Chapter - 4994

However, Philip gave it up so casually. His resolve was unbelievable. At least, Emery would not have that fortitude.

Maurice trembled in rage upon hearing Philip's remark. He wished he could rip the other party into pieces.

Although he had been defeated, he only lost to Philip. Handing him to Emery was an insult to him!

"Wait a minute!" Maurice snapped. He thought even if he died, it had to be with dignity.

Philip turned to Maurice in confusion.

"You defeated me, so I can only admit that I'm not as good as you. But what's the meaning of handing me over to another loser to deal with? Even if I'm going to die, at least let me die with dignity! We're a reputable guild. You can't humiliate us like this!" Maurice said indignantly.

Maurice did not want to die. He simply could not accept the fact that Philip wanted to hand him over to Emery, a loser.

The other elders stared at Maurice in trepidation, fearing that he would say something wrong.

Although Maurice was prideful, they did not share the same thoughts. No one would choose to die if they could live.

Even if they had to be humiliated and tortured by Philip, they would rather suffer through it and live.

The expressions of the elders varied, but it was obvious that no one agreed with Maurice.

An elder gritted his teeth and knelt in front of Emery. "We made a mistake, so please forgive us, leader of the Smith Guild! I'm willing to join the Smith Guild and become your most faithful servant!"

This elder was a smart man and knew that giving in was the best choice he could make.

The key to expressing allegiance was timing. Once the timing was wrong, he could not achieve good results no matter how hard he tried to please the other party.

Seeing the humble attitude displayed by the fifth elder, the other elders panicked.

They rushed to kneel in front of Emery, afraid that Emery would not give them a chance to express their allegiance. After all, Philip only said that he would let Emery deal with them without saying how. It would be best if they could join the Smith Guild.

Maurice's resolute display earlier was quickly ruined by the elders' actions to submit. On top of that, the members of the Pill Guild bowed to Emery humbly too.

Since the elders had chosen to compromise, what else could they do?

They quickly apologized and begged for Emery's forgiveness.

Emery was dumbfounded at this scene, shocked by their cowardice. He thought that there would be a tough fight ahead, but everyone under Maurice had already chosen to surrender.
