pill recipe in this life and locate Phoenix Vine, I will indeed be able to refine the Eternal Evergreen Pill. In that case, I will grant you a chance at 500 more years."

Upon hearing this, Aemon immediately knelt and bowed deeply, exclaiming, "Master Mirren's generosity will be etched in my memory for all my days! If Master Mirren grants me 500 more years, I will dedicate myself to serving you until the very last day of that time!"

Morgana nodded in approval, "Very well, rise now. Complete the tasks and then report back to me."

Aemon quickly asked, "Lord Mirren, what about the Three Elders? Initially, we planned for them to wait in Nigeria to avoid exposure, and then urgently transfer them to Morocco once we located the enemy. However, given this recent incident, they should not be permitted to pursue the enemy in Morocco, correct?"

Morgana confirmed, "Do not allow them to contact Victor. Have them prepare to withdraw, but instruct them to remain in Nigeria. They should find a way to exit Nigeria without directly flying back to Buenos Aires, and instead take more circuitous routes through neighboring countries."

Aemon promptly affirmed, "Understood. I will inform Victor at once!"
