Chapter - 6025

The private doctor felt an overwhelming sense of embarrassment. He simply couldn't understand what mistake Hank had made regarding his medication, nor could he fathom why Hank seemed to consistently anticipate health issues.

Recalling his recent comments about the perspectives of the Chinese people, he hesitantly admitted, "Mr. Hank, I owe you an apology. I may have been too quick to criticize the views held by the Chinese. Upon reflection, it seems their beliefs carry some weight. There could be certain phenomena that science hasn't yet explained—perhaps it's the kind of metaphysics they refer to."

Hank nodded in agreement, stating, "The world is inherently diverse. Each of us perceives only a fragment of it, and there’s much we remain ignorant about in the unseen realm."

With a wave of his hand, he continued, "But let's set this aside. We should focus on the matter at hand. What’s wrong with me?"

The private doctor swiftly responded, "Your CA199 index is quite elevated."

Hank inquired with curiosity, "What does this CA199 indicate? By the way, does it have any relation to sexual performance? I feel like I haven't been at my best lately. Could this abnormal indicator be linked to that?"

"Sexual performance?" The private doctor appeared perplexed and clarified, "Mr. Hank, this indicator is unrelated to sexual performance. It is closely linked to cancers of the digestive system!"

Hank was taken aback and exclaimed, "What?! Are you saying that my digestive system’s cancer indicators are off?"

"Yes," the private doctor mustered the courage to explain, "Not only are they abnormal, but they are extremely concerning."

Nervously shaking, Hank pressed, "What exactly do you mean? Please clarify!"

The private doctor elaborated, "We now suspect that there is a strong likelihood of digestive tract cancer, and the risk of pancreatic cancer is even greater, given that your index has surged from 12 to 628 in just three months..."

Puzzled, the private doctor then asked, "Mr. Hank, who informed you that you might have pancreatic cancer? That person seems exceptionally insightful; how did they arrive at that conclusion?"

"Oh my god!" Hank's face drained of color as he questioned, "Are you telling me I really have pancreatic cancer?"

The private doctor reassured him, "It's not an absolute certainty just yet. I just spoke with your attending physician, who suggested conducting a full body scan promptly to check for any clear cancerous lesions. If there are any, we’ll need to investigate whether there’s any invasion or spread to the lymph nodes or surrounding tissues. If you're agreeable, we can have the nurse administer a contrast agent for further examination right away."

In a panic, Hank exclaimed, "I was hoping to find only minor issues during my exam, but now it seems like a major problem! Why are you still talking? Get the examination arranged quickly!"

The private doctor quickly responded, "Understood, Mr. Hank. Please hold on; I'll coordinate it right away. There's no need to be overly anxious. We have the finest cancer experts available here. If surgery is deemed necessary today, we can carry it out immediately!"

Hank snapped, "Enough with the chatter; just arrange it!"

The private doctor hurried out in a flurry. To him, Hank's health directly impacted his own financial future.

If Hank remained healthy, he would continue receiving his salary, and every examination would yield dividends for the doctor from the hospital.

However, if Hank encountered serious health issues, a health consultant like him would be left with no job, as Hank would seek care at a specialized hospital. By then, various experts would consult, leaving him with no role to play.

Hank, who had been in good spirits moments ago, now felt his mental state deteriorating rapidly. He grasped his phone, trembling, and typed in the group chat: "Guys... there seems to be a serious issue..."

Angel instantly joked, "Hey, congratulations, Hank! I've been waiting for something abnormal all night, and it seems I finally got my wish. So, what's the abnormality?"

Hank, too troubled to decipher Angel's teasing, shot back angrily, "Angelo, you jerk! Are you wishing death upon me?!"

Angelo felt unjustly accused: "Hank, didn’t you always say in the group that you hoped for some abnormalities? So why scold me?"

Hank exploded with fury: "I was hoping for small abnormalities, not that I'd have pancreatic cancer! My CA199 level has skyrocketed, and the doctor says there's a high chance I have pancreatic cancer!"

His alarming statement instantly created a stir in the group chat!

Throughout the night, while the group had been mocking Charlie, no one believed that Hank, who seemed so healthy, could possibly have pancreatic cancer.

Even if Hank did have pancreatic cancer, how could he possibly know? There had been no basis for such a claim!

But after hearing Hank's revelation, the group's entire perspective shifted 180 degrees.

Angel replied in panic, "This means Charlie might be onto something... Does this imply that, aside from him, no one can truly help us with our issues?"

Another member chimed in, "It looks like we can't escape the influence of that man named Wade... Our hopes for help with impotency might just rest on him..."

Hank erupted with anger: "Are you still focusing on impotency at a time like this? I don’t even know how long I’ll have to live!"

Angel quickly reminded him, "Hank, if you're truly diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, you should hurry back to Charlie. Didn’t he say he could help you with that?"

Hank suddenly regained clarity, exclaiming, "You’re right! If Charlie is accurate, then I must believe he can actually help me! After I undergo the full body scan and confirm there’s nothing wrong, I'll go find him immediately!"

Angel sighed, "I suddenly feel like we’ll forever remain under the thumb of the Wade family..."

Another replied, "But why do I feel somewhat at ease? This man seems to instantly recognize that the doctor hadn’t identified any serious issues previously. If he hadn’t alerted us, Hank might have delayed treatment and faced dire consequences. If we can cultivate a solid relationship with him and support him, he ought to assist us if we find ourselves unwell, right?"

Angel countered, "That’s logical, but whether it materializes depends on whether Hank can truly recover after seeing him. If he manages to heal Hank, then I’d happily commit to being one of the Wade family’s faithful supporters for life!"
