Chapter 6085

Most of the visitors at the Lama Temple go directly to the Great Hall and the Villa Hall upon their arrival. They light incense and bow before the deities here before proceeding to other halls for more incense burning and prayers. Claire and Mindy Cortez entered together. For a moment, Claire was unsure of where to go, but Mindy had plenty of ideas. With a touch of mystery, she gestured towards the side passage of the main hall, saying, "Ms. Wilson, since we're here to seek opportunities, we shouldn't follow the crowd. We must steer clear of the masses. Opportunities are often seized by only a select few!" Claire shook his head and chuckled, "Alright, you seem to have a knack for this. I’ll defer to your experience and let you lead the way." Mindy nodded eagerly, taking Claire’s hand as they ventured deeper into the temple. They arrived at the doors of Inner Courtyard Palace, where the sign that once marked the hall was now gone, taken by the monks. Mindy pointed excitedly at Inner Courtyard Palace and said to Claire, “Ms. Wilson, let’s start our luck here.” Claire asked, puzzled, "Mindy, there are so many halls in the Lama Temple. We can't possibly visit them all one after another, can we?" Mindy smiled, saying, “Let’s give it a shot. What if we’re lucky and hit the jackpot right away?” With no better option, Claire agreed, saying, “Alright, I’ll follow your lead, but we must return by 8,30 at the latest since we have work at nine.” “Absolutely!” Mindy pumped her fist confidently. “Don’t worry, Ms. Wilson, we’ll have plenty of time!” The two approached Inner Courtyard Palace cautiously. Claire, feeling anxious, murmured at the entrance, “There are monks at the other hall entrances, but there’s no one here. Could it be that this place is abandoned? It looks deserted.” Mindy reassured her, “Whether there are people or not, let’s go in and find out. This is a temple, blessed by the gods, so there’s no need to worry.” With that, she stepped inside. Claire had no choice but to follow her in. Inner Courtyard Palace appeared quite run-down, lacking the incense burners typical for worship, making it seem somewhat like a forsaken site. However, Mindy was aware that Master Geoffrey was indeed present in the hall, so she confidently led the way inside and turned to Claire. As they entered Inner Courtyard Palace, Mindy asked loudly, “Is anyone here?” Noticing the emptiness around, Claire replied, “It doesn’t look like anyone is here, it’s completely deserted!” She lowered his voice nervously, “It feels quite eerie here, maybe we should head out.” Before Mindy could respond, they heard a voice from within the palace softly say, “Amitabha, how did the two of you find this place?” Surprised, Claire turned to see a relatively young middle-aged monk emerging from the room behind them. Having done some research before coming, Claire recognized him immediately, she had seen photos of Master Geoffrey performing rituals online. Mindy exclaimed in delight, “Oh, it’s Master Geoffrey! Hello, Master Geoffrey! We came here to seek your guidance for amulets!” Master Geoffrey nodded slightly, calmly responding, “Amitabha, it seems that you two are destined to meet me. Since you seek amulets, may I ask whose name you would like to invoke?” Mindy replied, “I wish to seek an amulet for my parents.” Claire quickly added, “I’d also like one for my parents and my husband.” Master Geoffrey nodded again, asking, “Which of you would like to go first? The amulet I create requires the name and birth date of the person being blessed.” Mindy immediately said, “Ms. Wilson, why don’t you go first?” Claire quickly waved his hands, insisting, “No, no, you should go first since it was your idea.” “Oh, it’s fine.” Mindy smiled and waved dismissively. “I’ll step outside and wait you go first, Ms. Wilson.” With that, she turned to leave before Claire could respond. Feeling a bit anxious about being alone with the monk, Claire took a deep breath, trying to steady her nerves. Master Geoffrey’s kind demeanor put her at ease and she began, “Master, I know my parents and my husband’s birthdays, but I’m unsure about the exact dates for them. I don't know how to convert their birth dates precisely.”

“That’s alright." Master Geoffrey smiled warmly. "You can tell me their names and approximate birth dates and I can make an estimation.” Claire nodded, asking, “Which should I mention first?” Master Geoffrey replied, “Let’s start with your parents, then move to your husband.” “Understood.” Claire shared her parents names and their birth dates one by one with Master Geoffrey. The monk thoughtfully pinched his fingers and after a moment, smiled, “Though your parents have faced some ups and downs, overall, their fates suggest they will enjoy wealth and longevity, living into their hundreds.” “Really?” Claire was astonished. Wealth and long life are what most people wish for. If what Master Geoffrey said holds true, she wouldn’t have to worry about her parents at all. Master Geoffrey spoke from experience. Despite the challenges Jacob and Elaine faced in their earlier years, their lives had taken a dramatic turn since Charlie freed them from their former plight. Wealth was now abundant. Furthermore, Charlie, with his considerable skills and access to various elixirs that promote longevity, could undoubtedly ensure that Claire’s parents would enjoy long lives. Claire said quickly, “Thank you, Master! Now, please check on my husband.” Master Geoffrey exhaled gently, smiling, “Please provide me with your husband’s name and birth date." Claire promptly shared Charlie's details. Master Geoffrey closed his eyes, concentrating for a moment, but his brow began to furrow slightly. Noticing this, Claire felt a wave of anxiety and asked quickly, “Master… is there something wrong with my husband’s birth date?” Opening his eyes, Master Geoffrey looked at Claire, then shifted the question back to her, asking, “Is there anything you find perplexing or uncertain about your husband?” Claire was taken aback, asking, “What do you mean by that?” Master Geoffrey replied seriously, “I mean just that. After spending so long with your husband, have you found anything you can't understand or anything that raises doubts for you?” Claire paused, hesitating. She had uncertainties about many things concerning Charlie. Although she often felt puzzled, she could usually rationalize those feelings. For instance, she had been baffled when Charlie, who had shown no particular talents prior to their marriage, suddenly became a Feng Shui Master who was flourishing in Aurous Hill. When she asked him about it, he explained that he learned through self-study, being persuasive enough to gain the trust of wealthy clients. Another nagging question revolved around the first three years of their marriage, where Charlie appeared submissive and never raised disputes, seeming almost fragile. Yet, when faced with danger, he demonstrated impressive skills, such as when he subdued two attackers threatening Loreen. His explanation was vague, claiming he learned from a TV show, which made her skeptical, as it seemed unlikely anyone could become an expert merely by watching such programs. For a long time, Claire told herself not to question her partner. Even if he held back certain truths, she respected his privacy and refrained from pressing him for details. But with Master Geoffrey's probing question, all the doubts buried deep within her surfaced, demanding attention. At this moment, Master Geoffrey continued guiding her calmly, “If you share your doubts, I can analyze them better and provide you with the corresponding amulets. However, if discussing it feels uncomfortable, that's entirely fine.” Claire instinctively asked, “Can the Master truly help me resolve my uncertainties?” Master Geoffrey smiled reassuringly, nodding, “Absolutely. Don’t worry. I will help clarify any doubts you have today. It may not come directly through my words, but I will ensure you can see through the fog and behold the bright moon!”
