Chapter - 5986

Charlie's words suddenly brought clarity to Mitsui Yoshitaka.

The truth was surprisingly straightforward, yet he had failed to see it until now.

The respect that these gangsters receive once they enter prison is not determined by their previous status, but by the influence they can wield while incarcerated.

Once these two individuals are inside, as long as they apply enough pressure on the new leaders, they can even orchestrate hits on the former boss from behind bars. It would be quite easy for them to ensure that Nishida Yuhong and Takaoka Machi lead miserable lives, wouldn’t it?

With the stakes made clear, Mitsui Yoshitaka felt a sense of relief wash over him, smiling as he said, "Mr. Wade is correct. Given this, I will choose to disregard them for now. Once they're in prison, I'll allow them to handle things at their own pace!"

He then addressed the Superintendent : "Watanabe, the Yakuza and the Inagawa have caused you an enormous amount of trouble this time. They must pay the price!"

The Superintendent General nodded in agreement, stating, "Mr. Mitsui, rest assured. Their brazen behavior will not go unpunished. Tonight, I've ordered an emergency raid on the businesses of both families. Their bars, casinos, and all establishments on Fengyue Street will be temporarily shut down under various pretenses for inspection and rectification purposes. I aim to make them feel a significant sting and ensure they remember it for a long time!"

Like Mitsui Yoshitaka, the Superintendent was extremely frustrated with these gangs. They had audaciously committed such a major act, disregarding these two men entirely. Even without Mitsui Yoshitaka's suggestion, Watanabe would have done everything in his power to severely punish these organizations.

Mitsui Yoshitaka remarked with a grim expression, "I will convene a meeting of the Mitsui family tonight to devise a plan. Starting tomorrow, we will launch a comprehensive crackdown on the Yakuza, Inagawa, and Sumiyoshi!"

Just then, a voice crackled through the Superintendent's intercom: "Director Watanabe, we've dispatched trucks to transport the bodies. Mr. Mitsui is eager to go in and identify the relatives. Should we allow him in?"

The Superintendent understood that the Mr. Mitsui in question was Mitsui Yoshiyasu, who was waiting outside. He turned to Mitsui Yoshitaka and asked, "Mr. Mitsui, what are your thoughts?"

Mitsui Yoshitaka did not respond immediately but looked over at Charlie: "Mr. Wade, what do you think?"

With most of his own security compromised, Mitsui Yoshitaka now relied on Charlie's assistance to protect his brother. At the very least, he needed to keep him under control, which he could not manage alone.

Charlie understood the implication and replied, "I'll have the Iga ninja relocate those samurai to different rooms for detention, and then I'll send Hattori Hanzo along with a few trusted confidants to follow you and heed your instructions."

Mitsui Yoshitaka expressed his gratitude, saying, "Thank you very much, Mr. Wade!"

Charlie immediately contacted Hattori Hanzo, instructing his men to secure the samurai first to prevent Mitsui Yoshiyasu from uncovering any details on the way in.

At that moment, as the Iga ninjas were helping the samurai to their designated rooms for detention, a plane that had taken off from Washington had just crossed out of U.S. airspace and entered the ocean.

Onboard the plane, a blond man received a satellite call and hurriedly made his way to the private cabin at the rear of the aircraft, knocking on the door.

"Chairman, we have a situation!"

After making a secret payment of $1 billion, the chairman had returned to his cabin to rest while awaiting news regarding Tawanna's fate.

Suddenly, he heard his subordinate’s alarmed shout at the door and quickly opened it, asking in a frantic tone, "What’s going on? Did the initial wave of assassinations fail?!"

"No..." the blond man shook his head in trepidation, tears welling in his eyes as he explained, "I just received a call from your father. He said Steve Rothschild of the Rothschild family has just circulated a message among the chaebol circles regarding Tawanna!"

"What?!" The chairman’s heart raced at the news, prompting him to ask urgently, "What exactly did he say?!"

The blond man replied, "Steve Rothschild stated that whoever ordered the $1 billion bounty related to Tawanna must withdraw it immediately and contact him directly to explain the situation. Otherwise, if he finds out who it is, he will pursue them relentlessly until there is nothing left..."

The chairman felt his knees buckle, nearly collapsing. Fortunately, the blond man was there to steady him, allowing him to regain his composure.

He gasped in disbelief, "How could a mere singer like Tawanna have ties to the Rothschild heir?! I've spent years trying to break into the inner circle of the Rothschild family, yet Tawanna somehow has Steve Rothschild—the second-most powerful figure—advocating for her publicly! How on earth did she manage this?!"

The blond man was equally perplexed, saying, "I... don't know... But your father warned that if this bounty is linked to you, you need to pull it back immediately and explain everything to Steve Rothschild. If it’s uncovered, your entire family could face dire consequences..."

"Goodness..." the chairman exclaimed in panic, "That’s a billion dollars in hidden expenses, plus an additional hundred million in fees. Regardless of whether it succeeds or not, withdrawing it halfway would waste that hundred million. If I pull out now, it's all a loss. Besides... Steve might not even trace it back to me, right? Doesn’t the underground network keep client identities confidential? They’re experts in this area; surely they adhere to professional ethics!"

Trying to reassure himself, he added, "Additionally, we are using cryptocurrency. The data is on the blockchain and is supposed to be anonymous. The transaction protocols are safeguarded by both the cryptocurrency provider and the underground operators, meaning it shouldn’t get exposed, right?"

The blond man quickly interjected, "Chairman, this isn’t the time to be optimistic! The so-called ethics of the underground networks apply to ordinary clients, but not to the Rothschild family. If the Rothschilds want, they can unearth every operator in this underground network. These operators might have significant influence in the underground realm, but if they find themselves in the spotlight, the Rothschild family could obliterate them without hesitation. How could they hope to keep our secrets then?"

The blond man continued, "Moreover, cryptocurrency isn’t a foolproof shield. You’ve transferred a billion dollars in cryptocurrency, a staggering amount, making you highly visible in circulation. In today’s market, you’re likely the only one with such a significant sum. If the Rothschild family discovers a way to trace you through your transactions involving U.S. dollars and Bitcoin..."

"Let’s consider this scenario: you secretly allocate a billion dollars to eliminate Tawanna, while the Rothschild family may secretly allocate two billion dollars to expose you. At that point, you would truly have provoked the Rothschild family!"

"Chairman, resisting this could exacerbate your troubles!"
