Chapter - 4991

Aslan could not stand this annoying woman any longer.

He stepped forward and slapped Martha in the face.

Martha immediately calmed down, but her battered face became worse. "Am I safe now?" Martha exclaimed, pleasantly surprised that she was back to safety.

Skeeter panicked at Martha's rescue. "What about me? Save me!" He shouted.

Skeeter had no idea what he should do. It did not look like Emery was going to save him.

Skeeter tried to speak to Emery, "Guild Leader!" His voice trembled with anxiety, fearing that Emery would ignore him.

If Emery wanted to save him, he would have done so already.

However, he took no action and even seemed like he was watching the fun.

Skeeter was very worried about his attitude.

In fact, Maurice was more worried than Skeeter.

He did not expect that Philip would choose to save Martha!

Under normal circumstances, he should choose to rescue the practitioner first.

Emery glanced at Philip helplessly.

He could not save Skeeter, and he realized something by now. Skeeter did not deserve his rescue at all.

Philip nodded with satisfaction and agreed with Aslan's approach. Although he wanted to do it, he knew he could not. He was happy that someone did it on his behalf.

In fact, Emery was well aware of Skeeter's rampant behavior over the years, but he chose to turn a blind eye to it. He regretted the decision until today.

"Guild Leader, hurry up and save me. I recently developed a new weapon-smithing method," Skeeter said in a panic.

He could see the regret and helplessness in Emery's eyes.

Maurice urged too, "Are you going to give up on him? I heard that he's a senior member of the Smith Guild!"

Maurice decided to criticize Emery as if he stood on high moral ground. He wanted to use Skeeter to make others lose confidence in the Smith Guild.

"Who else will you cherish if not this senior member?"

Maurice was panicking inwardly. He just wanted to get this over and done with.

Emery shook his head helplessly, ready to give up. "I'm sorry, I can't save you. You'd better fend for yourself..."

He then closed his eyes after saying this.

After so many years, it was difficult for him to give Skeeter up all of a sudden. However, he had no authority to decide. The person in charge now was Philip, not Emery.

Emery was just Philip's follower now. He even wished he could give the guild to Philip right away.

"Guild Leader?" Skeeter hesitated and his confidence wavered at Emery's actions. He felt that Emery was ready to give up on him.

If that were the case, he would be doomed for sure. These people were not to be trifled with!
