Chapter - 6074

Just as Tara was feeling adrift in this unfamiliar environment, Wesley approached her and said politely, "Miss Decker, Mr. Wade just called me. He asked you to get ready. Tomorrow, I’ll take you on a special humanitarian aid flight to China."

"I'm going to China?!" Tara's spirits lifted instantly upon hearing this.

She was uncertain about Charlie's feelings and whether she still held any value to him. She often worried that once he returned, he might no longer expend energy on her. After all, with only one or two years to live, and feeling like her situation was insurmountable, she feared she had no utility left. Even if she asked for help against the Warriors Den, her individual efforts would hardly make a significant impact.

Just when she thought she might be waiting in Syria for her time to come, Charlie had arranged for her to go to China!

Suppressing her excitement, she exclaimed, "Mr. Drake, is what you’re saying true? Given my sensitive situation, the entire Warriors Den is likely searching for me. Wouldn’t taking me to China pose substantial risks for Mr. Wade?"

Wesley smiled and responded, "There will be risks, but I believe Mr. Wade is confident that he can handle the situation. He mentioned over the phone that he would personally pick you up at the airport when you arrive in China."

"This..." Tara felt even more flattered and quickly added, "Please tell Mr. Wade not to go through so much trouble. He just needs to give me an address; after I land, I can find my way to him."

Wesley smiled and said, "While Ms. Decker has not had much contact with Mr. Wade, I believe there will be plenty of opportunities in the future. Generally speaking, Mr. Wade's decisions are not easily changed. Miss Decker should simply follow his instructions."

Tara nodded slightly, "Alright, thank you for the reminder, Mr. Drake. I understand."

She recognized that Wesley was offering her valuable guidance. Since she had little interaction with Charlie and was not familiar with his temperament, she saw no reason to decline his kindness.

At that moment, her heart was already soaring thousands of kilometers away to China.

Despite being fully of Chinese descent and having studied the language and culture since childhood, the Decker family had long been reliant on the Warriors Den, leaving her with no opportunity to return to her homeland.

She suddenly realized that this chance to visit China during the twilight of her life was, in a sense, a return to her roots—to the essence of the Decker family's heritage.

...

The next day.

As Tawanna's first concert in Shanghai began with fervor, Tara had already assumed the alias Lena Surrey and boarded a military special plane.

Dressed in a black outfit provided by staff, she had tied her long hair back, and her composed expression radiated capability.

Several young people in similar black attire accompanied her on the flight.

Initially, Keagan Myers could have arranged a direct flight solely for Tara.

However, knowing that a plane carrying just one person would attract undue attention from those who might be interested, they decided to cloak Tara’s journey within a larger group for confidentiality.

Consequently, by the time she boarded, dozens of members of the humanitarian aid team were already settled in the cabin.

When many noticed a few individuals in black, their first thought was that they were likely military personnel.

As expected, once Tara sat down, a staff member addressed the aid team seated at the front of the cabin: "Everyone, there are agents on board today for security reasons, so please refrain from speaking to any unfamiliar passengers during the flight. All mobile phones must be turned off and stowed as per regulations. Thank you for your cooperation."

Most of the international aid team consisted of volunteers in medical and educational fields. Before they embarked on their missions abroad, they had undergone extensive background checks and were well-vetted. Upon hearing about the confidentiality requirements, everyone participated enthusiastically, quickly stowing their mobile phones.

Tara and the other men in black were seated at scattered locations, each in their own row, maintaining silence throughout the flight.

The men in black were sent by Keagan Myers to protect Tara’s identity. His cautious approach ensured no loose ends were left.

Meanwhile, Charlie, who was far away in Shanghai, declined Tawanna's offer to attend the celebratory banquet following her concert and drove away from the venue alone towards the military airport in northern Shanghai.

As he arrived at the airport, a military transport plane landed smoothly.

There’s no terminal at military airports. As the plane taxied to its designated spot, several vehicles were already waiting nearby.

Once the plane came to a stop, ladder vehicles were positioned at both the front and rear cabin doors. A crew member entered the cabin and announced: "Please have the humanitarian aid team disembark from the front cabin door. Those involved in confidentiality matters should exit from the rear cabin door. Please maintain discipline during the flight—no whispers or mobile phones."

Everyone complied with the crew's instructions, picking up their carry-on items and lining up to disembark from their designated doors.

Tara and the other men in black boarded two vehicles, whereas the remaining members of the humanitarian aid team lined up to enter three buses.

These individuals needed to complete entry procedures at the airport, while Tara was escorted out of the runway area directly after arriving on the bus.

Inside the vehicle, the woman driving turned to Tara and said, "Miss Decker, we will take you to the underground parking lot, where Mr. Wade is already waiting for you."

Tara felt a mix of nerves and excitement, softly thanking her before pursing her lips in contemplation.

The security level at military airports is typically very high. Except for the runway that must remain exposed, the rest of the area is mostly enclosed.

Upon landing, all sensitive aircraft must be moved into a hangar, with all other vehicles parked in an underground garage, which is supported by logistics.

Charlie’s BMW 530 was currently parked in that underground garage.

A black red flag sedan pulled up in front of his car. The woman in black in the passenger seat got out and opened the door for Tara, saying, "Ms. Decker, you can step out now."

As Charlie saw Tara arrive, he exited his car, a look of slight surprise crossing his face.

She was dressed in a black outfit, but her skin was incredibly fair. With a slender figure and defined facial features, including a straight nose and striking brows, she exuded a sense of heroism.

Yet, upon seeing Charlie, two bright red spots appeared on Tara's fair cheeks.

Standing before Charlie with a hint of nervousness, she clasped her left hand with her right and said shyly, "Mr. Wade, thank you for being here!"
