Chapter - 6066

"Did you explain it for me?"

Tawanna immediately inquired, "How did you explain it?"

The agent sighed, "I can only say that you have a strong attachment to this song and have applied it too much to your performance. After all, you are a professional singer, and your commitment to your craft is evident."

Tawanna replied nonchalantly, "Honestly, I don't really care for this song that much. It's not even as good as the songs I write myself."

The agent next to her looked somewhat awkward.

Tawanna has always held a high opinion of her musical talent.

After all, she differs greatly from Stefanie. Stefanie is not a professional music student and cannot write or compose her own songs. Tawanna, on the other hand, has written nearly all of her own music.

Generally, singers who are also songwriters are not particularly fond of others' work, especially considering that Tawanna’s creative abilities are world-class in the pop music industry.

The agent, familiar with her personality, leaned closer and whispered, "The current explanation is your best bet; otherwise, if a real scandal arises, you’ll be the one facing criticism. Don't forget you have a boyfriend, and your relationship has always seemed stable in the public eye."

Tawanna waved dismissively and said irritably, "I understand. Let’s proceed with that. If any issues come up later, we'll tackle them in this manner."

Afterward, she asked the agent, "Where are Mr. Wade and Miss Sun?"

"In the dressing room."

"Great."

Tawanna cut her conversation with the agent short and hurried to the dressing room.

Inside, Stefanie and Charlie had resolved the situation that had left Charlie feeling slightly awkward.

Stefanie was particularly cheerful because she had just kissed Charlie, so she didn’t push him further. Instead, Charlie found himself feeling a bit embarrassed; after all, that passionate kiss was a first for him.

Tawanna knocked on the door, and Stefanie immediately called out, "Come in!"

Tawanna pushed the door open and walked inside.

Seeing her, Stefanie smiled and said, "Congratulations, Tawanna! Your performance today was phenomenal! I truly believe this is your best concert yet!"

"Absolutely!" Tawanna replied excitedly. "I felt it too. I've never performed with such energy before, and I sang every song to the best of my ability!"

After saying this, she glanced at Charlie, who was quietly standing to the side, and added with a hint of embarrassment, "Mr. Wade, I’m really sorry. I got a bit too carried away on stage today."

When Charlie had just come off stage, he found the situation rather awkward, but after Stefanie pushed the matter further, the incident with Tawanna felt almost trivial in comparison.

He said calmly, "It's alright, it happens. Just try not to let it happen again during the next performance or else I might have to stop acting!"

Tawanna had not expected to have the opportunity to kiss Charlie, even through a mask, during her time in Eastcliff. She was pleased with how things unfolded this time, so she quickly promised, "Don’t worry, Mr. Wade, I won't let it happen again!"

Stefanie smiled and said, "Tawanna, it's getting late; we need to head back. Make sure you have a good rest tonight, as you have another performance tomorrow."

Tawanna nodded and asked, "Stefanie, do you and Mr. Wade have any plans the day after tomorrow? I'm taking the day off, and I want to explore Eastcliff, hike the Great Wall, and stroll around the Forbidden City."

Stefanie smiled and replied, "If you plan to hike the Great Wall, you’ll definitely need at least a dozen bodyguards. Otherwise, fans will surely swarm you."

Tawanna inquired, "Can I go in disguise then?"

"That wouldn't work well."

Stefanie shook her head, saying, "You're a foreigner, and that's hard to hide. Fans would easily spot your unique features. Even if you try to cover up, someone is bound to recognize you."

"What should I do..." Tawanna said, a bit disappointed. "I really want to explore and see more."

Stefanie responded with a smile, "You can go out; just be open about it. But you won’t have much privacy. I can accompany you, but Charlie probably won’t."

Charlie agreed, saying, "It's great if you two want to go out and enjoy yourselves. It would give Tawanna's fans the chance to see the real China, making it livelier."

Tawanna asked, puzzled, "Mr. Wade, why can't you join us? You're part of our team too."

Charlie smiled and explained, "What is my role? Feng Shui Director! My job is to oversee the Feng Shui layout of your concert venues. Typically, I'm not the one who goes on a hike to the Great Wall or visits the Forbidden City. They have a long history; it’s not really my place as a Feng Shui master to follow and guide blindly."

Stefanie chimed in, "Exactly. It would be odd for Charlie to hang out with us. His wife would certainly wonder why. Also, Charlie is not someone who likes to appear in the public eye. If you all go out together, it would definitely attract attention online."

"That makes sense..."

Tawanna felt a pang of regret.

She had hoped to arrange some leisure time with Charlie and Stefanie while resting, primarily because she wanted to bond more with Charlie.

It was unfortunate that Charlie was reluctant to be seen in public.

This left her a bit disillusioned with her identity as an artist; she really lacked any private space.

If neither Stefanie nor Charlie were celebrities, the three of them could have enjoyed their time together without drawing attention.

Resigned, she said to Stefanie, "Then let's go out together. I’m sure there will be a flurry of trending topics about us after tonight. Let's capitalize on this opportunity to promote our friendship to the media and showcase more of China."

As she spoke, she turned to Charlie and insisted, "Mr. Wade, many depictions of China by Western media are completely unfounded. I never visited China for concerts before, so I was influenced by their narratives, which made me view China as backward, poor, and closed-off. But now that I’ve experienced it firsthand, I’ve found China to be a friendly, open, developed, and modern country. Its rich history and culture are what I want to share with the West!"

Charlie was somewhat taken aback by Tawanna's insight and smiled, saying, "That's wonderful to hear. I’ll arrange for news to go out on TikTok early and attract more prominent bloggers to come and broadcast live."

Tawanna nodded earnestly, saying, "That’s fine, and before heading to Shanghai, I have two or three days free. I’ll take the time to explore Eastcliff then."

Continuing with a smile, Tawanna added, "In fact, whenever I travel to any city in China in the future, I’ll arrange to go live and show the world the true side of China!"

Charlie gave her a thumbs-up, smiling, "That’s fantastic! If our official Chinese tourism board invites you to be a travel ambassador, make sure you accept!"

Tawanna replied without hesitation, "If they offer, I will definitely say yes! It would be an honor!"
