The Amazing Son in Law/

Chapter - 6070

Chapter 6070

Tawanna made quite a scene, leaving the British talent on the other side reeling in shock. However, Tawanna wasted no time in cleaning up the mess. She posted a voiceover and promptly blocked the other person. Not feeling satisfied with just that, she also took to social media platforms like Instagram to unfollow him. Whenever a star unfollows someone, it becomes a hot topic for fans to speculate about. There exists a group of individuals who are so idle that they monitor the follower counts of celebrities daily; they track every increase or decrease and discuss it among fandoms online. When Tawanna suddenly unfollowed the British singer, fan groups erupted with theories. The two had previously collaborated often and had maintained a close friendship in the public eye. Initially, fans were puzzled and speculated that Tawanna might have unintentionally removed him from her follow list. However, it wasn't long before they realized something was amiss. While a casual unfollow might happen on one platform, it’s unusual for both Instagram and Facebook to be affected simultaneously. If this was just chance, what could cause such an occurrence? It was clearly deliberate! Fans began to speculate whether Tawanna had severed ties with the British talent over a disagreement or a dispute over interests. At first, no one could pinpoint the reason. Then, someone astutely pointed out online, “Tawanna had criticized Britain during her live broadcast in China. Could that be why they fell out?” In an instant, everyone caught on. It became evident that Tawanna had the upper hand, as she was the one who triumphed, not the British singer. This led fans to infer that if a fallout did occur, it was likely initiated by Tawanna herself. The Internet was ablaze with chatter. Some Western conservatives couldn't comprehend what had influenced Tawanna to become such a prominent figure in China's media landscape. "You’re an American! Why ally yourself with a competitor on the other side of the globe and cast aside your own country's allies? What are you thinking?" Meanwhile, left-leaning individuals expressed understanding. “What does it matter what country you're from? We should share a future together as humanity and discard our biases. Let’s be realistic – shouldn’t a father support his son even if he misbehaves outside?” Tawanna, however, had little desire to engage with such conversations. Regardless, she intended to follow her own path to win over Charlie, willing to confront any challenge along the way. ... After a day of explosive online discourse, Tawanna began blocking more acquaintances within the British entertainment industry and casually prepared for her third concert in Eastcliff. Even though Charlie wanted to escape, he couldn't; Stefanie was determined to see things through to the end. With no other option, he had to grit his teeth and complete all four performances. The first three performances generated numerous trending topics, each with a unique focus. However, there was one hot topic that appeared on the trends three times: "Who is the mysterious male dancer whom Tawanna kissed?" People around the world were intensely curious. Some even suggested that if they could pay a hundred dollars to view a picture of the man, they would gladly do so. On the fourth day, a poll was launched on a foreign network asking, "If you were offered the chance to pay a hundred dollars to see the true picture of the mysterious male dancer, would you do it?" In just one day, over five million people responded to the poll, with more than three million indicating they would pay. The media was set ablaze once more. These fans were relentless. Who in their right mind would spend a hundred dollars to merely view a picture of a masked man? Did they pull their money from thin air? With such funds, couldn't they do something more productive? They could easily buy groceries, like beef, lamb, eggs, and milk! If they didn’t mind spending a hundred dollars to view a man’s image, didn't that seem a bit absurd? Three million people willing to pay a hundred dollars each amounted to three hundred million dollars! Tawanna made less than three hundred million dollars from her three performances! However, this time, the Chinese audience stood up. They quickly defended the situation, asserting, "What’s wrong here? Our domestic entertainment industry contemplated charging for access to celebrity photos on TikTok over eight hundred years ago!" Of course, no domestic entertainers would dare to set prices that high, typically charging only 28, 38, or 58 yuan. ... On the fourth day, Claire couldn't shake her curiosity about the enigmatic dancer. After looking at his image for three days, she felt convinced it was Charlie. Yet every time she considered it, another voice in her head insisted it couldn't be him. However, that changed on the fourth day when she saw the mysterious male dancer once again performing with Tawanna and Stefanie, and a thought struck her. She decided to call Charlie. She mused, "Isn't Charlie the Feng Shui director?" "Now that the performance has started, he should be free, right?" "If he picks up the phone right away, it would mean he’s definitely not the mysterious male dancer. But if he doesn't answer, while it won’t prove he is, it certainly raises suspicion!"

Unsurprisingly, Charlie couldn't answer the phone. To avoid distractions during the performance, he left his phone backstage. Plus, his outfit had no pockets. Even if he had his phone, answering it during the performance would be impossible. Little did he know Claire chose that moment to call him. As he heard the ringing, Claire became anxious. She couldn't help but murmur, "Could that mysterious male dancer actually be Charlie? But... why? He is a Feng Shui master; there is no need for him to get so involved with her, right?" Charlie had no idea such a misunderstanding would arise. He was growing weary of being in Eastcliff for so long. When not performing, he was constantly pressured by Stefanie to start a family. And during performances, a passionate American woman would hold onto him and kiss him. He was uncomfortable regardless of the scenario. So he had already arranged with Stefanie that as soon as these four performances concluded, he would head straight to the airport for his flight back to Aurous Hill. Even though he had more performances lined up in Shanghai, he wouldn’t need to dance there. Moreover, the next series wouldn’t begin for several days, freeing him from the need to linger around. Once Tawanna’s final song concluded, she stepped forward, hugged him, and kissed him. Thankfully, she had toned it down significantly from her overly enthusiastic displays during the first show. After the kiss, Charlie and Stefanie departed the stage. They hurried to the dressing room, where Charlie changed clothes and remarked, “I really can't stay here any longer. Let’s go straight to the airport. Stefanie, please say hi to my uncle and aunt when you return. I won’t be able to bid them farewell myself.” Stefanie looked at him in surprise. “Charlie, even if you’re eager to go back, is it really necessary to leave right now? It’s already past nine o’clock.” “I have to leave,” Charlie insisted. Stefanie teased, “Are you missing Ms. Wilson?” Charlie replied earnestly, “What Ms. Wilson? She’s your sister-in-law.” “No.” Stefanie scoffed and said seriously, “She’s just a third party inserting herself in between us, which I refuse to dwell on.” “Alright, alright,” Charlie recognized he couldn't win this argument with her. Their discussions often ended up circling back to how she knew Claire since childhood and how she must take precedence. When they touched upon the legal bond between husband and wife, Stefanie always emphasized that parental fate mattered more than anything else—how could a marriage stand against it? As such, Charlie understood he faced a logical conundrum. So, giving in, he said, “If you want to label her as Ms. Wilson, fine. I’ve been away from home for several days, and it’s high time I return.” Stefanie didn’t push it any further, saying, “Then I’ll drive you to the airport.” Charlie said, “I’ll drop you off at home first, then take myself to the airport. I’ll leave my car there, and Isaac Cameron will have someone pick it up.” Stefanie insisted, “No, I’m taking you to the airport. After I see you in, I’ll drive back myself!” Charlie was exasperated. It was past nine now, and the latest flight to Aurous Hill wouldn’t leave until eleven. If he rushed to the airport, he might still make it. But if he missed the check-in for this flight, he would have to ask the Wade family for a private jet. Although private flights are convenient, if the flight times mismatched the scheduled arrivals, it might raise suspicions. Claire just casually checked online and knew the plane hadn’t landed yet, while the high-speed trains had already stopped. How would Charlie be back? To avoid complications, Charlie told Stefanie, “Fine, we’ll go to the airport together, but I’ll ask Isaac to send a helicopter for you. You can’t drive back alone; that makes me uneasy.” “That’s alright,” Stefanie smiled, “I just want to ensure you make it to the airport!” Meanwhile, Claire, far away in Aurous Hill, observed the live stream where the mysterious male dancer had exited the venue. So she let a few minutes pass and called Charlie again. His phone was resting on the table in the dressing room. At that moment, the phone suddenly rang, and the incoming call notification replaced the previous one. He had no idea Claire had attempted to reach out to him while he was performing. He motioned for silence to Stefanie, cleverly picked up the phone, and answered it with a smile, “Claire.” Claire’s heart sank, and a wave of panic washed over her. She asked Charlie, “Husband, what are you doing?” Charlie replied, “I’m on my way to the airport.” “Going to the airport?” Claire inquired, surprised. “Why would you head there now? Isn’t the performance still going on?” Charlie responded, “My part is finished. There's a plane back to Aurous Hill tonight, so I’m setting off now to catch it.” Claire's anxiety heightened. “What’s really happening here?” “Is Charlie the mysterious male dancer?” “Why wasn’t the dancer answering his phone during the performance?” "Why is he answering the phone just a few minutes after his performance ended?" “And he’s returning to Aurous Hill immediately after—what perfect timing!” “Could it be… that the mysterious male dancer has been involved with Tawanna these past four days? Is it him?”
