Chapter - 5980

The Bluestone Alliance initially believed that capturing Tawanna would be an easy task. However, they haven't even caught a glimpse of her yet, and more than half of their members have already been killed or injured.

The survivors are in a perilous situation as well. They're under coordinated attacks from both sides, and it remains uncertain whether they will manage to survive.

While the Sumiyoshi outside seem to have a relatively easier time overall, they also find themselves in a tough spot. Countless gangsters are likely hiding within the area. Completely wiping them out isn’t feasible, yet retreating now would feel like a waste of their efforts.

Just as they were grappling with their doubts, the helicopter from the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department finally arrived.

Tokyo's police helicopters are typically stationed in various parts of the city, so when the order came from the head of the Metropolitan Police Department, they swiftly made their way to the vicinity of the dome.

The Sumiyoshi members, who were lying in wait, were caught off guard when, right as they were about to tighten their encirclement, more than a dozen police helicopters surged in from all directions overhead.

These gangsters, well-versed in Tokyo’s underworld, could easily identify the aircraft as belonging to the Metropolitan Police Department.

The helicopters dove toward the dome at high speed, nearly at full throttle.

The leader of the gang panicked and muttered, "What’s happening? Why are there so many cops...?"

One of his underlings urgently replied, "Brother, those are SWAT from the Metropolitan Police Department! They’re anti-terrorism units! We only have a handful of pistols; I don’t think we stand a chance against them!"

The leader ground his teeth and exclaimed, "Darn it! Those Yakuza scumbags must be planning something big inside!"

The underling asked, "Should we retreat, brother?!"

"Retreat!" the leader said after a moment of thought. "If we don’t, we’ll all end up in custody!"

With that, he called out to everyone around him, "Quick! Everyone, get in the car!"

Upon hearing this, all the gang members scrambled into their vehicles and fled.

Despite the helicopters sweeping rapidly over the parking lot, their numbers meant that they had to maintain safe distances. As a consequence, more than a dozen helicopters had to slow their approach. By the time they began hovering and a large number of SWAT officers started deploying ropes to rappel down, the Sumiyoshi members had already made their escape.

However, the SWAT team did not pursue the fleeing Sumiyoshi members; instead, they quickly surrounded the exit. Someone shouted through a loudspeaker, "Listen up! This is the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department SWAT team. All individuals must drop your weapons, raise your hands, and walk to the exit to surrender. If you do not comply, we may resort to using force or even firearms!"

The members of the Bluestone Alliance turned pale upon hearing that SWAT had arrived. In their current predicament, escape seemed impossible.

The Inagawa members were exceedingly dismayed, knowing that with SWAT on scene, their chances of obtaining the hidden flower were slim. Losing out on the hidden flower was one issue, but they had also lost many brothers and killed off a significant number of Yakuza members. If they fell into police custody, the sentences for them and their two to three hundred associates could easily add up to thousands of years.

The Yakuza members trapped in the innermost area were overwhelmed with emotion, nearly brought to tears.

After facing overwhelming despair, the arrival of SWAT rekindled their hope for survival.

For them, being captured wasn't as significant, nor was going to prison; what mattered most was the chance to leave this hellhole alive.

With SWAT’s arrival came the hope of escape.

Joyful tears streamed down their faces, some even burying their heads in their hands and crying.

Even though they were gang members who usually strutted around Tokyo with confidence, the events of the night had shattered their worldview.

The police's loudspeaker communicated their message so clearly that Mitsui Yoshitaka and the others at the center heard it too.

Taking a deep breath of relief, Mitsui Yoshitaka turned to Tawanna, who didn’t understand Japanese, and assured her, "Ms. Sweet, please don't worry. The police are here, and we will surely make it out safely."

Tawanna responded calmly, "As long as Mr. Wade is here, I have no concerns."

Realizing his mistake, Mitsui Yoshitaka understood that their safety was due to Charlie, not just the arrival of SWAT.

He quickly added, "Don’t worry, Mr. Wade. I’ve already informed the head of the Metropolitan Police Department, the Superintendent General, and they’ll assist us in handling these gang members. I’ll ensure they maintain a safe distance from Miss Sweet and uphold the Iga Ninja's defensive boundary."

Charlie replied, "Later, ask the head of the Metropolitan Police Department to call your brother and inform him that he heard from your daughter that you have been killed. I want to see if he’ll take the bait."

...

At that moment, more SWAT officers and regular police from the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department were rushing to the scene, even the Superintendent General himself arrived in person.

The Superintendent approached the head of SWAT and asked, "What’s the situation?"

The head responded, "Director, when we got here, a group of armed individuals had just fled, likely having spotted our arrival. In taking over the scene, we counted a total of seven dead bodies, but their identities are still unconfirmed."

The Superintendent inquired, "What's the situation inside?"

The head continued, "We shouted for them to come out and surrender, but no one has emerged yet."

The Superintendent pressed, "Can we determine which factions are inside?"

SWAT’s leader replied, "We’ve begun investigating the vehicles abandoned outside. So far, we’ve identified that they chiefly belong to the Inagawa and Yakuza, though there are two or three vehicles registered to the Sumiyoshi, indicating their possible presence here. They likely belong to those who escaped."

Japanese gangs are legally recognized. Major organizations like the Yakuza and Inagawa have member rosters within the Metropolitan Police Department. The members are marked as gangsters in the police database, enabling easy identification of their vehicles, residences, and assets.

The Superintendent's expression darkened at the revelation that all three major gangs were involved.

He stepped away to call Mitsui Yoshitaka and, once connected, politely asked, "Mr. Mitsui, are you alright?"

Mitsui Yoshitaka replied, "I’m fine. I just heard your men shouting. When can we capture those thugs?"

The Superintendent assured, "Mr. Mitsui, please don’t worry. I’ll act immediately. Just hold on a little longer!"

Mitsui Yoshitaka retorted coldly, "Move quickly! If you hesitate any longer, this situation will spiral out of control!"

Mitsui Yoshitaka wanted to keep the matter under wraps; if it became known that Tawanna was attacked on the Mitsui family’s territory, it would be a severe blow to their reputation.

The Superintendent was equally concerned about public exposure. A violent gang showdown and murder for hire would make for sensational news and amplify the consequences if reported widely.

Thus, he replied to Mitsui Yoshitaka, "You need not worry excessively. The area is completely secured; outsiders can’t enter. Even if someone captures a photo of our helicopter, we can claim it’s a training exercise. In any case, we won't allow this incident to gain traction!" Mitsui Yoshitaka warned, "You better keep that promise!"

"Rest assured!" the Superintendent responded respectfully. "I’ll maintain strict control over the scene and will not allow the incident to escalate!"

Mitsui Yoshitaka continued, "By the way, I need to discuss one more thing."

The Superintendent quickly responded, "Mr. Mitsui, please go ahead."

Mitsui Yoshitaka instructed, "Get in touch with my brother, Mitsui Yoshiyasu, and tell him I’m sorry to convey some bad news. Inform him that you received a call from Shinmei, stating that I’ve been killed."

The Superintendent was taken aback and asked, "Mr. Mitsui, why are you doing this?"

Mitsui Yoshitaka snapped coldly, "Stop asking questions and just do it!"

After that, he hung up the phone abruptly.

At that moment, the head of SWAT approached the Superintendent and asked, "Director, what’s our next move? Should we prepare assault gear and look for a chance to strike?"

"No need," the Superintendent replied darkly, "I’ll personally reach out to these gang leaders and request their cooperation to bring out their members!"
