The Amazing Son in Law/

Chapter - 5972

The backstage area is a long, narrow corridor shaped like two Y's, with two entrances in the front and two exits at the back.

Despite having two entrances and exits, there’s no escape in the center. The numerous rooms lining both sides of the corridor offer no alternative exits. Additionally, the uniform facade of the dome ensures that even though there are windows in the backstage rooms, they cannot be opened at all. Thus, they find themselves trapped in the middle, faced with two groups of samurai and little chance of escape.

The combat capabilities of the Japanese samurai are on par with those of ninjas. With so many foes attacking from both the front and back, and lacking heavy weaponry, escape seems nearly impossible.

Except for Charlie and Michaela, the faces of everyone else were pale with fear. Even Mitsui Yoshitaka, who had always exuded confidence, sensed that he might be facing dire consequences today.

In a critical moment, a cold glint flashed in Charlie's eyes. He sternly asked the now-frightened Mitsui Yoshitaka, "If I kill someone here, can you protect me?!"

"Ah? What...what?!" Mitsui Yoshitaka, already trembling with fear, found himself momentarily stunned by Charlie's outrageous question. He stammered, "You...what did you just say?"

Charlie glared at his miserable expression, feeling outrage boil within him.

In this day and age, it's truly impossible to trust any wealthy scion.

Even if one manages a trillion-dollar fortune and maintains a respectable appearance, his true character remains elusive until one engages with him directly.

Mitsui Yoshitaka's reaction clearly indicated that he had never faced significant adversity.

Upon reflection, it's evident that the Mitsui family, a prestigious lineage that has infiltrated various sectors in Japan, rose to prominence a century ago. The head of the Mitsui family at that time must have been quite capable, but Yoshitaka himself was not yet fifty. Considering his age, it is clear he has not encountered any substantial challenges. He wasn't around during World War II or the post-war recovery; by the time he was born, Japan had already undergone significant recovery and was beginning its post-war rise with U.S. assistance.

When Mitsui Yoshitaka entered the world, his family was thriving, and the community was vibrant. The Japanese no longer boisterously shouted "Bageya Road" wherever they went, but instead quietly referred to "Smith Masai."

During his elementary school years, despite Japan suffering from the effects of the Plaza Accord, these events left little impact on someone of his age and background. By the time he graduated college and began training as the family’s successor, the Mitsui family had been the unrivaled kings of Japan for decades, commanding respect from all who encountered him. His path had been smooth, making the current peril all the more shocking.

Seeing the older man in such a panic that he could hardly speak, Charlie slapped him hard across the face, causing him to stagger. Had it not been for Mitsui Shinmei supporting him, he would have collapsed to the ground.

From childhood through young adulthood, and now edging toward middle age, Mitsui Yoshitaka had never been struck by anyone. Now, in his state of shock, he was awakened by Charlie's slap, yet he didn’t express any anger. Instead, he asked in a pitiful tone, “Mr. Wade... why are you still hitting me at a time like this?”

Observing the two groups of warriors charging towards them, swords raised, Charlie pressed him urgently, “I’m asking you, if I kill people here, can you cover it up?!”

Mitsui Yoshitaka, eyes wide, was momentarily bewildered again by the slap that had just snapped him back to reality.

What is happening here?

With everyone on the verge of being sliced to pieces by samurai blades, Charlie was asking if he could cover his acts of murder. Was he planning on killing these warriors too?

It felt akin to being trapped in the wilderness and starving, only for someone to ask whether one would prefer lobster or abalone. Was he out of his mind?

Seeing her father completely lost at such a critical moment, Mitsui Shinmei turned to Charlie. "Mr. Wade, as long as we make it out alive today, you have to flatten the dome and deal with Odosan, or else I will sever my ties with him!"

Mitsui Yoshitaka, panicking, exclaimed, “Shinmei, you—”

Charlie interrupted him with a fierce glare, declaring, “Shut up!”

He then flicked his wrist, revealing a collection of eyebrow pencils, eyeliners, and lip glosses that he had hidden within his cuffs, gripping them between his fingers.

The warriors were already closing in, their swords poised for attack.

Mitsui Yoshitaka, his body trembling, pushed open the dressing room door, seeking refuge. Although the wooden door would offer no real protection from the samurai's swords, he figured that surviving for even a moment longer was worthwhile.

Just as he attempted to flee, Mitsui Shinmei yanked him back with great force, warning him coldly, “Odo-san has lost his honor today. Please maintain some dignity for yourself in these final moments!”

Frustrated, Mitsui Yoshitaka retorted, “What dignity? Mr. Wade will soon be minced by those warriors!”

No sooner had he spoken than a piercing noise filled the air!

Countless sharp glints rained down from above, reflecting light from the ceiling in a dazzling display.

In that moment, Charlie spread his arms wide, deflecting the speeding projectiles, resembling fighter jets whizzing past.

Instantaneously, the flickering lights from the samurai swords vanished, replaced by the sounds of metal clattering to the ground alongside the thuds of bodies collapsing.

As the scene unfolded, everyone’s eyes widened in terror at the sight before them.

The samurai charging from both sides had abruptly fallen like wheat before a harvester.

Even more horrifyingly, a colorful plastic tube was now embedded in the forehead of each fallen warrior.

Upon closer inspection, it was evident that these were high-end cosmetics typically used by women.

Charlie shook his wrist again, brandishing several more cosmetic items between his fingers.

Everyone quickly realized that those who had fallen were struck down by the very cosmetics Charlie had thrown!

None of them had witnessed such a chilling method of killing, not even Michaela.

Yet, for Michaela, this was no longer shocking; she understood that Charlie possessed extraordinary powers beyond human comprehension. After being astonished by someone repeatedly, one’s nerves become dulled.

This harrowing spectacle that left everyone aghast was, in fact, the result of Charlie consciously restraining 90% of his strength.

He merely infused a small amount of energy into those cosmetics before using it to launch them against the enemy.

Had he unleashed more than 30% of his energy, it wouldn't just have been the front-fighting warriors who would have fallen; he could have eliminated all thirty or more adversaries on either side effortlessly.

The reason Charlie withheld his full strength was primarily to avoid revealing too much of himself to these unfamiliar people.

Even so, the Mitsui family, Tawanna, and Trevor stood in stunned silence, gazing at Charlie as if witnessing a deity descending from the heavens!

The feeling was just as powerful as when Don Albert and others first saw Charlie summon thunder!
