Chapter - 6071

Charlie had no idea that his secret had been exposed.

He didn’t have time to wait for Tawanna’s performance to conclude, so he quickly greeted her agent and left Stefanie behind.

As they headed to the airport, Charlie told Stefanie, “Stefanie, you can finally take a break. Over the past few days, you’ve participated in four performances with Tawanna. Please don’t run around too much for now—just stay home with Uncle Orrin and Aunt Angie.”

Stefanie smiled and teased him, “Charlie, are you worried I’ll go to Tawanna's other performances as her guest?”

Tawanna has a total of twenty shows in China; so far, eight have been completed, leaving twelve remaining.

Since Charlie had taken on the role of Feng Shui Director, he needed to oversee all of these performances from beginning to end.

Stefanie was definitely looking forward to collaborating with Tawanna again.

When they reached Shanghai, she could easily fly over to support her and spend more time with Charlie.

Unexpectedly, Charlie had asked her to stay home with her parents, implying he didn't want her to accompany him.

Realizing her thoughts had been uncovered, Charlie felt a bit embarrassed.

He quickly clarified, “It’s not that I’m worried about you coming along; it’s just that I’m concerned about Tawanna’s interactions with you on stage. She hugs and kisses a lot—who could handle that?”

Stefanie's eyes sparkled with amusement, as if she found it amusing that Tawanna was so forward, and that Charlie seemed to resent it.

After all, Tawanna, while attractive, didn’t compare to the Nordic beauty Helena Iliad.

Stefanie knew that Helena had long been interested in Charlie; she was clean and had no romantic entanglements or scandals. If even she couldn’t sway Charlie, how could someone like Tawanna, who thrived in the entertainment industry?

Upon arriving at the airport, Charlie found that Isaac Cameron was already there.

He had arranged for a helicopter from a general aviation company to return Stefanie home after Charlie departed.

When Isaac saw Charlie, he looked a bit embarrassed and said, “Young Master, you notified us too late. There are no first-class tickets available for this flight. Should we coordinate with the crew to ready the Wade family plane to bring you back?”

“No need,” Charlie replied, waving his hand. “I’m flying solo; the two-hour flight will go by quickly. Economy class is just fine.”

Charlie then instructed Isaac Cameron, “Please ensure Stefanie gets home safely.”

“Don’t worry, Young Master,” Isaac assured him. “The helicopter is ready, and the route has been approved. It will fly directly to Gemdale Plaza near Miss Sun’s home, and we have a car waiting to take her back.”

Charlie nodded and bid farewell to Stefanie, saying, “I’ll head in first. Message me when you arrive.”

Stefanie felt a bit reluctant, but with Isaac Cameron present, she couldn’t be too familiar, so she took his hand and said, “Charlie, when will you come to Eastcliff again to see me?”

Charlie responded, “I can’t promise when. But I’ll make it to your last concert in Eastcliff.”

Stefanie pouted playfully, “Then you’ll have to wait a while longer; it won’t be until after the New Year.”

Charlie smiled and replied, “Let’s see how things go in the meantime. I can’t guarantee anything right now.”

Stefanie nodded in understanding, “Alright then, I’ll wait for your news.”

Charlie said his goodbyes, checked in, and selected a window seat before passing through security and making his way directly to the boarding gate.

In the rush, he arrived just as boarding was starting.

Charlie joined the crowd to board the plane. Once seated, he pulled out his phone and sent a WeChat message to Claire: “I’m on the plane now. We’ll be taking off in twenty minutes.”

Claire replied, asking, “Should I come to the airport to pick you up? It’ll be early morning when you land.”

Charlie smiled and said, “No need to worry; I’ll just take a cab home myself.”

He then added, “By the way, don’t wait up for me. Get some rest.”

Claire responded, “I know you’re coming back, so I can’t sleep. I’ll wait for you at home.”

Charlie felt touched and said, “I’ll try to get home as quickly as I can after I land!”

The boarding process was completed swiftly.

The airport was quiet at night, and they even took off five minutes earlier than scheduled.

On the plane, Charlie found himself rather bored, as his phone had no internet access, so he just fiddled with it in his hands.

He then noticed a missed call from Claire.

It had come just minutes before he connected to the flight.

Charlie recalled that when Claire had called, he must have been on stage dancing with Stefanie and Tawanna.

He had forgotten his phone when he went on stage; otherwise, he wouldn’t have missed her call.

With that thought, Charlie shrugged it off.

Just as he locked his phone, he noticed the young woman sitting next to him was scrolling through cached short videos on her phone.

It appeared she had taken advantage of the internet connection before takeoff and saved a bunch of videos to keep herself entertained during the flight.

Coincidentally, she stumbled upon a video filmed by an audience member during Tawanna's performance.

The video showcased "Assassin," where Charlie had performed on stage.

At that moment, the big screen beside the stage displayed a close-up of Charlie dancing with his sword, capturing every movement and detail, clearly visible to the audience.

Charlie suddenly recognized a serious dilemma.

Although he hadn’t shown his face at all, if someone knew him well, they would certainly recognize him by his figure and movements.

But what if Claire recognized him too?!

Recalling the timing of Claire's first call to him, Charlie began to feel a cold sweat break out.

Claire was a big fan of Tawanna, so she would likely be watching the live stream on her phone whenever she could.

If she was watching, she certainly wouldn’t have called during the performance.

But what would happen if she recognized him or started to question what she saw in the video?

That call came at the worst possible moment.

No matter how capable he was, he couldn’t be expected to clone his skills.

If he were performing on stage, there would be no way for him to answer his phone!

When Claire called, her intention wasn’t to seek him out, but to see if she could reach him!

Charlie felt a chill run down his spine.

If he were merely dancing with Tawanna and Stefanie, it wouldn’t have been a big deal for Claire to know; after all, she was aware of his skills.

Yet, the problem was that Tawanna had been so physically affectionate with him during four performances, leading to a trending discussion online.

If Claire found out, how would he explain it?
