Chapter - 5998

Tawanna paused for a moment, not quite sure how to respond.

Confused, she asked, “Honey, what do you mean by that? I don’t really understand.”

Trev offered a bitter smile and explained, “I mean I’ll be going back for training soon. You have these twenty performances in China ahead of you. After I return to the United States, will we still be together?”

Treva quickly replied, “Of course! Are you saying we should break up during these twenty concerts?”

Her tone turned somewhat downcast as she admitted, “I’m not entirely sure, but I just don’t feel as confident as I used to.”

After hesitating for a moment, Trevor continued, “You know, after everything that happened in Tokyo, our perspectives on the world may have changed significantly. Before this, I never imagined someone like Mr. Wade could exist. I worry that your views about life and your choices in a partner might shift because of this incident.”

Tawanna smiled, intending to comfort Trevor at first, but then realized that since he had opened up about this, it would be insincere to keep her own feelings hidden.

So she let out a slight sigh and said seriously, “Honestly, dear, Mr. Wade truly astonished me. Like you, I never thought there could be a man like him in the world. As a woman, of course, I would be impressed. Would I be moved? Absolutely.”

Upon hearing this, Trev didn’t seem surprised, but a hint of loneliness crept in.

Tawanna continued, “Darling, but feelings like these are simply a part of being human, just as after getting to know him, you might find yourself admiring him too, and that’s something you can’t control.”

“Consider this: your fans and my fans admire and appreciate us because of the qualities that set us apart from ordinary people. Don’t our fans yearn for love? Don’t they want to marry and start families?”

“In the end, you’re a fan of Mr. Wade, and so am I. But like most sensible fans, I won’t harbor unrealistic dreams. I admire him and like him, but in reality, you are my partner.”

Tawanna’s words reflected her true feelings.

She truly admired Charlie, yet she understood that she and Charlie came from completely different worlds. The best she could hope for was to transition from being a fan to being a friend. She might not even be worthy of being his confidante.

Initially, Trevor expected Tawanna to either deny her feelings or confess her love for Charlie and end their relationship.

To his surprise, Tawanna expressed heartfelt words that deeply touched him.

He didn’t feel jealousy towards Charlie; instead, he shared Tawanna's admiration for him.

After hearing Tawanna articulate her feelings for Charlie, he realized how she truly regarded him in her heart.

Even after Tawanna admitted her admiration for Charlie, he felt neither lost nor envious.

On the contrary, he was profoundly moved by Tawanna's honesty.

With tears welling in his eyes, he asked, “So we will still be lovers, right?”

At that moment, Tawanna's eyes were also glistening with tears. She nodded earnestly and said, “I’ve had many different boyfriends in the past, but you are the one who has been with me the longest, shared so much with me, and knows much of my history. I believe we are well-suited for each other, and we can go further in life together.”

Trev smiled and asked, “If one day we enter the realm of marriage, do you think we could invite Mr. Wade to be our witness?”

Tawanna laughed heartily, but tears escaped as well. Wiping her eyes, she responded, “I’m not sure about that… but you’ll need to propose to me first, right?”

Suddenly realizing, Trev exclaimed, “Baby… do you mean you… you agreed?”

Tawanna shook her head, saying, “I won’t agree until I see a ten-carat diamond ring.”

Trev immediately reassured her, “Don’t worry, baby, I’ll look for a diamond ring that’s over ten carats as soon as I return to the United States. Once my training is completed, I’ll fly back to China with the ring and propose to you.”

Tawanna looked at him with a smile and said, “You can propose, but I can’t promise you how I’ll respond.”

Trev nodded excitedly.

He understood that Tawanna’s words implied she had already accepted his proposal in her heart, but he wanted to create a proposal moment that would delight her.

At that moment, his anxious heart from the past few days finally found peace.

If the person you love admires someone else, one might feel jealousy and distress. But when you have both experienced what that person has done and witnessed their greatness together, negativity fades away.

Even if he and Tawanna couldn’t grow old together, one thing was for sure: until they left this world, they would always admire that man as a guiding light and an idol in their lives.

At this point, the plane sailed through the clouds, and the distant land slowly came into view.

Tawanna turned to him and said, “Darling, we’re approaching China. I finally understand why my fans travel across the globe to see my concerts. Every moment spent with your idol is exhilarating and thrilling.”

Trev smiled, agreeing, “Absolutely! I’m also thrilled thinking about seeing Mr. Wade soon.”

Tawanna added, “I’ve never visited the city where Mr. Wade lives, but I really want to buy a house there. Trevor, let’s go see it together before the show starts.”

“Okay,” Trevor readily agreed. “If a world-class star like you buys a house in the city where Mr. Wade resides, it should have a significant promotional impact on that area. They say you’ve become a symbol of economic growth. This time in Aurous Hill, you can use your fame to help more people learn about this place.”

Tawanna nodded and extended her hand to shake Trevor’s firmly.

She knew she could never find another man like Trevor, who had faced so many challenges and dangers alongside her. If he truly proposed, she would accept and build a family with him, ending years of emotional wandering.

As these thoughts crossed her mind, Charlie’s face reappeared in her thoughts.

Looking at Trevor with a happy expression, she felt a twinge of guilt for having deceived both him and herself.
