The Amazing Son in Law/

Chapter - 6073

After booking the flight and the hotel, Charlie shared the news with his wife, father-in-law, and mother-in-law.

The family had never taken a vacation together, so their excitement for this short getaway was palpable.

Upon learning that Charlie had reserved accommodations on White Horse Island, Elaine immediately took to social media to share the news. She thoroughly researched White Horse Island and the prices on its reservation page, eagerly posting her findings for her friends to see.

She loved to flaunt her achievements daily, and seizing such a wonderful opportunity required some advance notice on her part.

Charlie hadn’t spent much time in Aurous Hill lately, with Tawanna's concert in Shanghai set to begin in three days.

Thus, after resting at home for two days, he had to set off again for Shanghai.

Shanghai City is merely 300 kilometers from Aurous Hill, and without direct flights, Charlie planned to drive there himself.

As luck would have it, his father-in-law was free, so he packed a few clothes, ready to hit the road.

When Claire helped him into the car, she reminded him to drive carefully. Charlie agreed and drove the car out of Thompson First.

As soon as he entered the highway, he received a call from Maria.

In the two days following his return, Charlie hadn’t gone out or seen anyone, so he hadn’t seen Maria.

After answering the call, Maria asked Charlie, "Are you back in Aurous Hill?"

Charlie replied, "I’ve been back for two days, but I'm leaving now."

Maria chuckled, "I see! You must be heading to Shanghai, right? Tawanna is holding a concert there soon, isn’t she?"

"Yes," Charlie confirmed. "I’m officially her Feng Shui advisor, so I have to go and play my part."

Maria responded, "I’ve seen a video of her performance. Your swordsmanship is really impressive!"

Charlie exclaimed, "How did you recognize it was me?"

Maria smiled, "I’m not clueless. I remember your silhouette well. Even if your face is covered, I could recognize you instantly."

Charlie felt a sudden realization wash over him.

If Maria could recognize him, Claire surely would as well.

Noticing his silence, Maria quickly added, "Don’t get the wrong idea, Young Master. I wasn’t trying to tease you; I just spoke freely. I actually had a serious matter to discuss."

Charlie sighed and told her, "Feel free to speak, Miss Clark."

Maria stated, "Didn’t you want to ensure that girl, Tara Decker, returned safely to China? I spoke with Keagan Myers about it. In a few days, an official humanitarian rescue team is set to return. They’ll send a military transport plane to Syria to bring them back. There will typically be official personnel stationed locally to assist, so I got Keagan to prepare a military identity for Miss Decker, allowing her to return on that flight."

When Charlie left Morocco, all the dead soldiers, cavalry guards, and their families, including Tara, the assistant of the Warriors Den at that time, were sent to Syria on a ship.

However, Charlie did not intend to leave Tara in Syria, as both she and Zeba were affected by the strange poison left by Morgana. He planned to transport Tara safely back home and arrange for her to meet Zeba.

Hearing that reliable channels were now in place, Charlie inquired, "Ms. Clark, when is this flight scheduled to depart, and where will it land in China?"

Maria smiled and replied, "The plane takes off the day after tomorrow and will land at the military airport in Shanghai the following night. Since you’re going to Shanghai, you can pick her up then."

"On that day, I’ll be busy," Charlie noted. "The day after tomorrow is Tawanna's first concert in Shanghai. I’ll be tied up for at least four days before I can return. Will she be safe in Shanghai during that time?"

Maria assured him, "It should be fine. I arranged for Miss Decker to have a military identity with a confidentiality level. The local government won’t have the authority to check her information. If you provide her with the relevant documents, they’ll be authentic and without flaws."

She added, "You’re driving to Shanghai, right?"

"Yes," Charlie confirmed. "I’m on the way."

"Great," Maria said with a smile. "Pick Miss Decker up from the airport and have her stay at your hotel so she can focus on her practice these days. After you’re done, just drive her back. That way, she won’t have to use public transportation, minimizing her exposure."

Charlie agreed, realizing Maria’s plan made sense. When it comes to staying under the radar, few could rival Maria, given her experience in hiding for over 300 years under Morgana's influence.

"I’ll go ahead with your plan, Miss Clark, but will I be able to successfully pick her up at the military airport the night after tomorrow?"

"No problem," Maria assured him. "Just give me your license plate number, and there will be someone ready to assist you at the airport."

Charlie had complete confidence in Keagan Myers’s capabilities. He knew his arrangements would be foolproof, so he said, "Okay, I’ll be there."

...

Meanwhile, at the Dragon Temple headquarters in Syria.

With substantial funding, the construction of the Dragon Temple headquarters was progressing rapidly.

Upon arrival, all the Dead Soldiers and Cavalry Guards were accommodated there. The Dragon Temple had constructed an extensive complex of buildings, both above and below ground, to ensure everyone’s well-being.

Additionally, thanks to ample funds and the convenient logistics provided by BAIT Shipping, Dragon Temple could procure the best materials despite being located in Syria. Wesley had plans to develop this area into a small city that could house tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of residents.

To ensure that children who had lived underground their entire lives received modern education, a temporary school was established, and an educational team was formed within Dragon Temple. Some well-educated members provided the children with a solid educational foundation based on China’s compulsory education curriculum.

The Dead Soldiers and Cavalry Guards expressed their gratitude for the arrangements Charlie had made for them. After settling in, they were eager to contribute to the construction of the Dragon Temple. Almost everyone joined the infrastructure team, working diligently like they were on a job, putting in eight-hour days to help build the temple.

The Moroccan group had just completed their arrival two days ago.

Once they got there, they were paired with the other Dead Soldiers and Cavalry Guards. Their colleagues who had arrived earlier welcomed them warmly. Whether they could lend a hand or not, everyone was eager to help when they could.

They often found themselves in a house assigned by Dragon Temple, excitedly getting ready to move in, with a large group of colleagues—along with their families—coming to assist.

As they helped each other, they quickly got to know one another and exchanged experiences from their various locations.

When those rescued by Charlie earlier heard from the Moroccan group that the Warriors Den had begun major blood exchanges at all stations, everyone felt incredibly fortunate but feared it might be their only opportunity.

They had been brought here through the extensive efforts of Charlie and all his family members.

However, that might be the last chance they would ever have.

When Tara landed in Syria, she was astonished by the scale of operations and the care given to the Dead Soldiers and the Knights.

The handsome face of Charlie suddenly flashed in her mind, leaving her with an enhanced admiration for him.

Yet, witnessing the reunions of families around her brought a wave of loneliness.

Perhaps she thought, she might never see her own family again in her lifetime.
