The Amazing Son in Law/

Chapter - 5910

In the remote villages and towns of Morocco, workers possess little to no rights. As long as their employer provides them with a job, they are grateful and will leave whenever instructed. Forget about compensation; simply receiving their wages is already seen as a blessing.

Although the employees lack formal labor contracts with the company, no one wants to jeopardize their livelihoods by offending the factory owner.

Consequently, when the factory director urgently commanded everyone to return to work immediately, no one dared to delay for even a moment. They all hurriedly departed from their homes, finding various means of transportation to reach the factory.

In their minds, they felt no resentment toward their boss despite his sudden demands. On the contrary, they were pleased to have enjoyed a few days of paid leave. With the vacation ending earlier than expected, they felt no sense of loss; instead, everyone was quite at ease.

Several key employees arrived early and noticed that most of the production lines in the factory had been dismantled. Confused, they asked the factory manager, "Boss, didn't the Asian guy say he wanted to buy our factory for upgrades? Why is it in worse shape than before?"

Initially, Jack had intentionally held back crucial information, instructing the boss to tell the employees that the factory was merely cooperating with him, not selling to him. Thus, the workers were only curious as to why the promised upgrades and renovations had suddenly ceased, without being surprised that the boss continued to manage the factory.

The factory manager found the employees’ lack of attachment to the factory beneficial for him, so he explained, "The Asian investor ran into issues with his funding and has gone back to secure financing. He won’t be back anytime soon. We can’t afford to wait for him in the meantime. If he can't raise the money, he’ll lose his chance to invest, so I've asked you all to return and keep working."

The factory manager then instructed, "Quickly gather the experienced workers to get the production line back in order. I’ve already arranged with the supplier at the dock for several truckloads of sardines to arrive this afternoon. We need to ensure a smooth operation today."

Canned sardines are not a high-tech product, and the old production line lacks complexity. For these employees, who have worked here for years, assembling such a basic setup is far simpler than putting together a bicycle with gears.

Thus, a group of male workers, led by seasoned technicians, immediately set to work rebuilding the production line.

By around 4 or 5 in the afternoon, as several aging refrigerated trucks arrived at the dock, the employees on the production line began efficiently processing the fresh sardines. Soon, the boiler used to steam the sardines started emitting smoke.

After several days of quiet, the sardine canning factory buzzed back to life.

Charlie and Jack waited inside their designated vehicle until the factory resumed operations, feeling a sense of relief.

Charlie sighed, "Everything is calm, as if nothing ever happened. Even if the Warriors Den discovers this place in the future, they will have no reason for suspicion."

Jack smiled and replied, "Even if they did suspect, it wouldn't matter. So many people have returned to work, and I’ve seen them in action. The on-site management is chaotic, and the sanitation is abysmal. The water used to clean the sardines in the slaughtering area flows continuously, spilling all over the ground and getting trampled by the workers. No evidence will be left behind. Moreover, once they begin working here, the strong odor of fish, along with blood and other fluids splashing everywhere, will obscure any clues. Even if our people accidentally leave traces during their escape, they will be destroyed among the chaos. Even the best police dogs would struggle to gather information in such conditions."

Charlie asked humorously, "So, if someone were sent here unknowingly, they wouldn’t find any evidence?"

"None at all," Jack replied. "Many unsolved cases ultimately come down to a lack of evidence. If the essence of the evidence is destroyed, it wouldn't matter if a divine being intervened. You see, there are cases in various countries that took years to solve, often because a small piece of key evidence remained, like partial fingerprints or DNA samples. In today’s information age, fingerprint and DNA collection encompasses an ever-increasing number of people. Once the suspect or their relatives are in the system, their good days are likely over."

Continuing, Jack explained, "We processed the biological information here before we left. As soon as these individuals begin work, it won’t take more than two or three days for all traces to vanish, and I won’t see anything unusual."

Charlie nodded with a smile, "Thanks to Inspector Lee's professionalism, I feel more secure with you here."

Jack responded, "Mr. Wade, you are far too generous. I offer no special advantages, merely years of experience acquired as a criminal investigator. I still fall short in comparison to you."

Charlie started the car and said with a grin, "Alright, let’s stop discussing business like this. We should wrap it up and return to Casablanca to meet this Victor Steel. Then, we can leave and head back to Northern Europe."

Jack inquired eagerly, "Does Mr. Wade truly want to meet Victor Steel?"

"Yes," Charlie nodded. "He is the Governor of the Right Army Commander's Office, certainly in the top ten of the Warriors Den. He is also a direct descendant of the Mirren family and Morgana. It's possible his actual name is Victor Mirren. While I can’t guarantee I'll find a breakthrough with him, I can at least give Morgana a chance to think."

Jack continued asking, "What is Mr. Wade's intention? Are you planning to kill Victor Steel?"

"Killing him serves no purpose."

Charlie explained, "The Right Army Commander's Office even rotates its garrison and always keeps emergency backups. The Governor’s position likely works the same way. Don’t forget what Tara mentioned: the previous Governor, Victor Steel’s brother, vanished overnight. Victor Steel took over immediately, and everyone remains silent on Victor's disappearance. I suspect Victor Steel had something to do with it, but he likely has others around him that will step in if anything happens. If he were to be killed, it wouldn’t disrupt the operations of the Right Army Commander's Office."

Jack concurred, saying, "These so-called governors are merely high-ranking employees, not even shareholders. The entire Warriors Den operates as a sole proprietorship; Morgana is the sole owner and shareholder. No matter how elevated others may be in rank, they remain employees at heart. Their deaths are inconsequential to Morgana."

Jack then grew more puzzled and sought clarification: "Mr. Wade, if you're not going to kill Victor Steel, what is your plan for meeting him? You can't expect to turn him against Morgana, can you? Given that he is a Mirren descendant, he certainly wouldn't dare betray Morgana, especially with family and relatives involved in the Warriors Den."

Charlie smiled and replied, "I never planned on turning him. I've essentially mapped out the power structure within Morgana and the Five Military Governor's Office. The Five Military Governor’s Office is filled with frontier officials who lack the qualifications to be close to Morgana. I even suspect they don’t know her location. If I were to turn Victor Steel, he wouldn’t provide any assistance in dealing with Morgana, and he could be replaced at any moment, risking exposure of my identity."

As he spoke, Charlie chuckled and added, "Didn’t Morgana sever one of his hands? I merely want to do something good and help him reattach it to see how Morgana reacts!"
