The Amazing Son in Law/

Chapter - 6091

Chapter 6091

Human beings often exhibit a curious tendency to realize their feelings a little too late. At this moment, Claire came to the painful acknowledgment that she had fallen in love with Charlie. Their unconventional beginning had never set them on the right path, and her attempts to amend it now felt futile and too late. Deep down, she understood that she needed to separate herself from Charlie, both emotionally and logically. Temporary or permanent, she had to first vanish from his life. In this situation, she recognized that she had missed the optimal time to redirect their relationship. Seeing the anguish etched on her face, Stephen Thompson realized that this was no small task for Claire. To let her move on from Charlie meant not only departing from her husband but also severing ties with her entire social circle. Not only would she be gone, but her parents too would leave without a trace from their lives. Additionally, she suspected Charlie's connection with Stefanie would complicate her feelings even further. With that thought, a wave of sympathy washed over him, and he sighed, "Ms. Wade, please don’t worry too much about Miss Sun. Even though she is engaged to your husband, he remains steadfast in his commitment to your marriage." Claire stayed silent, her mind drifting back to the interaction between Tawanna and Stefanie at the concert in Eastcliff a few days prior. She had always doubted if Charlie could be the masked assassin; it now seemed the weight of that suspicion was confirmed. She found it unfathomable that Tawanna had fallen for her husband, but the reality set in that despite Tawanna’s greater popularity in the entertainment industry, she lacked the wealth that Stefanie possessed. If someone as affluent as Stefanie could still hold onto her love for him for so long, what was so surprising about Tawanna falling for Charlie? Reflecting further, she noted that girls like Doris Young, Jasmine, and Michaela all seemed to respect Charlie deeply. Perhaps they had already been charmed by him... This line of thought cut through Claire, leaving her feeling heartbroken as tears threatened to spill from her eyes. She paused for a moment, managing to hold back her tears, and replied to Stephen Thompson, “Thank you, Mr. Thompson. I will come to see you again before Charlie's birthday. We can discuss the specifics then.” Stephen Thompson nodded respectfully, saying, “I will await your arrival at Lama Temple, Mrs. Wade. If you have any instructions, I will do my utmost to fulfill them.” Claire gave a slight bow, expressing her gratitude, “Thank you, Mr. Thompson, and thank you, Master Geoffrey.” Afterward, she glanced at the vibrant flowers in her arms and told Master Geoffrey, "Master, I believe I should return this bouquet to you!" Master Geoffrey shook his head, placing his hands together as he said, "Amitabha. This flower revived due to your presence, Mrs. Wade. Since it holds a connection with you, it is better for you to take it home and care for it, allowing it to continue blooming for a few more days." Reiki is the original energy of all living beings. Master Geoffrey infused the wilted bouquet with reiki, infusing it with life once more. However, his own cultivation was limited, so he could only restore the flowers but not facilitate further growth. If he had greater power and could inject more reiki, this bouquet could truly become a rare gem. It was precisely because of Master Geoffrey’s gentle reiki that the bouquet would be presented to Charlie without any indication of tampering.

Claire looked down at the lively flowers in her hands, feeling a pang of compassion. She planned to take them home to nurture, knowing they could bloom for several days, if not more. Bowing to Master Geoffrey once again, she said, “Thank you, Master!” Knowing she didn’t want to linger, she took a couple of steps back, nodded to both men, and softly said, “I’ll take my leave now.” Turning, she began to walk away slowly. Outside, Mindy Cortez approached her, a look of surprise on her face as she asked, "Mr. Wilson, why have you been asking for amulets for so long...?" Unaware that Mindy was interconnected with this situation, Claire forced a smile and replied, "I had some personal issues to resolve, which delayed me. You should head in quickly. I'll wait for you here." Mindy nodded, eyeing the flowers in Claire’s arms with curiosity. "Mr. Wilson, where did this bouquet come from?" Claire felt awkward as she explained, "The monk gifted it to me. He said I have a special connection with this bouquet, so he suggested I take it home to take good care of it." Mindy widened her eyes in confusion, "That sounds rather odd. I should go in now. Mr. Wilson, please wait for me here for a moment!" Claire nodded, watching as Mindy entered the building. Once Mindy was inside and saw that both Stephen Thompson and Master Geoffrey were present, she approached them quietly and inquired, "Stephen, what’s our next step?" Stephen replied, "You will continue to stay with Mrs. Wade for the time being. She will need some time to resolve her affairs and will likely leave after the second Young Master's birthday in February. I’ll arrange for you to leave at that time too." Mindy asked, anxious, "And you, Stephen? What will you do?" Stephen responded, "I will remain at Lama Temple. Once Mrs. Wade has her schedule set, I’ll meet with her here to finalize the details of her departure." Mindy, filled with trepidation, said, "I worry that Claire will unintentionally disclose everything to the Young Master once she returns. If he finds out, he will undoubtedly seek you out at Lama Temple, and I’m certain he will become suspicious of me. If he learns of our plans, we’d have no way to safeguard our secrets." Stephen Thompson let out a helpless sigh, "Right now, we have no alternative. We cannot pressure Mrs. Wade to leave immediately, so we must trust that she sees the situation for what it is and adheres to the agreement for the Young Master’s sake." Mindy sighed as well, "I noticed how pained the wife looked when she exited. I can't help but wonder if the Young Master will catch on..." Stephen shook his head, "Since I choose to trust Mrs. Wade, we needn’t dwell on doubts. If she feels the need to share her thoughts or suspicions with you, she certainly will. Beyond matters concerning her, you can be open with her about everything else. If she still requires your support, she will ask you to stay. If not, contact Sister Turk, and she will make arrangements for your departure." ... Author's Note: I have heard from a friend that some clever individuals are discussing changes to this book. I simply want to say: if I were to request a writer to produce my work, even if they could only write 10,000 words per day, I would want at least 8,000. After five years of hard work, I am truly exhausted, both physically and mentally, and I have no desire to seek out any untrustworthy writers. This is why updates have slowed down recently!
