Chapter - 5930

Seeing that her mother was also interested in going to Tokyo, Claire explained, "Mom, we’re heading to Tokyo because Loreen got a ticket to an American singer’s concert and invited Charlie and me to join her."

"To watch a concert..." Elaine muttered in disappointment, "That kind of event is the worst for me. The noise makes my head ache."

Quickly adding, she suggested, "How about this, Claire? I’ll join you. When you’re busy with the concert, we can go shopping together. I could stay at the hotel while you watch the show."

Then Elaine remembered something and continued, "And you know Loreen is going alone, right? Doesn’t she need to book a room? Why not reserve a twin room? I can stay with her, and you and Charlie can share your room. That way, we can save on accommodation costs."

Claire responded with exasperation, "Mom, it’s not me who planned this trip to Japan; it was Loreen. If I bring you along, I have no idea how the others would feel about it. Plus, who wants to share a room when going out? It would definitely be inconvenient having more people around for no reason."

Claire then added, "Also, we won't be there long. We leave the day before the concert and return the day after. Our schedule is really tight; there won't be much time for anything."

Elaine, hearing this, reacted angrily: "It’s a bit dull with such little time. Going out should be about relaxation and comfort. I don’t want to be running around like a soldier on a mission."

Seeing Elaine’s reluctance, Claire tried to persuade her further: "Yes, Mom, the schedule is so packed that we really won’t have time to have fun. If you want to visit Japan, I promise I’ll take you to see the cherry blossoms next spring."

"Oh, that sounds wonderful!" Elaine responded cheerfully, and she had no intention of joining this trip to Tokyo.

Charlie had never been interested in concerts, so he reluctantly agreed to attend Stefanie’s concert. Even though the American singer Tawana was incredibly popular, even more so than Stefanie, Charlie found it hard to feel excited.

However, since it was his wife who was enthusiastic about it and she was traveling to a foreign country with Loreen, he would feel uneasy if he didn’t accompany her, so he agreed without much choice.

He booked a flight from Aurous Hill to Tokyo for noon the day after tomorrow and also reserved a room at the best hotel in Tokyo, the Aman Hotel, which was the same hotel where Zara and Fitz had been kidnapped.

With the trip the day after tomorrow approaching, Charlie decided to visit the Elys-Champ Hot Springs Villa early the next morning.

He went to Elys-Champ mainly to see Zeba, who was hiding out there.

Although Zeba had been in seclusion for some time, her isolation was more like house arrest thanks to Charlie’s arrangement.

Charlie asked Don Albert to provide her with excellent living conditions while also ensuring that Don Albert and others kept a close watch on her to prevent her from leaving Elys-Champ.

This was not only out of concern for her safety but also because he feared that if she appeared publicly, it could lead to complications.

Fortunately, Zeba had honored her promise and never expressed a desire to leave.

Zeba was surprised to see Charlie.

It had been a long time since she had last seen him, and she had begun to think that he had abandoned her.

Her reasoning was simple: Charlie had clearly told her that he had no way to remove the poison from her body for the time being. With the poison untouched, Zeba resigned herself to having only about a year left to live. For someone with such a short timeline, she felt she was of little value.

Consequently, Zeba believed that since she was no longer of value to Charlie, it was natural for him not to exert energy on her, which explained his extended absence.

Open-minded as she was, Zeba did not blame Charlie. Her current plan was simply to remain in seclusion and practice. When the end arrived, if Charlie still hadn’t found a way to detoxify her, she would part ways with him and find a remote, beautiful place to quietly await her fate.

At one point, she had considered confronting the Warriors Den desperately. With a self-destructing formation left by Morgana in Soul Palace, she figured she could be a human bomb if it came to that.

However, after taking time to reflect, she realized that given her knowledge of Warriors Den, encountering Morgana was improbable. At best, she could direct her anger towards the Mirren family’s descendants.

Zeba didn’t want to battle the Mirren family’s pawns, so she ultimately abandoned her path of vengeance.

Seeing Zeba gaze at him with surprise, Charlie said, "I’m sorry, Miss Salazar. I’ve been busy lately and haven’t had the time to see you. I hope you’re comfortable here?"

Zeba snapped back to reality and replied respectfully, "Thank you for your concern, Mr. Wade. Everything is fine. Don Albert and the others have taken excellent care of me, meeting my requests promptly."

Charlie nodded, then added apologetically, "Miss Salazar, I’m truly sorry for another matter. I haven’t yet found a way to break the poison in your body. But please rest assured, I will do everything I can to find a solution."

Zeba saw the regret in Charlie’s eyes and felt a touch of appreciation. She said respectfully, "Mr. Wade still cares about me, which I deeply appreciate. Regarding the poison, I’ve come to terms with it and can accept the outcome. Please don’t worry too much, Mr. Wade."

Charlie smiled and shifted the topic: "By the way, Miss Salazar, while in Africa, I destroyed a base of Warriors Den and unexpectedly met a lady who resembles you quite a bit. She’s a deputy of the Right Army Governor’s Office at Warriors Den and has attained enlightenment at just twenty."

"She attained enlightenment at twenty?" Zeba exclaimed in surprise. "How come I’ve never heard of such a talent in the Right Army Governor's Office…?"

Charlie replied, "She’s a collateral member of the Mirren family and is someone even Morgana has taken note of. Like you, she also harbors this poison in her body. She has chosen to work for me now, but I don’t have any specific tasks for her, so I plan to let her settle in Aurous Hill. If you’re interested, you can meet her and see if you can become friends."

"Absolutely!" Zeba responded with enthusiasm. "A genius like her must have insights in her training. Interacting with someone like her could greatly enhance my development. Plus, since we share similar circumstances, we’d likely understand each other well."

Charlie nodded and said, "I’ll arrange for someone to bring her to Elys-Champ, so you can meet her then."

Continuing, Charlie mentioned, "By the way, her name is quite similar to yours— her name is Tara."

"Tara..." Zeba smiled lightly and said, "That does complement my name nicely; it feels like fate."

After this, she inquired of Charlie, "Mr. Wade, may I ask if you’re able to share the details of your trip to Africa this time?"

Charlie nodded and provided her with a detailed account of his experiences in Africa.

Zeba listened intently, unable to contain her approval as she applauded during the more thrilling moments. Upon hearing about Tara’s journey, she couldn’t help but sigh, "Morgana’s control is truly extraordinary. That woman hasn’t even met Tara yet, but she’s already administered poison to her. She must be fearful of losing control."

Charlie affirmed, "The only people in the entire Warriors Den who haven’t been poisoned are probably the Mirren family. Even without the poison, Morgana can still control them effectively. The Mirren family has always been reliant on her, and she commands tens of thousands of dead soldiers and cavalry guards; these individuals aren’t merely loyal to the Mirren family but are primarily controlled by Morgana. If they step out of line, she has no qualms about eliminating them without a trace. Should the Mirren family exhibit any ulterior motives, everyone under their command would turn against them."

Zeba concurred, saying, "Morgana is practically the female version of Emperor Chongzhen; she trusts no one but herself, and no one can escape her grasp."

She continued, saying, "Fortunately, Tara hasn’t encountered Morgana yet; otherwise, Morgana would surely have set up a self-exposure formation in her Soul Palace."

Charlie explained, "Her greatest threat currently is the inability to detoxify, so I hope that both of you can collaborate to explore the operations and hidden logic of this potent poison. After all, both of you are affected, and there are many insights that only you can uncover. If you can discover the essence of the issue, I may finally find a solution."
